Suryapal Singh, hailing from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, is a talented writer and lyricist known for his impactful storytelling and creative versatility. An alumnus of the prestigious "Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune", Singh honed his craft in screenwriting and began his journey in the Indian entertainment industry.
In 2012, he moved to Mumbai and started his career as a writer for "Star TV's youth channel - Channel [V]", where he contributed for four years. After gaining valuable experience, he transitioned to freelance scriptwriting, which marked the beginning of his journey into impactful cinema.
Suryapal's first released film, "Turtle' (2018)", saw him penning the dialogues for a story that delved into the water crisis in rural Rajasthan. The film won critical acclaim and went on to receive the "National Award for Best Rajasthani Film in 2019". His second feature film, "Waah Zindagi' (2021)", was a romantic comedy set against the backdrop of India's "Make in India" initiative, where he once again showcased his talent as a dialogue writer.
Singh's breakthrough came with "The Kerala Story", his first project as both screenplay and dialogue writer. The film became a nationwide sensation, exploring sensitive and socially relevant issues such as radicalized conversions and terrorism, and sparked significant discourse in the media and on social platforms.
Apart from his work in feature films, Suryapal Singh is also a gifted lyricist. He has written ad jingles for several renowned brands.
