24x36 Trailer: A Movie About Movie Posters
Joe Dante in Burying the Ex (2014)
The first trailer and poster have been released for 24x36: A Movie About Movie Posters, which will debut on the Tribeca Shortlist streaming service starting July 11. The trailer features a number of actual movie poster artists, along with director Joe Dante, who reveals that, when he was a kid, the movie posters that were hanging up in his local theater served as his first connection to these upcoming films, and that these posters would gauge how movie fans planned out the next few months of their lives. This trailer goes on to feature a number of the iconic illustrated posters that fans have come to love, and how this art form has largely died out over the years.

This trailer debuted on the Tribeca Shortlist YouTube, and we also have the poster for this movie about movie posters. As one would expect, the poster features homages to several iconic posters of the past,...

Fright Rags to Release My Bloody Valentine (1981) Apparel Collection
It’s that time of year for candy hearts, bouquets of roses, and, if you’re a fan of My Bloody Valentine, bloody pickaxes. From Ben at Fright Rags: “Growing up, I was a fan of slasher movies more than any other of the various sub-genres of horror. If there was a deranged guy in a mask killing co-eds, I wanted to watch it. And goodness knows that the early 80s had their share of these films…

Of the many one off slashers (i.e. non-franchise flicks), My Bloody Valentine is probably my favorite. There’s something about it; perhaps the believable characters, interesting kills, or maybe the...

Trailer for Movie Poster Doc - Twenty-four By Thirty-six
This is a trailer for a great looking documentary on the history of movie posters calledTwenty-Four By Thirty-Six. It was directed by Kevin Burke and it will take us through the history of movie posters from their earliest conception, through the golden age of Hollywood, all the way to the limited edition screen prints that are being created independently by artists from all over the world. This looks like it could be a really interesting doc.

/Film reached out to the director of the film, who offered the following statement:

"I’m really excited about where Twenty-Four by Thirty-Six is headed and how far it’s come along – we’re about 80% of the way through production and couldn’t be happier with the way the story has come together. One of the most incredible things about documentary is that no matter how much you research, once you start rolling you...
