Aimée Lagos is an award-winning director, producer and screenwriter whose films include the #1 box office hit from Sony Picture's, No Good Deed starring Taraji Henson and Idris Elba which she wrote and Executive Produced, as well as the award winning indie thriller 96 Minutes starring Brittany Snow and David Oyelowo which she wrote and directed. She has written multiple feature films in development and production for Universal Pictures including Talent Show produced by George Tillman and Bob Teitle as well as the film adaptation of the novel Theatre Geek produced by Jason Bateman and Tobey Maguire and an adaptation of the Terri McMillan bestseller I Almost Forgot About You starring Viola Davis. Lagos adapted the New York Times best seller, In Five Years for Working Title and New Line Cinema. She has sold pilots to HBO, FOX, CBS. Lagos serves as a mentor for Women In Film, Inner City Filmmakers and Creative Lab Hawaii. Lagos is a member of WGAw Inclusion and Equity Group co-chaired by Shonda Rhimes and Glen Mazarra which is dedicated to promoting inclusion in storytelling throughout the industry. Hailing from a large Spanish/Cuban American family in New Jersey, Lagos graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis and went on to live in a small village in Guatemala where she taught English. After spending many years in the theatre as a young person, studying in both NY and London, Lagos began her career in theatre in NY before transitioning to filmmaking working under such directors as Gary Ross and Tim Burton. Her short film Underground won multiple awards on the festival circuit around the world including a BAFTA Award For Excellence. She premiered her feature directorial debut, 96 Minutes, which was based on her experiences living in St. Louis, at SXSW where it earned a jury award. Her next film No Good Deed, produced by Will Packer, opened #1 at the box office in the US.
