Swamp Thing is in need of a big-screen comeback, and acclaimed writer Alan Moore has already provided DC with the perfect story to reboot their resident muck-man. With several movies and TV series, Swamp Thing is surprisingly one of DC’s most adapted characters, but few of those adaptations have truly captured what makes the character special… something that a straight adaptation of “The Anatomy Lesson” could fix.
While Alan Moore’s first issue as writer was Saga of the Swamp Thing #20, it was the following issue where the Watchmen writer’s run truly begins. Joined by artists Steven Bissette and Jon Totleben, Saga of the Swamp Thing #21’s “The Anatomy Lesson” is a perfect self-contained horror story, one that announced Alan Moore as a major talent to watch.

The proposed Green Rider can be added to actors’ contracts in order to state their own sustainability commitments, and to negotiate bolder sustainability standards on set before accepting a job.

James Gunn and Peter Safran have taken the reins of the new DC Universe of movies and TV series, the new cinematic univese born from the ashes of the Dceu that began with 2013’s Man of Steel. Interestingly, the new Dcu will also kick off with the Last Son of Krypton, this time in Gunn’s upcoming Superman: Legacy, starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan. But although Superman: Legacy is set to be the Dcu’s first official installment, Xolo Maridueña’s Blue Beetle has been confirmed to be the “first” Dcu character.

Hollywood and cinephiles alike were shaken by the news that Oscar-winning director William Friedkin passed away at the age of 87. During the 1970s, Friedkin was hailed for leading the pack of a new generation of Hollywood filmmakers due to The French Connection and The Exorcist being released in quick succession.
The latter film would go on to change the face of horror and is largely regarded as one of the scariest, if not the scariest, movies of the genre. The Exorcist is certainly the magnum opus of his directing career, and that's why the upcoming legacy sequel, The Exorcist: Believer, has many horror fans cautiously optimistic about its quality. The pressure of living up to the original was already on the filmmaker's back, but with Friedkin's passing, all eyes will be on the project differently as a proper homage to his legacy.

Great movies often have famous lines, but some classics are best or even only known today for one particular quote. While many screenwriters strive for naturalistic dialogue that doesn't stand out, some of the most iconic moments in cinema come from lines of flowery speech that stick in the audience's mind. Films like The Godfather, The Big Lebowski, and Clueless have tons of quotable lines that have stood the test of time and lasted with their film's legacy.
Some great films, however, are primarily known for one line of dialogue, either because that quote perfectly encapsulates the themes of the movie, or because it's so good that its legacy outlasts its origins. These movie quotes can be funny, heartbreaking, scary, revealing, or even a mix of all of them. What matters is that they have gone down in history, perhaps even single-handedly keeping these great movies in popular culture.

“This is the worst disaster that Maui has ever faced, probably that Hawaii has ever faced,” says Maui native Kainoa Horcajo, a Hawaiian cultural advisor and the co-owner of consultancy The Mo’olelo Group. With the death toll reaching 111, and 1,000 people still unaccounted for amid the devastation and destruction, the Maui disaster is officially the deadliest wildfire in the U.S. since 1918. “Businesses come second. The people and the families are first,” says Horcajo. “We know a lot of people want to come out here. But we need to focus our resources on taking care of our local families, on making sure that our visitor industries, our hotels have the ability to help in the community. That we’re all working together.”

James Bond is dead. Daniel Craig's version, that is. Buried beneath a hail of ballistics at the end of 2021's "No Time To Die," Craig's 007 was the first in the franchise's more than 60-year run to ever die on-screen (and not the fakeout "You Only Live Twice" kind). If you'd merely heard about, rather than witnessed, such an unprecedented and momentous moment in Bond history, you might think Craig's tenure in the tux was the finest the saga had ever seen, fully justifying longtime Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson in their decision to have England's greatest spy Kia. But you'd be wrong.
The prevailing view of the Craig era goes like this: 2006's "Casino Royale" is one of, if not the best Bond movie ever made, but its follow-up, 2008's "Quantum of Solace" was a historic blunder that nearly derailed the whole enterprise just as it was getting started.

Seth Rogen has been a steady presence on the big and small screen for over two decades and is entering a hit franchise with the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, but he has yet to cross over into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, something he says is intentional and comes out of fear.
Speaking with Polygon, Seth Rogen said he has shied away from working with Marvel due to his own process and the structure already in place. “We really have a pretty specific way we work; me and Evan have been writers for 20 years at this point. It’s a fear of the process, honestly. And I say that knowing nothing about the process. There are a lot of Marvel things I love. It’s mostly a fear of how would we plug into the system they have in place, which seems like a very good system, and a...

Fantasy movies are known for telling a story on an epic scale, making it difficult to contain a plot in a single installment. Franchises such as The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter have supported the idea that these fantastical narratives are best in multiple films.
On the other hand, there are some exceptional standalone fantasy films that are perfect as a contained storyline. Films such as The Princess Bride and Stardust are known for approaching the genre with a traditionally fairytale-like scope. Others like Pan's Labyrinth and The Northman add to the genre with dark themes and compelling plotlines. Though these fantastical storylines could be built upon, some things are better left up to the imagination.

Director David Gordon Green plans to make radical choices in "The Exorcist: Believer," avoiding fan service and focusing on the theme of parenting. The upcoming sequel will embrace diverse religious perspectives, moving away from the dominance of Catholicism in previous films. Green aims to make the movie relatable and human, not overly supernatural, and will not include iconic characters from previous films, such as Max Von Sydow.
The Exorcist: Believer director David Gordon Green reveals that his upcoming sequel will seek to avoid relying on fan service. Prior to being tapped to helm the latest continuation of The Exorcist franchise, Green previously co-wrote and directed the most recent Halloween trilogy which followed on directly from John Carpenter’s 1978 horror classic. Originally intended to be a fresh reboot of the property, The Exorcist: Believer was similarly retooled as a direct sequel to its own 1973 movie and will also serve as the...

Friends produced more than 200 episodes between 1994 and 2004. With such a large number of episodes, it's inevitable that some would be held in high regard, while others would get lost in the shuffle. Episodes that stand out include "The One Where Ross Finds Out" and "The Last One," because of the cliffhangers and high stakes in their plotlines.
But there are other episodes that require deeper investigation to see what makes them just as great. There are several Friends episodes that have never quite gotten their due. Yet without these underrated installments, the NBC series wouldn't be as successful as it remains today.

Ryan Reynolds should have been cast as Guy Gardner in Green Lantern instead of Hal Jordan, as his comedic ability and cockiness would have been a better fit for the character. Nathan Fillion's casting in Superman: Legacy as Guy Gardner completes the Green Lantern casting problem. He would have been perfect as Hal Jordan, as he has campaigned for the role and voiced the character in animated films. Hopefully, the new live-action Green Lantern in Superman: Legacy will be an improvement over the previous portrayal.

Warning: this article contains spoilers for The Flash.
The Flash has the potential to overtake Green Lantern in terms of losses because of its opportunity to generate revenue through merchandise sales, which are not accounted for in the current figures. The inclusion of beloved and familiar characters in The Flash, such as Michael Keaton's Batman and Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman, gives it an advantage in merchandise sales compared to Green Lantern, which lacked characters that fans could connect with. Despite being a box office bomb, The Flash still has a chance to recoup some of its losses through merchandise sales and on-demand viewing, potentially making it less of a financial failure than Green Lantern.
Warner Bros.' infamous box office failure, Green Lantern, is now being rivaled for the most money lost by a DC film by The Flash, but the latter does have one silver lining by comparison.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse almost featured a unique Green Goblin variant, including a Ghost Rider-inspired design with a fiery skull face. The movie's unused Green Goblin designs, such as one inspired by artist Mike Mignola, could make an appearance in the trilogy finale, which promises even more multiverse characters. Unfortunately, the release of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has been delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, but this decision was made to ensure the sequel lives up to its potential.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse almost introduced Marvel's coolest Green Goblin of all time. The animated sequel had a quite difficult job, having to be a worthy follow-up to the Academy Award-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. However, the movie easily accomplished its goal, with the Spider-Verse sequel getting even bolder with its exploration of the multiverse, which could have seen the debut of an exciting Green Goblin variant.

Unused concept art for Spider-Man: No Way Home reveals a comics accurate costume for Doctor Octopus, which could have been a game-changer for the character. There may not be another comedy mystery as iconic as the 1985 cult classic, Clue. After all, the film had an all-star cast comprised of Tim Curry, Madeline Khan, Christopher Lloyd, Martin Mall, Lesley Ann Warren and Michael McKean. Additionally, the film delivered some outstanding one-liners that kept viewers engaged and entertained. However, the movie stands out because the entire premise, filled with humor, intrigue and suspense, was built off the titular board game, so the plot was a triumph as an original narrative.
Moreover, due to the success of Barbie at the box office, toy-inspired movies may begin to see a resurgence. If that's the case, Clue must be part of the conversation. As a result, even though the film isn't strictly based on a line of toys, Clue does deserve a sequel.

Update: After Stephen Amell drew controversy for saying “I do not support striking” amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, the “Heels” actor clarified his comments in an Instagram post.
Amell affirmed that his support for the actors union is “unconditional” but added, “Of course I don’t like striking. Nobody does. But we have to do what we have to do.” And addressing his prior remarks about striking being “frustrating” and a “reductive negotiating tactic,” Amell wrote, “I’m an actor and I was speaking extemporaneously for over an hour. I emote, but I certainly don’t think these issues are simple. Our leadership has an incredibly complicated job and I am grateful for all that they do. For this month’s installment of “TV Terrors” we revisit the horror-comedy sitcom “Holliston,” which aired for two seasons on the now-defunct FEARnet in 2012 and 2013.
Adam Green and Joe Lynch are two filmmakers and genuine horror fans who have given their fellow horror fans so much over the years, including some great movies like Mayhem, the Hatchet franchise, and Frozen, as well as the upcoming Suitable Flesh. Among their many contributions to the genre was their horror sitcom, “Holliston.”
The best way to describe the series for the uninitiated would be if “Spaced” had a head on collision with “Friends” and was re-attached into a weird, funny monster. Originally premiering as the first original series on the now defunct FEARnet in 2012, “Holliston” is set in the small town of Holliston, Massachusetts, and stars Adam Green as “Adam” and Joe Lynch as “Joe.” Both stars play fictional versions of themselves that are best friends and roommates.

David Gordon Green revitalised the Halloween franchise and he's attempting to breathe new life into The Exorcist with his new film, The Exorcist: Believer. Halloween achieved that by bringing back Jamie Lee Curtis to her iconic and signature role as Laurie Strode, and Green hopes to replicate that effect by bringing Ellen Burstyn in to reprise her role as Chris MacNeil for the first time in fifty years, the tormented mother of Regan MacNeil, the possessed girl from The Exorcist.

Set to release on October 13, 2023, Universal Pictures has brought horror fans a new installment to The Exorcist franchise. The Exorcist: Believer trailer brought the terror of the original, only with a new twist. This time, two young girls, Katherine (Olivia Marcum) and Angela (Lidya Jewett), are possessed by a demon. Fans are elated to have Ellen Burstyn reprise her role as Chris MacNeil, helping the two families save their daughters through a joint exorcism. However, many are still wondering if Linda Blair's Regan will be appearing in this sequel, as she did not appear in the trailer.
The short answer is yes. The director, David Gordon Green, danced around the conversation in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly. Los Angeles, July 26 (Ians) ‘The Exorcist’ from 1973 is a horror icon and one of the greatest horror movies ever made. While the movie had a bunch of sequels and spin-offs, none of them really managed to up the original. That may just change with the new trailer for ‘The Exorcist: Believer’ looking deliciously spooky, and a delightfully tempting nightmare fuel.
‘Believer’ is set in the same continuity as the original and the trailer tells the story of how a widower Victor Fielding (Leslie Odom Jr.) struggles to save the life of his young daughter Angela (Lidya Jewett) after she and her friend Katherine (Olivia Marcum) vanish suddenly one day only to reappear days later seemingly possessed by demonic entities in a bit of ‘Evil Dead’ style, though not packing its morbid and dark humour.

The Exorcist: Believer's Ellen Burstyn will be more engaged in exorcism culture, according to director David Gordon Green.
Per ComicBook.com, Green spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the latest installment of the supernatural horror franchise that started with 1973's The Exorcist. Following in the footsteps of one of the greatest horror movies of all time is no easy task, but David Gordon Green is ready to give it a shot (again) with The Exorcist: Believer. While speaking with The Wrap, Green discussed the upcoming Exorcist sequel and how he plans to give the franchise a fresh take by exploring “multiple spiritual perspectives.“
“I couldn’t wrap my head around a one-philosophy type of ‘Exorcist’ movie,” David Gordon Green said. After reading about how different religions tackle the idea of possession, he came across the idea of synchronized possession. “My mind was blown and I started making phone calls and started talking to the quote, unquote experts because it’s a very unique subject matter and people have experienced things or claimed to have experienced things,” Green said. “And I just wanted to invite all these voices and stories and theories into my creative whirlpool.

Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions’ first trailer for The Exorcist: Believer is the stuff of nightmares. 1973’s The Exorcist stands as the scariest horror film in history, and the trailer appears to confirm Believer is a worthy addition to the franchise. Ellen Burstyn reprising her role as Chris – and the inclusion of “Tubular Bells” – signals a legitimate return to the world William Peter Blatty created in his 1971 bestselling novel.
In addition to Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn, The Exorcist: Believer stars Tony winner and Oscar nominee Leslie Odom, Jr., Lidya Jewett, Olivia Marcum, Emmy winner Ann Dowd, Grammy winner Jennifer Nettles, and two-time Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz.
The Exorcist, with an $11 million budget, grossed $441 million during its theatrical run. Directed by William Friedkin, the R-rated horror film earned 10 Oscar nominations and won two – Best Adapted Screenplay and Sound. Exorcist II: The Heretic followed in 1977 with Linda Blair reprising her role as Regan MacNeil.

The Exorcist: Deceiver, a sequel to this fall's The Exorcist: Believer, has been announced, with a release date of April 18, 2025. The Exorcist: Believer is a direct sequel to the original Exorcist, but will acknowledge all films in the franchise canon. With the early announcement of The Exorcist: Deceiver, it's clear that Believer director David Gordon Green has a plan to revitalize the franchise and deliver a terrifying possession story.
A sequel to The Exorcist: Believer has received a title and a 2025 premiere date following the release of the latest upcoming movie's trailer. The Exorcist: Believer sees two children become possessed by a demonic force, including Angela Fielding (Lidya Jewett), the daughter of Leslie Odom Jr.'s Victor. Desperate to find out how to save his daughter and her friend Catherine, Victor searches for Chris MacNeil (Ellen Burstyn), whose daughter Regan was possessed in The Exorcist.

David Gordon Green, Universal, and Blumhouse previously teamed up to bring us a new "Halloween" trilogy with "Halloween," "Halloween Kills," and "Halloween Ends." Now they're trying it again with a different horror franchise — "The Exorcist." The first film in this new trilogy is "The Exorcist: Believer," which brings back Ellen Burstyn as Chris MacNeil, a person who knows a thing or two about exorcisms.
The trailer for "The Exorcist: Believer" dropped online today, and it looks ... okay. I like Green's "Halloween" trilogy, so I'm curious to see what he does here. And I like the idea of not one but two possessed kids to deal with. But it remains to be seen how this will turn out — and if it'll even warrant a trilogy. Whether or not it warrants one is moot, I suppose, since the trilogy is happening. And the second film already has a title and a release date.

Universal and Blumhouse have today unveiled the first trailer for The Exorcist: Believer — the first film in a new trilogy following up the 1973 horror classic, The Exorcist — at the same time setting an April 18, 2025 nationwide release for follow-up film The Exorcist: Deceiver.
While Deceiver currently sits alone in its opening weekend slot, Believer will open on October 13th of this year opposite the drama Ordinary Angels from Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company, which stars Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson.
Directed by David Gordon Green, who has most recently made his mark on another iconic horror franchise in Halloween, The Exorcist: Believer‘s protagonist is Victor Fielding, who, since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago, has raised their daughter Angela (Lidya Jewett) on his own. But when Angela and her friend Katherine (Olivia Marcum) disappear in the woods, only to return three...
