Mariano Calasso, is an International Emmy award-winning writer, IP creator, showrunner, and head writer with executive programming and promotions background. Worked for the most important networks in the USA Hispanic Market and LATAM. Successfully created key scripted and unscripted formats resulting in some of the longest-standing franchises in the US Hispanic Market and LATAM: "El Señor de los cielos", "Nuestra Belleza Latina", "12 Corazones", "Sala de Parejas" today known as "Caso Cerrado" and "Protagonista de Novela" today known as "Protagonista de Nuestra Tele" and "Protagonistas de la Fama". Unique and diversified creative skills in format development: fiction, variety, and special shows.

Mariano Calasso is the co-creator of Telemundo's most successful original franchise series "El Señor de los Cielos". The #1 hit series and Emmy Award Winner that gained record ratings in the American market, regardless of language. He is also the creator and head writer of the series "Guerra de Idolos". Previously, at Televisa networks in Mexico City, he was responsible for the creative development and production of TV Formats on the International Branded Entertainment area. Prior to Televisa, Calasso was Director of Entertainment Content for Telemundo Network. He was responsible for monitoring all on-air content, ensuring an overall consistency throughout all Telemundo programming. Also in Telemundo he was Executive Producer of "Premios Billboard a la Musica Latina" (2007 & 2008). Before Telemundo, Calasso was Director of Creative Development for Univision Networks where he was in charge of all creative programming development for Univision, TeleFutura and Galavision, where he created the reality franchise "Nuestra Belleza Latina". Mariano joined Univision, from Promofilm, where he had been Vice President of Non-Fiction Projects (Caracas, Venezuela / Miami, Florida); responsible for all non-fiction programs development and production. While at Promofilm, he co-created and developed "12 corazones", "Sala de Parejas" (today known as "Caso Cerrado") and created "Protagonistas de Novela" (today known as "Protagonista de Nuestra Tele" and "Protagonistas de la Fama"), the most successful reality show in the region.
