‘So You Think You Can Dance’ preview: Who do you think will and should win season 18?
Image
Season 18 of “So You Think You Can Dance” is past the auditions rounds, so now the top 10 contestants are headed for the main event. But who will win the $100,000 grand prize. Predict who you think will win here in our predictions center. And scroll down to vote in our poll to let us know who should win the competition.

The season started with three days of auditions, during which all the hopefuls performed solos in their signature styles. Judges Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Allison Holker and Comfort Fedoke then sent through the best 35 to the choreography round, where the dancers had just an hour to learn a challenging routine by celebrity choreographer Galen Hooks. More than half of those contestants got the boot, leaving 16 dancers to pair up and learn a duet dance from Hooks. The judges then had to make the grueling decision to cut six to leave us with the...

‘So You Think You Can Dance’ 18: Meet the Top 10 dancers
Image
“So You Think You Can Dance” returned in 2024 for its 18th season with some major changes and a new format. Below, meet the top 10 contestants who braved the initial auditions to advance to the main competition.

This season of “Sytycd” started with three episodes of solo auditions in which the contestants performed in their specialty styles. Three judges then decided their fates: Latin ballroom competitor and “Dancing with the Stars” champ Maksim Chmerkovskiy, “DWTS” and “Sytycd” alum Allison Holker, and her fellow “Sytycd” All-Star Comfort Fedoke. They selected the best 35 to advance to the next round where they learned and performed a routine by celebrity choreographer Galen Hooks. From there, only 16 went on to perform in the duets. And then one final cut narrowed the field to 10 participants.

That’s where the big changes came in. This season, in order to find a competitor who would be ready for a career in dance right away,...

‘So You Think You Can Dance’ 18 episode 4 recap: ‘The Final Audition: Top Ten Revealed’ showed who could handle choreo
Image
Many dancers auditioned for a chance to compete on “So You Think You Can Dance” for season 18. Dozens were sent through to the choreography round by judges Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Comfort Fedoke and Allison Holker. But only 10 can advance from here.

“Dancers, are you ready? Judges, are you ready?” asks host Cat Deeley to enthusiastic cheers at the start of “The Final Auditions: Top Ten Revealed.” Allison then tells the dancers what they can expect, including the fact that this round of auditions will only last one day and will end with the selection of the top 10 dancers moving on, which seems to take many of the contestants by surprise. “Those 10 of you, who move forward will experience the challenges of actual working dancers, and let me remind you, only one of you will win $100,000.”

‘Room’ Stars Adrienne Warren & Ephraim Sykes Speak Out On Broadway Show’s Abrupt Withdrawal From Spring Lineup
Image
Broadway’s Room stars Adrienne Warren and Ephraim Sykes, along with choreographer Galen Hooks, are speaking out on the bizarre, last-minute “indefinite postponement” of the much anticipated spring production.

“We do not know what happened,” says Warren, the Tina star who was to play the lead role in the Room stage adaptation that was to begin previews next month. “We have no idea. As this continues to unfold, I just want to publicly say, it is not a reflection on the beautiful souls in this piece. It is not a reflection on our creatives.”

Harry Styles at an event for Dunkerque (2017)
This Fiery Dance to Harry Styles's "Kiwi" Is Giving Us So Much Life Right Now
Harry Styles at an event for Dunkerque (2017)
The best song on Harry Styles by Harry Styles is "Kiwi," no doubt, according to me. I fully intend to rage when I hear it live when Harry goes on tour this Fall, and now I know exactly what moves to learn and bust out at the concerts, thanks to choreographer Galen Hooks. She and the rest of this talented crew at La's Millennium Dance Complex just dropped this sexy routine, and as a fan of Harry's, it has me wishing that he had some ability to dance so he could join in. However, as danceable as "Kiwi" is - he's screaming about having babies and it's no one else's business, after all - I feel pretty confident that Harry won't be trying any of Galen's choreography anytime soon. It's no matter: we have this video, as well as others from the talented dancers at Millennium, to get us on our feet.

DS2DIO, iJustine, KevJumba, Joe Penna In The Giving (And Dancing) Mood
The holidays are a time for giving, and YouTube is doing its part to keep up the Yuletide spirit. The Vlogbrothers have raised over $441,000 with Project For Awesome, but they aren't the only philanthropists in the online video world. DS2DIO, the dance channel started by Justin Bieber: Never Say Never director Jon M. Chu and producer Hieu Ho, is releasing four holiday videos, each one featuring a choreographer, a YouTube star, and a charity to which DS2DIO will donate $5,000. Ho explained how the holiday video series came to be: "In the spirit of the holidays, Jon and I wanted to do something to help give back... and we thought it would be fun to gather some of our friends and fellow YouTubers to spread a little joy through dance, while bringing attention to organizations that are really making a difference. And lucky for us, our friends happen to...

Former Us daytime soap actress Melinda Sullivan (pictured above) has joined the cast of director John Ch’s G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. No news on who her character will be, but there is plenty of speculation. Along with franchise newcomers Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Roadblock, Elodie Yung as Jinx, DJ Cotrona as Flint, Adrianne Palicki as Lady Jaye, RZA as The Blind Master, Ray Stevenson as Firefly, Joseph Mazello as Mouse and Walton Goggins as Warden Nigel James.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation Casting Update
Actress-Dancer Melinda Sullivan has sent out an update today via Twitter announcing her involvement in G.I. Joe 2 Retaliation. The one thing she did confirm was that she wasn't playing The Baroness. (Even though she looks like a better Baroness than Sienna Miller in my opinion) Also in addition to Melinda Sullivan, three more names have been added to the cast which include - Kendra Andrews, Travis Wong, Galen Hooks. Again there is no confirmation on who these three will be playing in the movie. One thing that all four have in common are the fact that they are all dancers. So probably bit parts in the movie. The following is a casting call sheet for a "Prison Break" scene in the film that features Snake Eyes meeting up with the Warden during the break. (In all honesty, probably breaking out Cobra Commander and Destro) Next...

Video Premiere: Ne-Yo's 'One in a Million'
Ne-Yo has a crush on a woman in a music video for his latest single "One in a Million". Although the lady has repeatedly turned him down, he doesn't give up too easily. Busting some moves with his boys, he finally gets attention from the girl only before she turns on her heels as he is joined by three hot females.

Directed by SkeetScorsese / Wayne Isham, the music video features Ne-Yo as a man with superpower. Columbus Short, John Silver, Cliff McGhee and Galen Hooks play supporting roles in it. The clip ends with a cliffhanger in which his love interest yells at him, "What the hell's wrong with you?"

"One in a Million" music video is one of Ne-Yo's efforts to visualize "Libra Scale", his concept album which explores story behind money, fame, power and love. He has previously premiered two mini movies in support of "Beautiful Monster" and...

Ne-Yo Premieres 'Beautiful Monster' and 'Champagne Life' Video
Following a previously-released teaser, Ne-Yo fully unveils two music videos for his singles "Beautiful Monster" and "Champagne Life". Making their way out on Bet, both of the clips were filmed back to back and are directed by Wayne Isham with the scripts written by Ne-Yo himself.

In the first video which co-stars Columbus Short, John Silver, Cliff McGhee and Galen Hooks, Ne-Yo is facing off a "Beautiful Monster" to save the world. "[It] is one piece of a very long and intricate story," he said. "When you see the first video, make sure that you're paying attention because all of the videos tell a story. So pay attention - you don't want to miss nothing."

It is then revealed in the "Champagne Life" video that Ne-Yo and the female villain have history together. He was romantically linked to her before she was turned into Diamond Eye, a "crazy, psycho mass-murderer."

Both...
