Film News Roundup: Michael B. Jordan’s ‘Without Remorse’ Pushed to October
Michael B. Jordan
In today’s film news roundup, Michael B. Jordan’s “Without Remorse” and the fourth “Jackass” movie are delayed, “Algorithm: Bliss” gets a release date, “Bad Trip” is released briefly, and AFI gets a $3 million gift.

Release Dates

Paramount Pictures has decided to move its Michael B. Jordan spy thriller “Without Remorse” back two weeks from Sept. 18 to Oct. 2.

Paramount made the move on Wednesday following Sony’s decision to vacate the date for the release of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” and move the supervillain sequel to June 2021.

Tom Clancy’s “Without Remorse” was first published in 1993 and is an origin story about John Kelly, a Navy Seal who avenges his wife’s murder only to find himself inside a larger conspiracy.

Stefano Sollima is directing the film, which also stars Brett Gelman, Jodie Turner-Smith, Jamie Bell, Jacob Scipio, Jack Kesy, Todd Lasance, Luke Mitchell and Cam Gigandet.

Ascent to Hell Brings You into a Fiery Grave: First Poster
The indie horror title Ascent to Hell has been completed. Recently, the film was at Cannes, France. Here, Ascent to Hell was shown before sales agent Apl Films. As well, the film was shown to distributors, for a future release. This title looks at a real life tragedy, the New York Triangle Factory Fire, in which hundreds of workers were killed or injured, while working in a rundown sweatshop. The film, from director Dena Hysell, stars Azura Skye (One Missed Call), Bill Sage (We Are What We Are), John Randall Hennigan (aka WWE’s Johnny Nitro) and Cayleb Long. The film's first ominous graphic is hosted here. The story begins with Kate (Skye). She is set to close a lucrative real estate deal, with a wealthy investment manager (Sage). However, the plans are put to the side as the duo experience strange going-ons, in an old building. Now, they must...

Women in Horror Month Teaming with Gratwick Films to Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Research
What would horror be like without women? It would suck ass. Sure, a big guy is intimidating, but women as killers (or their creators) make everything so much more interesting. Which is why we're happy to remind you it's Women in Horror Month, time to give blood - and cash - to charity.

As it has in the past, Women in Horror Month is sponsoring a Massive Blood Drive as a way to motivate us to get out and give blood - the medical way so it can be reused, not the splatter all over the floor way! To book an appointment, call 1-888-z-donate.

In addition Gratwick Films has taken up the charitable torch and started a fundraising campaign for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation based around its film The Perfect House.

Women in Horror Month, led by founder Hannah Neurotica, is now in its third year and going strong.

Trailer: Jenna Fischer Needs ‘A Little Help’
Although we all know her from The Office, Jenna Fischer and dipped her toe into the film world with supporting roles in such films as Blades of Glory, Walk Hard, and most recently, Hall Pass. Her next film, in wihch she has a lead role, actually did a festival run in 2010 and will now see a limited release. From The King of Queens executive producer and writer Michael J. Weithorn comes A Little Help. It looks like a perfectly harmless, if predicable, light comedy. I don’t trust any recommendation from Pete Hammond, but I may eventually check this out.

Fischer stars next to Chris O’Donnell, Rob Benedict, Daniel Yelsky, Kim Coates, Brooke Smith, Lesley Ann Warren, Ron Leibman , Zach Page, Arden Myrin, Aida Turturro, Michelle Hurst , Michael J. Weithorn, Dena Hysell, and Joe Gressis. Check out the trailer and poster below via Apple.

Mickey Rourke heads to 'St. Vincent'
Mickey Rourke
Mickey Rourke is going from taking hits in the ring to doling out hits himself.

He'll play a hit man who returns to New York to complete a botched hit. Masquerading as a priest, he finds himself hearing the confession of the man who he is targetting.

Walter Hill, who directed Rourke in the 1989 gangster tale "Johnny Handsome," is helming the project, based on an original script by Cameron Young.

Production is slated to begin later this year. Stuart Ford's Im Global is currently selling international rights outside of North America, while Icm, which also reps Rourke and Hill, handles North American rights.

Occupant's Keith Calder, Joe Neurauter and Felipe Marino and Secret Handshake's Dena Hysell and Joe Gressis will produce.

L.A.-based Occupant most recently produced the...
