Was a member of The Screaming Trees, one of the first Seattle bands to sign with a major label, the group never attained the popularity of fellow Northwestern bands, from 1983 until they disbanded in 2000.

Released "Here Comes That Weird Chill" EP by The Mark Lanegan Band in December and will be releasing a solo album, "Bubblegum," in 2004. (January 2004)

The singer openly battled alcoholism and drug addiction in the 1990s and 2000s. He had two stints in rehab - once in 1996, and again in 2007.
