Frank Santopadre

Trivia

Frank Santopadre

Edit
  • Wrote Bazooka Joe comics, Wacky Packages and Garbage Pail Kids stickers and Hollywood Zombies trading cards for the Topps company.
  • Interviewed celebrity guests for NYC's New School, 92nd Street Y and Writers Guild East, including Paul Reiser, Bill Paxton, Lewis Black and Garry Shandling.
  • Wrote the 56th Annual Writers Guild of America East Awards for host Bill Murray, a last-minute replacement for original host Richard Belzer. As a gag, Murray took to the podium and matter-of-factly read (as opposed to performing) jokes originally written for Belzer.
  • Served as editor-in-chief for the much-loved but now-defunct Jest, a National Lampoon-type, NYC-based humor magazine.
  • While in high school, wrote a note to legendary film director Frank Capra and received a personal letter (a prized possession to this day) in return.
  • Was one of Mad magazine's "Usual Gang of Idiots," contributing over 25 humor pieces in the 1990s and 2000s.
  • Wrote comedy material for several New York Friars Club Roasts, including roasts of Jack Black, Matt Lauer, Jerry Lewis and Betty White.
  • First published work: a letter to the editors of Marvel Comics, written at the age of 12 and printed in Avengers issue #111.
