Biography

    • Pedro Carmo was born in Lisbon, Portugal. He's been featured in films selected to the Cannes Film Festival ("Misteries of Lisbon" by Raul Rouiz) and the Toronto Film Festival ("The Other Side of Ressurection" by Joaquim Sapinho). On Stage he has performed plays from Shakespeare, Racine, Brecht to Paula Vogel, J.P.Shanley or Jenny Schwartz. In NYC where he has been living for the past twelve years he continues is accomplished career with projects on Broadway ("Breakfast at Tiffany's" directed by Sean Mathias), Television (The Blacklist, Evil, Jessica Jones, Person of Interest) and Film ("The Dry Rain" - NYC Indie Film Fest, "The Hunter" by Ian Samplin). After many years directing for Stage, Pedro Carmo directed his first short film called "Way" (2016) that landed him a nomination for best director in the International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema Milan 2016. In 2020 he co-directed with Pedro Marnoto "The Flying Shoelace" which premiered in the Los Angeles Children Film Festival 2022. Continuing the success of there creative partnership Pedro Carmo and Pedro Marnoto co-directed a new short film in 2023 called "Of Another Place".
