Govind Menon’s Khwahish, released on June 6 , 2003, was an oddity. It not only ripped off Arthur Hiller’s 1970 blockbuster Love Story, it also literally translated every dialogue of the original.

Although the dialogues, like most of everything else in this film, have been transcreated wholesale from Erich Segal’s epoch-making novel Love Story, the dialogue writer Shashi Wadia takes credit for the words that the Ryan O’Neal-Ali MacGraw clones are made to speak by director Govind Menon in his second feature film.

Of course, the peppy MacGraw called O’Neal ‘Preppie’ in Love Story. Her clone, Mallika Sherawat, calls Himanshu Mallik ‘Sethji’ instead.

Superstar Akshay Kumar is familiar with being in the news, some of which is not always good. A man has been arrested by the Mumbai Police, for trying to defraud a social media influencer by pretending to be an employee of Kumar’s Production house, Cape Of Good Films. This fake casting agent was trying to sign on the influencer, by luring her in for an alleged untitled movie on the Nirbhaya case. But as per reports, thanks to the quick thinking of the influencer, his schemes have led to his arrest.

Cape of Good Films is a well-known production house helmed by Kumar. Earlier known as Hari Om Entertainment, it has produced hits like Singh Is King, Mission Mangal, Airlift, Good Newz, and more.

Filmmaker Anees Bazmee revealed why he thought of casting Nana Patekar for the role of Uday Shetty in his comedy film “Welcome” knowing the fact that the actor is more popular for his serious roles.

Social media influencer Uorfi Javed was summoned by the Mumbai Police to record her statement in connection with a complaint lodged by Maharashtra Bjp Vice-President Chitra Wagh, alleging ‘public indecency’, here on Saturday.

Javed, along with one of her associates, went to the Amboli police station, where her statement was recorded, an officer said.

In a high -profile drug racket case allegedly involving Kannada movie stars and others, the Bengaluru Police City Crime Branch (Ccb) has taken actress Sanjjanaa Galrani into custody and taken her to Police headquarters for questioning.
