Percy Jackson & the Olympians is one of the biggest children's fantasy stories out there, and all the books in Rick Riordan's series are action-packed and fun to read whether it's for the first time or while revisiting them. The concept of Greek gods and monsters existing in a modern world is intriguing on its own, and watching young demigods navigate that setup is even more entertaining. Percy's journey over the first five Percy Jackson books brings readers on a fantastical adventure full of heart, and it will stay with readers long after they've put the story down.
Riordan's newest Percy Jackson & the Olympians books pick up with Percy as a senior in high school, reminding viewers why they love this series yet again. Of course, not all Percy Jackson books are created equal; as with any series, some installments are stronger and more memorable than others. Unlike some fantasy series,...

The odds of a Percy Jackson and the Olympians multiverse happening are unlikely, albeit not completely impossible.
Speaking to People, Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan teased what lies in store for the Disney+ show's second season and why he wanted to differentiate these portrayals of Percy, Annabeth, and Grover from their big-screen counterparts. "It was a very conscious decision that we said, 'Okay, we're not going to deal with the movie stuff.' I don't want anything to overshadow the new young cast and take away from them," Riordan explained. "This needs to be their moment, and we need to give them room to breathe and be these characters without worrying about anything that came before."

I am braced for heartbreak after Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2's Thalia Grace casting. As a daughter of Zeus (Lance Reddick), and given her history with Annabeth Chase (Leah Jeffries), Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri), and Luke Castellan (Charlie Bushnell), Thalia is poised to be a pivotal character in the series. I was glad that season 1 took time to briefly establish what happened to Thalia, informing both Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell) and the audience that she sacrificed herself to save her friends and was transformed into a pine tree that now protects Camp Half-Blood.
The Sea of Monsters, which is what season 2 will adapt, ends with the Golden Fleece healing the poisoned tree, with this magic leading to Thalia being expelled from it. Zeus' daughter only appears at the end of the book, though. However, since Smart has already been confirmed to be playing Thalia in Percy Jackson season...

Emily in Paris season 4, part 2 has viewers wondering more about the newly introduced Genevive and the actor who plays her, Thalia Besson. For the most part, Emily in Paris' cast of characters didn't change too much in the fourth outing. Aside from Genevive, Laurent G's (Arnaud Binard) daughter, Emily's new love interest, Marcello Muratori (Eugenio Franceschini), was the biggest addition to the rom-com's ensemble. Given Emily in Paris season 4, part 2's ending, it seems like both Genevive and Marcello will have even more significant roles in the show's fifth season.
In the wake of a devastating breakup with Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), Emily (Lily Collins) tries even harder to keep her personal and professional lives separate. Although that seems to work for a little while, Marcello's family business, the Umberto Muratori cashmere company, complicates things. With Sylvie's encouragement, Emily winds up pitching the Agence Grateau marketing form to the Muratori family.

A storm is brewing in the second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, as the show has just cast its most important character, Thalia, the demi-god daughter of Zeus. The hit Disney+ series has breathed new life into Rick Riordan's series. The novels were first adapted into movies, starring Logan Lerman as the titular demi-god. The sequel, Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters closed by teasing the introduction of Thalia (Paloma Kwiatkowski), but after the film series was canceled by 20th Century Studios, fans were desperately left waiting to watch one of the coolest characters in the series arrive in live-action. Well, the wait is nearly over, as Thalia will appear in the upcoming second season.

Thalia Grace is finally coming to Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Disney+ confirmed via a press statement that Tamara Smart will play Thalia in Percy Jackson season 2, an adaptation of Rick Riordan's second Percy Jackson novel, The Sea of Monsters. Smart's audition was heavily praised by Riordan, who declared in the statement, "Thalia Grace is one of the most important characters in the Percy Jackson universe, so the right casting was critical. Thalia is a powerful warrior, a fiercely loyal friend, and a demigod rebel with a very 'punk' / 'rage-against-the-machine' sensibility. As soon as we saw Tamara Smart play this role, we knew we had found our daughter of Zeus. She was, no pun intended, electric. Tamara puts the 'grace' in Thalia Grace!"

Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 has cast their Thalia, with a star from Netflix's Resident Evil TV show taking up the role in the book series adaptation. Percy Jackson season 1 ended with the main characters safely leaving Camp Half-Blood and going their separate ways, intent on returning the year after for more quests and adventures together. Season 2 will be adapting the second book in the series, The Sea of Monsters, which includes the physical introduction of Thalia, a daughter of Zeus who was Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Luke's (Charlie Bushnell) friend.
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Tamara Smart, best known for her role as young Jade Wesker in Resident Evil, will be portraying Thalia in Percy Jackson, who was turned into a tree helping Annabeth and Luke arrive safely in Camp Half-Blood. She will have a recurring role in season 2, meaning it's unclear for now how many episodes she'll appear in.

Season two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians has cast another important role.
Tamara Smart (Netflix’s Resident Evil) is joining the series based on author Rick Riordan’s Greek mythology-laden novels as Thalia Grace, the demigod daughter of Zeus. She’ll recur in season two, which is in production and slated for a 2025 premiere.
Smart is the latest addition to the season two cast. Daniel Diemer, who plays Tyson the cyclops, will be a series regular alongside Walker Scobell (Percy), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth), Aryan Simhadri (Grover), Charlie Bushnell (Luke) and Dior Goodjohn (Clarisse). Sandra Bernhard, Kristen Schaal and Margaret Cho will have guest roles as the Gray Sisters.
In Riordan’s novels, Thalia is a friend of Annabeth and Luke who sacrifices herself so they can reach Camp Half-Blood safely. Zeus intervenes to stop Thalia from dying, turning her into a tree that anchors the protective veil around the camp.

Last year, producer/director Louisa Warren announced that she was working on two fractured fairy tale horror movies, Cinderella’s Curse and Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre. Now our friends at Bloody Disgusting have revealed that Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre has been given a VOD release – but it’s not called Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre anymore. The movie can be found on VOD under the title Ouija Castle, and if you want to watch it on Amazon, it’s at This Link. A trailer for the film can be viewed in the embed above.
Coming our way from ChampDog Films and filmed in Scotland, Sleeping Beauty’s Massacre / Ouija Castle was scripted by Jasmine Ebony Thomas and tells the following story: The beautiful Princess Thalia is thrown to ruins after her father’s mysterious death. She lives with Prince Edison who she is in love with but can no longer marry since losing her status.

Series creator Rick Riordan announced the news himself in a video message to those in attendance at San Diego Comic-Con, during the show’s Hall H panel on Thursday. Diemer also filmed a video message expressing his excitement to join the show as the cyclops.
Diemer is best known for playing Paul Munsky in Netflix’s “The Half of It,” and most recently starred as Scott Bentland in “Under the Bridge” alongside Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough.
Season 2 of the “Percy Jackson” adaptation will follow the second book in the series, “The Sea of Monsters.” In the books, Percy learns that he has a half-brother only when he goes on a quest for the golden fleece. Because Poseidon fathered Tyson with a nymph, Tyson is actually a cyclops.

Warning: this article contains spoilers for the second Percy Jackson novel, The Sea of Monsters
Season 2 of Percy Jackson should consider changing Tantalus to maintain a light-hearted tone. Tonal and character changes from the books, like Percy's stepfather, enhanced the adaptation and should be repeated with Tantalus. Altering Tantalus' actions could strengthen other characters like Clarisse La Rue.
Following the renewal of Percy Jackson and The Olympians, the series should consider changing key characters from the books to help continue to strengthen the on-screen adaptation. Rick Riordan has already confirmed that the TV show's next season will follow the events of the second book, The Sea of Monsters, which means that there will be several new characters appearing in Percy Jackson's season two. However, there is one character in particular that should be approached with caution.

Award-winning Colombian director-producer Simon Brand and Miami-based media executive producer Daniel Eilemberg have joined forces with the founders of Emmy-winning Imaginer Films, Julio César and Laura Franco, to launch Clover Studios, a new production services company in Colombia.
The new enterprise is in response to Colombia’s phenomenal growth as a major production center, driven by its competitive production incentives and flourishing creative community.
Led by Netflix’s ambitious series adaptation of Nobel Laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s literary masterpiece “100 Years of Solitude,” which has entailed a full-scale recreation of the mythical village of Macondo and 20,000 extras, a number of high-profile projects have been lured to the country.
Just last year, upcoming sequel “Paddington in Peru” was mostly shot in Colombia instead of the country in its title. This month Netflix announced its first multi-year creative partnership with Colombian talent, the writer-director team Camilo Prince and Pablo González, whose thriller “The Hijacking of Flight 601,...

A sci-fi road trip steeped unevenly in grief, “We’re All Gonna Die” introduces its concept in exciting fashion before pushing it far into the background. Its lead performances are occasionally powerful, but writer-directors Freddie Wong and Matthew Arnold — of web-based studio RocketJump — struggle to keep their subject matter sincere, resulting in tonal oddities.

Season 2 will adapt author Rick Riodan's The Sea of Monsters, which sees the trio of heroes questing after the Golden Fleece. Like season 1, season 2 will likely be very faithful to Riordan's source materials.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians' Aryan Simhadri has a casting choice in mind for one fan-favorite demigod.
"This is something me and Walker [Scobell] talk about almost 24/7. Like every time we call, we have some discussion about fan castings," Simhadri said in an interview with The Direct following Percy Jackson's season finale. The actor then revealed key scenes he's looking forward to seeing in a The Sea of Monsters-inspired season 2, including Grover Underwood in a wedding dress on Polyphemus' island and the debut of Zeus' daughter Thalia Grace. As for who should play the character, Simhadri suggested Momona Tamada -- who appeared with Scobell in Paramount+'s Secret Headquarters -- as someone who would "make a pretty cool Thalia."

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1.
Annabeth's choice to return to her father in season 1 was subtly foreshadowed by the presence of a golden ring on her necklace. In the book, Annabeth explains that the ring was a gift from her father who also sent a letter with it asking her to return home. Despite the camp necklaces not being as big a focus in the Percy Jackson TV show, their subtle inclusion proves the show's dedication to being faithful to the source material.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 1, episode 2 secretly hinted at Annabeth's fate from the show's ending. Some of the biggest questions going into Percy Jackson season 1's ending concerned how the characters would be left off for future seasons. The titular Percy Jackson returned to live with his mother in New York City, vowing to come back to Camp Half-Blood next summer.

Walker Scobell is looking forward to Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2. While the series is not yet renewed, the young star has shared his hopes for the potential second season with TV Insider ahead of the Season 1 finale, debuting on Tuesday, January 30 at 9/8c on Disney+.
