Stephen Bannon
All 19 Movies and Shows Steve Bannon Wrote, Directed or Produced (Photos)
Stephen Bannon
Before he had the ear of the president, former White House Chief Political Strategist Steve Bannon tried his hand at Hollywood. As a producer, he was behind several small movies, but he really hit his movie-making stride writing and directing conservative documentaries aimed at Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Here’s a complete list of every Hollywood project in which Bannon’s had a hand.

“The Indian Runner” (1991) — Executive Producer

Bannon’s first movie as an executive producer was, somewhat ironically, written and directed by famous Trump critic Sean Penn. “The Indian Runner” starred Viggo Mortensen and David Morse as brothers on the opposite sides of the law. Here’s the trailer.

“Titus” (1999) — Co-Executive Producer

Anthony Hopkins and Jessica Lange star in this modern-styled adaptation of the Shakespeare “Titus Andronicus.” That story packs an interesting mix of 1950s aesthetics and ancient Roman subject matter. Bannon served as co-executive producer on the project,...

Joe Biden vs NY Times: Campaign Suggests Paper Is ‘Truly Blind,’ Times Calls Coverage ‘Tough and Fair’
The New York Times on Wednesday rejected complaints from Joe Biden’s presidential campaign that the paper was spreading a “baseless conspiracy theory” about the former vice president.

“Our coverage of the Biden campaign and Hunter Biden has been fair and accurate,” said in a statement. “The Biden campaign obviously disagrees and instead of asking to meet with the paper’s leadership to discuss these concerns, they wrote a critical letter and shared it publicly.”

The statement continued, “We will continue to cover Joe Biden with the same tough and fair standards we apply to every candidate in the race and we’re happy to sit down with Biden advisers anytime to discuss news coverage.”

President Donald Trump Tweetstorm – The Sunday Edition
Two figures that have a propensity for showing up at disasters are being celebrated today.

President Donald Trump heads to flood-ravaged Houston for “Howdy, Modi,” a gathering at Nrg Stadium expected to draw 50,000 people. The event celebrates Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was first elected in 2014 and is credited with modernizing India’s economy and addressing climate change. But his military moves in the Kashmir region are controversial, and protesters are expected outside the stadium for him and President Trump.

The Commander-in-Tweet also found time this morning to give a shout-out to The Mothman, a West Virginia legend that purportedly shows up just before major disasters. They’re celebrating the creature today with a festival in that state.

President Trump’s tweetstorm also criticized the Federal Reserve for its interest rate policies, and again raised the Hunter Biden flag as he continues his counter-attack on the whistleblower rumors.

Meet Donald Trump’s New Campaign Advisers
Image
A press release arrived in reporters’ inboxes Wednesday morning trumpeting two major hires for the flagging Donald Trump campaign: Steve Bannon, executive chairman of Brietbart.com, was coming on board as chief executive; and Republican pollster Kellyanne Conway would become campaign manager. Bannon will oversee the campaign staff and operations and perform “strategic oversight,” while Conway will be in charge of “messaging.”

Embattled campaign chair Paul Manafort — who took charge of the campaign after former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was ejected in June — would be functionally replaced by these hires,...

Hillary Takedown: 8 Right-Leaning Films Set for Theatrical, Online Release
Hillary Clinton
Hillary and Bill Clinton might want to avoid movie theaters if they’re looking for a little down time from campaigning. There could be up to eight right-leaning films released in the coming months set to hit the big screen and online streaming services with storylines less than flattering for the Democrats' presumptive nominee. The first, which hits YouTube on Thursday, uses actors to re-enact Hillary Clinton’s deposition about the email scandal that’s swirled around her candidacy. And there’s more. Bigger projects include one directed by political documentarian Dinesh D’Souza, another based on best-selling author Peter Schweizer’s book

Megyn Kelly Tackles ‘Bombshell’ That George Stephanopoulos Didn’t Disclose Clinton Foundation Donations (Video)
Megyn Kelly led her Fox News show Thursday by covering the controversy surrounding ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos, who she says “took a big hit” by failing to inform his employer and viewers that he donated $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation. “It’s a bombshell that he was donating to the very foundation that he was cross-examining this author on without disclosing it,” Kelly said about Stephanopoulos pressing conservative author Peter Schweizer on his book, “Clinton Cash,” during an interview last month. Fox News Howard Kurtz told Kelly this is a mistake that could unravel the ABC News anchor’s career. Also Read: George Stephanopoulos.

George Stephanopoulos Apologizes On Air, Discloses Clinton Foundation Donations (Video)
George Stephanopoulos
George Stephanopoulos apologized on-air Friday for not disclosing his $75,000 in donations to the Clinton Foundation between 2012-2014. “I now believe directing personal donations to that foundation was a mistake,” he said, making sure to note that he he did so for the right reasons — helping to fight diseases like AIDS and protecting the environment. Stephanopoulos came under fire Thursday when it was revealed he donated to the Clinton’s global foundation without disclosing the fact to ABC or viewers before interviewing conservative author Peter Schweizer, whose book “Clinton Cash” alleges shady financial dealings coming out of the foundation. ‘Clinton Cash’ Author Makes ‘7 to 8 Factual Corrections’ to New Version of Book
Peter Schweizer
The book “Clinton Cash,” which has been been subject to intense media scrutiny recently, got an update to its Kindle eBook version Thursday in which several factual corrections were made to author Peter Schweizer’s reporting. Amazon users got a blast email stating that “significant revisions have been made.” HarperCollins, Schweitzer’s publisher, specified that “seven or eight” corrections had been made. According to Politico, one section about Bill Clinton has been omitted from the most recent Kindle version completely. The passage reported that Td Bank, which is a principal shareholder in the Keystone Xl oil pipeline, paid the former president for speeches,...

Bill Clinton Fires Back at ‘Clinton Cash’ Author: Doesn’t Have ‘Shred of Evidence’ (Video)
Hillary Clinton
Bill Clinton fired back at “Clinton Cash” author Peter Schweizer in an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour set to air in full on “The Lead” later Wednesday. Schweizer’s book, “Clinton Cash,” has been the subject of much media attention in the last few weeks as it’s laced with allegations that Hillary Clinton made decisions as Secretary of State based on donations to the Clinton Foundation. While speaking to Amanpour, Clinton said Schweizer didn’t have a “shred of evidence” to support his claims. Also Read: Hillary Clinton and Democratic Challengers to Debate Six Times “Even the guy...

Mindy Newell: Look! Up In The Sky!
I am so very tired of it.

Last week fellow ComicMix columnist Molly Jackson wrote about the sexual harassment of cosplayer Mindy Marzac at the most recent Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California. Separately, Frank Cho drew a riff of the “infamous” Milo Manara cover and all hell broke loose.

Separately, country music icon Tim McGraw decided to do a benefit concert for the Sandy Hook Promise charity and suddenly he became persona non grata to the gun lobby while others call for his records to be banned.

Separately, political hack Peter Schweizer was a consultant for Sarah Palin when she was John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 Presidential election, and we’re supposed to take seriously his allegations that Hillary Clinton, as Secretary of State, okayed the sale of Uranium One, a Canadian company with uranium mining claims in the U.S., to Rosatom, a Russian atomic energy agency.

More from Fox News Channel on The Tangled Clinton Web: “Anchored by Fnc’s Bret Baier, the program will examine the political careers of former President of the United States … Continue reading →

Seth Meyers’ Spoofs Anti-Hillary Book: I’m Writing ’50 Shades of Bill’ (Video)
Seth Meyers at an event for Portlandia (2011)
Seth Meyers took on the author of the anti-Hillary Clinton book, Peter Schweizer, Thursday night. “There are only three kinds of books that still sell — books about wizards, books about bondage, and books about Clintons…which is why the next book I’m writing is “50 Shades of Bill: Prisoner of Azkaban.” Meyers’ noted the author of “Clinton Cash” is biased against Clinton, having previously worked as a consultant for the Bush administration, foreign policy advisor to Sarah Palin, and author of several books negative about liberals. Michael J. Hunt: What If Hunter S. Thompson Had Twitter?
Herman Cain
Des Moines, Ia -- Every Presidential election year since 1824 has produced a biography of a candidate who has set his or her sights on the White House. The 2011 election is no different. But a combination of fewer print journalists on the trail, a heavy reliance up to the minute information provided via social media, particularly Twitter, and an overall sense of disillusionment with government and politicians could perhaps signal an end to this tradition.

"The books I am selling the most of these days have to do more with government corruption and budgetary restraint," said John Heitzman on Tuesday.

Heitzman, who spoke by phone from his business, is the owner of The Book Store, a small independent book store just yards from most of the hotels that candidates, campaign staff and media members call home when they make the quadrennial pilgrimage to the state in the lead up to the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucuses.

Palin Filmmaker Bannon Planning Doc on "Crony Capitalism"
Sarah Palin
Right-wing doc-maker Steven Bannon is apparently at it again. After his Sarah Palin doc "The Undefeated" stirred up talk everywhere about the former Alaska governor's popularity (or not) as a viable political contender, Real Clear Politics reports that Bannon is planning on making a new film based on Palin adviser Peter Schweizer's forthcoming book, "Throw Them All Out," which details allegations of ethically dubious insider trading and conflicts of interest among members of Congress.

Palin: Queen of Right-Wing Reaction
Liberals are tempted to rejoice in Palin's candidacy. But as Michael Tomasky argues, we should all dread the effect of her torrent of lies and demagoguery on our politics.

The real sign that Sarah Palin was finally serious about running for president, missed by most, came in early May and was thus buried under the news of the bin Laden killing. But it was then that Ben Smith of Politico first reported that Randy Scheunemann and Michael Goldfarb, her longtime advisers on foreign policy, had fired her, and she'd decided in their stead to shack up with an associate of Andrew Breitbart named Peter Schweizer. Why did this, to the initiated, signal her "seriousness" about running? Precisely because linking arms with Breitbart-world was such an utterly superficial and unserious move, wholly political in nature, and perfectly in keeping with everything we know about the old high-school-basketball-playing elbow-flinger's notion of how one advances in this world.
