Biography

Dan Burks is an award-winning writer, director, and film producer, and is an alumnus of USC's School of Cinematic Arts and co-founder of Om Films. As a producer, Burks' films include the Grammy-nominated and PGA-winner Beats, Rhymes, & Life; The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest, Super Dark Times, and The Ballad of Lefty Brown. His features have premiered at Sundance (Beats ; Wild Indian), SXSW (Space Station 76 ; Lefty Brown), and Tribeca (Stray Dolls ; Super Dark Times). As a director, Burks' most recent short film, The Stranger, won numerous awards, including the Audience Award for Best Short at the '22 Beverly Hills Film Festival, and Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Short at HorrorHaus '22. Burks lives near the Pacific Ocean with his wife, daughters, and surfboards.
