- He was a founding member of the influential indiepop band My Bloody Valentine, which was named for the 1981 slasher movie Meurtres à la St-Valentin (1981).
- Was allegedly almost single-handedly responsible for Creation Records going bankrupt in the early 1990s when he went a year over schedule and £500,000 over budget while recording and engineering My Bloody Valentine's final album, "Loveless," which was released in 1991.
