Aimee Janice (Aimee J) is an actress who was born and raised in Bali, Indonesia. In 2013, she moved to Jakarta to study at Pelita Harapan University in the Contemporary Music Faculty, then shifted to the Faculty of Social & Political Science and graduated in 2019. During her university years, she also attended an acting school.
She began her career as an actress in 2016 and has performed in several National/International theater and film productions. She appeared in two episodes of the television series Crime and Investigation Asia Channel for A+E Network, which premiered in 13 countries across Southeast Asia.
Her theater work includes performances in productions such as the adaptation of King Lear by William Shakespeare (2016), Les Justes by Albert Camus (2017), Sumur Tanpa Dasar by Arifin C. Noer (2018), and Endgame by Samuel Beckett (2019). In 2021, she performed in a theater adaptation of Seperti Dendam, Rindu Harus Dibayar Tuntas, in collaboration with Palari Films, produced by Happy Salma, Marsha Timothy, and Yulia Evina Bhara.
She was chosen as one of the youngest actresses from Indonesia to pass and be invited to take part in the Suzuki Company of Toga (SCOT) Summer Program under the direction of maestro Tadashi Suzuki in Japan (2022), which was attended by 30 selected actors from 17 countries. In the same year, she had the opportunity to audition for a theatre performance directed by Robert Wilson, an American theatre director from New York.
She has also acted in several international film productions. In 2023, she performed in one of the biggest theater productions in Indonesia, Jalasena: Laksamana Malahayati, directed by Iswadi Pratama and produced by Marcella Zalianty through Keana Films in collaboration with the Indonesian National Army.
And in 2024, she went to Uzbekistan for a theater performance tour in three cities, under Bumi Purnati Indonesia.
