Sensitive and nuanced, Katarina Zhu’s directorial debut Bunnylovr is a compelling character study that never quite makes sense of the messy life of personal assistant by day / cam girl by night Becca (Zhu). Perhaps that is the point, although the film often edges close to something fascinating only to backpedal––perhaps a feature more than a flaw of Becca, a millennial who finds herself stuck. She’s initially drawn to a mysterious client who first refuses to go on camera with her. The Philly native sends her a rare bunny in the mail to keep her company and then insists on her putting on a show. The connection appears to be driven more by loneliness and isolation than pure fetish, but the film leaves the stranger’s motivations somewhat ambiguous until he lays down the ground rules, at one point telling her this is a transaction.

Writer, director and star Katarina Zhu’s feature debut is a personal portrait of fulfillment, bringing a nuanced perspective to universal themes of daddy issues, privilege and self-love.
In Bunnylovr, Zhu plays Becca, a twentysomething Chinese American who struggles through life in New York City while moonlighting as a cam girl. Her life takes a turn when a persistent client sends her a live bunny, whom she names Milk. Meanwhile, she runs into her estranged, dying father on the street.
Being fetishized and objectified by everyone in her life quickly takes a toll on Becca. She’s her father William’s (Perry Yung) lucky charm, helping him count cards in the park; she’s her best friend Bella’s (Rachel Sennott) muse, even though the artist ultimately makes her feel violated with her “feminist” creative license; her ex Carter (Jack Kilmer) strings her along as she struggles to move on...

The relationships between humans and animals are mutually beneficial. Feeding a pet is a reason to get out of bed in the morning; taking them out is an excuse to get dressed, go outside, and get some sun. And although she didn’t ask for the responsibility, taking care of a sweet, fluffy white rabbit with enormous eyes is exactly what the protagonist of Katarina Zhu’s “Bunnylovr” needs.
Rebecca (Zhu) is having what you might call a quarter-life crisis. Nearly friendless and struggling to pay rent, she supplements her income as a personal assistant with the money she makes chatting with guys and posting pictures of her feet on a camming website. It’s one of her clients who sends her the rabbit, actually; it’s a weird thing to do, and given the violent arc stories about sex work often take in media, the anticipation is sickening whenever...

If you don’t know a great deal about bunnies apart from their cuteness, a piece of rabbit-centric trivia you will learn in writer-director Katarina Zhu’s debut feature “Bunnylovr” might just break your heart. Turns out, when bunnies experience a considerable amount of stress or a sudden burst of fear, they might go into a state of shock: Their soft bodies become limp, their floppy ears get cold, and if untreated, they can even die from it.
Rest assured, there are no gruesome bunny deaths to worry about in Zhu’s intimate yet slight portrait of New York-based Chinese American cam-girl Rebecca, delicately portrayed by Zhu herself. But existential dreads and visceral gusts of panic are quietly (and symbolically) everywhere in the film, as Rebecca drifts through her dead-end day job as a personal assistant, and her alternate persona by night as an online sex worker. Warning! Spoilers ahead for The Boys!Any fan of Amazon’s The Boys knows that the show has gotten away with a lot of fight scenes that are bloody, brutal, and just plain cringe-inducing. However, some moments from the source material go further than the live-action show would ever dream.
From the very first issue, The Boys’ subversive takedown of the superhero genre is filled with scenes and fights that will have most turning their heads. And while the fan-favorite TV show has done its best to keep the spirit of the comic alive, the following ten moments are simply too over-the-top to ever been adapted faithfully.
The following list contains mentions of graphic deaths.
The Boys' Attack on the Maverickz Was Just Bone-Chilling As Seen In: The Boys #31

The Boys Season 5 Set Photos Confirm Major Plot Point; Reveal First Look At New Supe Team - Spoilers
In the season 4 finale of The Boys, Homelander took a major step towards taking full control of the United States by removing all political obstacles and rounding-up his enemies, including Mother's Milk, Frenchie, Kimiko, and Hughie (only Starlight and Butcher remain at large).
It was strongly hinted that Homelander's plan would involve interning those who opposed him in prison camps, and we now have confirmation that "Freedom Camps" will indeed be employed for this purpose.
These latest set photos reveal adverts for the camps on the sides of some buses, which also provide a first look at new Supe team, Teenage Kix.
This group is a parody of the likes of the Young Avengers and Teen Titans, and counts A-Train, Sister Sage and the late Popclaw among its former members. In the comics, the roster also includes Big Game, Jetstreak, Hyperion, Shout Out and Mesme.
Check out the photos at the link below.

Make-up design doesn’t always mean prosthetics or extremes — that’s why the Emmy Awards smartly single out contemporary make-up design as its own category. But too often, those more immediately arresting designs are the ones that get all the attention. Not anymore. Join IndieWire in celebrating the make-up artists creating subtle, character-specific work for contemporary characters with our series, “Making Up Is Hard to Do.”
Look, sometimes subtlety is for the weak.
“What We Do in the Shadows” has always been the rare delight of a comedy set in a contemporary setting that still gets to play with a cornucopia of mixed-up period details and fantastic monsters. It is as big and broad as it can be, in part because the comedy lives in its contrast between ordinary Staten Islanders and the Vampire Residence that has so fascinated us, and also, apparently, the Maysles brothers.

Sean Penn, the Oscar-winning star of Mystic River, Milk, and Dead Man Walking, has decided to play some hardball before awards season officially begins. The outspoken actor had some choice words for the Academy and Hollywood, the latter of which he called "afraid" of acknowledging the Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice.
Penn appeared at the Marrakech Film Festival where he received an honorary award for his decades-long career. Per Variety, Penn used the opportunity to slam the Academy for looking down on Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice, a film about Trump’s relationship with Roy Cohn during his early years as a real estate mogul in New York City. At first, Penn blasted the organization for having such biased criteria:

Sean Penn is not done torching the Oscars. First, he threatened to literally smelt his Oscar statues over politics. And this year, the filmmaker is slamming what he called the “extraordinary cowardice” of those who vote for the Academy Awards in general — especially when it comes to boundary-pushing features.
“The Academy have exercised really extraordinary cowardice when it comes to being part of the bigger world of expression, and in fact, have largely been part of limiting the imagination and very limiting of different cultural expressions,” Penn said during the Marrakech Film Festival (via Variety), where he received a lifetime achievement award. “So I don’t get very excited about what we’ll call the Academy Awards [except for] when a film like ‘The Florida Project,’ or ‘I’m Still Here’ [are nominated], or, you know, ‘Emilia Perez,’ of the things that are likely to happen this year.”

Since the first season of The Boys, the show has been unafraid to explore the ugly sides of its complex characters. Various characters have some uncomfortable and unusual traits that turn people off while also making them weirdly interesting and unique. Homelander’s perverse obsession with milk and Deep’s relationship with Timothy were some outrageous traits.

There are several moments in The Boys that have left a lasting impression on their fans. However, none have been as iconic as Herogasm. The episode was teased as being absolutely disgusting, weeks before its release, and it did not disappoint in that category in the least. There are several moments throughout the episode that make it difficult to watch, and it concludes with one of the most epic fight sequences throughout the series.

The Boys is most definitely not a program that's recommended for children, but that doesn't mean the series can't have its own licensed toys made by Fisher-Price. A new Little People set based on The Boys has been created, as unveiled by series showrunner Eric Kripke.
The unveiling was posted to Kripke's account on X. "Dreams do come true," he said in the caption, also noting how the fourth season of The Boys will debut on June 13. Also included was a video that showcased Kripke opening a box to take a look at a six-pack of Little People toys, including three Supes along with three members of the titular group. Though it's not a crystal clear look, it can be seen that the set includes Homelander (Antony Starr), Starlight (Erin Moriarty), Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid), and Mother's Milk (Laz Alonso).

The first Iron Man film led by Robert Downey Jr. in 2008 served as the launchpad for the Marvel Cinematic Universe that became a name synonymous with success. The idea of a flamboyant billionaire who built himself a suit of armor from metal scraps in a cave resonated with the audience, becoming a solid foundation for the superhero franchise that we know and adore.

The Boys is one of the most popular superhero series in the world at this moment. The twisted take on the superhero genre, adapted from the comic book of the same name, became a major hit for Amazon Prime and a series that has pushed the boundaries of what can be shown on TV in more ways than one. After three successful seasons and a spin-off series, the fourth season of The Boys is coming back later this year, with the premiere scheduled for June 13, 2024 but today, a month before the upcoming season’s premiere, we have received confirmation that The Boys have been renewed for Season 5, which is absolutely amazing!
Not much has been revealed at this point, but Amazon has released a short teaser video featuring Kimiko, which confirms the renewal. As you might have guessed, we are going to show this teaser to you in the upcoming paragraphs.

Spoilers for The Boys (full series) ahead!
The Boys, the superhero satire by Garth Ennis which ran from 2006 to 2012, was one of the most unrelentingly brutal comic book series ever created. While most of its cast of violent psychopaths got some degree of comeuppance before the series concluded, the book was also known for dispatching fan favorite characters with devastating regularity.
As grotesque as it seemed early on, the moral arc of The Boys universe invariably did bend toward justice as the series reached the end of its seventy-two issue run. With most of its characters getting what they deserved in the end, it is worth considering those few who appeared in the comic and somehow managed not to deserve to die, or at least to die a little less painfully.

The Boys season 4 promises to be full of twists and major reveals, but one storyline could see Marvin T. Milk, aka Mother's Milk's mysterious nickname, explained. Introduced as a reluctant associate of Billy Butcher in The Boys season 1, M.M. has a complicated relationship with Butcher's band of vigilantes. He initially loses his family over rejoining Butcher but sees an upswing when his criminal charges are cleared after Stormfront is taken down. The Boys season 3 saw a greater emphasis on M.M.'s character due to his personal relationship with Soldier Boy, and after his wife Monique sees it's eating him up, she allows him to return to The Boys.
Despite this renewed focus on M.M. in The Boys, the origins behind his nickname aren't revealed. However, The Boys season 3 did give a clue about his nickname, seeing Laz Alonso's character shaking and drinking a milk-like substance in his apartment.

Many of the most important queer films in cinema history share a birthplace: the Sundance Film Festival. Organized by the Sundance Institute, the legendary annual fest in Park City, Utah, has boasted international and U.S. premiere titles as varied as the groundbreaking New York ballroom documentary Paris Is Burning in 1991, Donna Deitch’s 1985 lesbian road drama Desert Hearts or even recent masterworks like Luca Guadagnino’s 2017 adaptation of Call Me by Your Name.
The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Kim Yutani, director of programming at Sundance, about some of the most important Lgbtqia+ films to debut there.
“Seeing the films that Sundance has programmed over the years, especially around the early 1990s with the New Queer Wave, that was what attracted me to Sundance,” says Yutani, who’s been working with the festival for 17 years, and has also worked in various positions within the film industry, like as Gregg Araki...

Gaslit also incorporates the stories of other chief figures of the era such as White House attorney John Dean, Attorney General John N. Mitchell, and G. Gordon Liddy, the leader of the Democratic National Committee burglary at the Watergate Complex.
Like many other fact-based stories that explore the Watergate scandal, the Gaslit cast largely includes actors playing real-life personalities. Even though Nixon is kept in the shadows, Gaslit puts the spotlight on its central figure as well as the lawyers, FBI agents,...

The Ang Lee-directed Brokeback Mountain is one of the most influential movies of the 2000s, but so many behind-the-scenes issues almost kept the profound film from ever being made. At the 78th Academy Awards, when Paul Haggis’ Crash was announced as the Best Picture winner, there was an audible gasp throughout the venue. Pretty much everyone in there – including the award’s announcer, Jack Nicholson – was expecting Ang Lee’s Brokeback Mountain to win. Lee’s film was a beautiful, tragic love story, a stepping stone for LGBTQ+ representation in mainstream Hollywood cinema, and undeniably one of the finest movies of 2005.
Crash isn't a bad movie, but it's a lot more heavy-handed and a lot less emotionally resonant than the cowboy movie, and Brokeback Mountain changed cinema forever. The Best Picture winner certainly doesn't hold up as well as the Brokeback Mountain either. However, given the subject matter of Brokeback Mountain,...
