Speaking to People, Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan teased what lies in store for the Disney+ show's second season and why he wanted to differentiate these portrayals of Percy, Annabeth, and Grover from their big-screen counterparts. "It was a very conscious decision that we said, 'Okay, we're not going to deal with the movie stuff.' I don't want anything to overshadow the new young cast and take away from them," Riordan explained. "This needs to be their moment, and we need to give them room to breathe and be these characters without worrying about anything that came before."

I am braced for heartbreak after Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2's Thalia Grace casting. Smart is the latest addition to the season two cast. Rachael Lillis, voice actor for Pokémon’s Misty and Team Rocket’s Jessie, has died. She was 46.

Lillis died on August 10 after being diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2024. Her Pokémon co-star, Veronica Taylor, shared a post on social media following Lillis’ death.

“We all know Rachael Lillis from the many wonderful roles she played. She filled our Saturday mornings and before/after school hours with her beautiful voice, her terrific comic timing, and her remarkable acting skills,” Taylor, who voices Ash Ketchum in the animé series, shared on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Diemer is best known for playing Paul Munsky in Netflix’s “The Half of It,” and most recently starred as Scott Bentland in “Under the Bridge” alongside Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough.

The Mexican American musician will share the hosting mic with stars Alejandra Espinoza, Carlos Ponce, and Thalia, and will also perform her recent single “Mercedes” alongside Oscar Maydon.

The Mexican-American singer will serve as a host for the show, airing April 25 on Univision and its sibling networks, alongside previously announced talents Alejandra Espinoza, an actor and presenter; Carlos Ponce, a singer-songwriters and TV personality; and singer Thalia.

Becky G also will perform her new song, “Mercedes,” during the 2024 Latin AMAs alongside Mexican music artist Oscar Maydon, who is featured on the track. Becky G, who has won a total of eight Latin AMAs over her career, is nominated this year for best collaboration, urban, for “Arranca,” featuring Omega.
