Spoilers for "Invincible" season 3 to follow.
Robert Kirkman first worked with Steven Yeun when the latter played Glenn on "The Walking Dead" (a series based on Kirkman's long-running zombie comic). Then, when Prime Video turned Kirkman's superhero comic book "Invincible" into an animated show, Yeun got the series' leading role.
The cast of "Invincible" has since included a handful of other "Walking Dead" alums. The latest of them came the end of season 3 when Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played the baseball bat-wielding apocalypse warlord Negan, arrived as the Viltrumite warrior Conquest. ("The Boys" isn't the only superhero show out there with Mr. Morgan in its cast.)
Conquest is one of the oldest, most powerful, and most monstrous Viltrumites. In the season 3 finale, "I Thought You'd Never Shut Up," Conquest gives Invincible the fight of his life. But there's one Viltrumite out there who leaves even Conquest trembling in his...

That does mean that Droughtlander has also arrived, and it will be a while before Outlander season 8, the final season, premieres on Starz. And so if you're going to miss the series and Sam Heughan, here's 4 shows and movies of his to watch after the Outlander season 7 finale.
The Couple Next Door
Of course there's the obvious choice of the newest show to come out for us U.S. viewers, and that's The Couple Next Door. It's very convenient that the series is going to be releasing new episodes weekly on Fridays on Starz, which you should already have for Outlander! For the full release schedule, click here.
Even if you've already seen it as the show has come out in the UK on Channel 4, I'd say it's worth another watch. Anything to get us through Droughtlander,...

Warning: Spoilers for Outlander season 7, episode 10 — "Brotherly Love"!Outlander welcomed back old friends and foes in season 7, episode 10, which saw the return of Geillis Duncan (Lotte Verbeek) and Dougal MacKenzie (Graham McTavish). Dougal died in the Battle of Culloden during season 2 and Geillis was burned as a witch in the season 1 finale, but their presence has lingered — sometimes physically — long after their passing. With Roger and Buck having accidentally traveled back to 1739, the show had a unique opportunity to present Geillis and Dougal as they were before Claire met either of them.
The meeting is an especially charged one for the characters, as Buck is their illegitimate child (though he doesn't know it yet) and Roger is their grandson many times removed. But it's also a nostalgic moment for Outlander audiences, who never really saw Geillis and Duncan in the full bloom of their romance and only heard about their...

George R.R. Martin has had enough of the modifications done in House of the Dragon that he penned a now-deleted blog post containing his own criticisms. Now, it seems like another inaccurate detail will make its way into Season 3 that might anger the author even more.

One of Martin’s biggest concerns in the series is the absence of important characters from the very start. Now, a recent interview with a former cast member hinted at his possible return which might only mess up the storyline.

Netflix's monster-hunting fantasy show The Witcher is in the middle of a very interesting transition. The shows third season marked the final time that actor Henry Cavill will play lead character Geralt of Rivia; when The Witcher returns for season 4, it'll be Liam Hemsworth under the white wig. We're at a point in Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher books where the narrative shifts focus away from Geralt and centers Princess Ciri (Freya Allan) for the back half of the saga as some very weird, multiversal meta elements rise to the forefront. It'll be very curious to see how fans react to these changes when The Witcher season 4 drops on Netflix.

Right now we're in the long night between new seasons of HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon. The show's second season wrapped up this past summer with a finale that set the stage for several big events in the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, with a Triarchy fleet setting sail for the Gullet to break Corlys Velaryon's blockade on King's Landing and armies on the move in the Riverlands and the Reach. When House of the Dragon returns for season 3, it'll kick off in spectacular fashion.
It will also include at least one familiar face who sat out season 2: Ser Harrold Westerling, the former Lord Commander of the Kingsguard played by Outlander star Graham McTavish. In George R.R. Spartacus: House of Ashur introduces new characters exploring Roman society through gladiatorial combat and political intrigue. Original series star Nick Tarabay returns as Dominus of a Ludus with a cast of fresh faces including Graham McTavish and Claudia Black. The main cast for Spartacus: House of Ashur has been announced, with eight new faces set to join original series star Nick Tarabay. Following a What If premise that offers a glimpse of what might have happened had Tarabays Ashur not been killed on Mount Vesuvius during Spartacus: Vengeance, this new spinoff will instead see him as the master of his own gladiatorial Ludus. The Witcher's biggest strength is its characters, with Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, and Jaskier standing out among the rest. Other interesting characters include Sigismund Dijkstra, Tissaia de Vries, Cahir, Emperor Ehmyr, and Vesemir. Yennefer, Ciri. Jaskier, and Geralt are the most compelling characters, with their relationships with each other adding depth to the show.
The biggest strength of Netflix's The Witcher is the show's characters, but how do they rank against one another? Since season 1, The Witcher's cast of characters has remained largely the same. Geralt of Rivia has persisted as the titular monster hunter, aided by his trust allies Ciri, Yennefer of Vengerberg, and Jaskier the bard. While The Witcher is often criticized for the show's lack of fidelity to the source material, many would agree that the cast responsible for bringing the characters to life is a shining light of the Netflix adaptation.

Warning: Contains Spoilers for The Witcher season 3, part 1. One subplot in The Witcher season 3 flips a House of the Dragon story on its head - with the same actor involved - and creates a challenge for the Game of Thrones prequel going forward. The Witcher has been compared to Game of Thrones since the beginning, but always talked of as a potential replacement, the “next Game of Thrones.” Now that show actually exists within the same world thanks to House of the Dragon, meaning even more direct comparisons to talk up between the two ongoing, epic fantasy shows.
The two shows have the same broad similarities as The Witcher and Game of Thrones: i.e. fantasy epics with a focus on the politics and power structures that propel things to large scale action across a fictional world. The presence of Graham McTavish in The Witcher's cast, though, provides a more direct link.

As Henry Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia wraps up his final season on Netflix’s “The Witcher”, the cast members sat down with Et Canada to discuss their experiences working with the actor and what they’ll miss most as he bids farewell to the supernatural series after it’s third season finishes rolling out.
Anya Chalotra, who portrays the mighty sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg, says she will “miss his face,” much to the laughter of her two co-stars, Freya Allan and Joey Batey.
“I miss his presence; we’ve worked together for five years,” added Chalotra. “He’s always been Geralt, and we’ve built so much trust.”

The Witcher season 3, part 1 spends more time in the kingdom of Redania, where spymaster Sigismund Dijkstra (Graham McTavish) and court mage Philippa Eilhart (Cassie Clare) plot how to maintain their power in the North when faced with Nilfgaard's incoming onslaught. The popular Netflix series also introduces another member of their entourage in the recent batch of episodes: King Vizimir's seemingly clueless brother, Radovid (played by Hugh Skinner). Fans of the beloved games and Andrzej Sapkowski's stories are very familiar with the character, but the latest iteration is far different than expected.
Redania already has some ties to Geralt's bard friend Jaskier, and The Witcher season 3 highlights Philippa and Dijkstra's plan to use him to bring Geralt's ward Ciri under their control. But they are far from the only party interested in the Lioncub of Cintra, and Radovid's growing attraction to Jaskier makes him harder to manipulate than they anticipated.

Warning: Contains minor Spoilers for Fire & Blood, the book on which House of the Dragon is based.Harrold Westerling actor Graham McTavish is missing from House of the Dragon season 2's cast list, but that only lends more weight to a theory on his role in Rhaenyra Targaryen's (Emma D'Arcy) story. House of the Dragon season 2 is bringing back most of season 1's surviving cast members, with the likes of D'Arcy, Matt Smith, and Olivia Cooke once again leading the way. After a lot of massive time jumps in season 1, House of the Dragon's timeline will be more straightforward for its remaining seasons, which means most actors will be sticking around until they're killed off, rather than being replaced.
All of that makes it notable that McTavish is missing from House of the Dragon season 2's cast. With filming now underway ahead of its anticipated Summer 2024 release, it would...

One key House of the Dragon actor is revealed to be missing from the season 2 cast list. After the massive worldwide success of Game of Thrones, the pressure was on for HBO to keep the ball rolling with a spinoff show that gave viewers the same epic fantasy experience as the original series. The result of the network’s efforts, House of the Dragon, finally arrived in 2022, bringing even more fire-breathing dragons than Game of Thrones, along with a healthy dose of family drama and political intrigue.
The huge success of the new Game of Thrones series means House of the Dragon season 2 is currently set to begin filming, but at least one key season 1 actor has been revealed to be missing from the show’s cast list. As reported by TVLine, when HBO officially announced the start of work on season 2 and ran down returning cast members, Ser Harrold...

“Outlander” is giving fans a little more time before they have to say goodbye — and giving subscribers more of a reason to sign up for a full year instead of just a few months. Season 7 of the time-travel romance will air in two parts, Starz said on Wednesday, with the first half airing this year and the second half waiting for 2024.
Season 7, as previously announced, consists of 16 episodes, the show’s highest order count since Season 1. Like Season 1, which aired in 2014 and 2015, Season 7 will be split into two eight-episode bunches — the “Droughtlander” is officially over on June 16. “Outlander” has already been renewed for a final Season 8, which will consist of 10 episodes and presumably air in 2025 or later.
It is currently unclear if the show, based on Diana Gabaldon’s series of historical-fantasy romance novels, will completely adapt the entire saga. Each season of “Outlander” thus far has adapted (roughly) one...

Put on your kilts and break out the bagpipes in mourning: “Outlander” is coming to an end. The hit Starz TV series has been renewed for an eighth and final season, the premium cable channel announced Thursday. The news comes ahead of Season 7 of the series, which will premiere in Summer 2023.
The news makes it unclear if the show, which is based Diana Gabaldon’s series of historical fantasy romance novels, will adapt the most recent installment, 2021’s “Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone.” Each season of “Outlander” has thus far roughly adapted one book in the series, with the upcoming seventh season set to cover 2009’s “An Echo in the Bone” and Season 8 presumably covering 2014’s “Written in My Own Heart’s Blood.” That said, Season 7 is set to have an extended 16-episode run, while Season 8 will consist of 10 episodes, so its possible that longer length can help cover all three books.

Starz is spending next summer in Scotland. Season 7 of the channel’s smash hit series “Outlander” will premiere Summer 2023, it was announced Friday. In addition to the release period, the channel also unveiled a first look teaser for the upcoming season.
Based on Diana Gabaldon’s nine-book series of the same name, “Outlander” tells the story of Claire Randall (Caitríona Balfe), a nurse living in 1945 who is transported back in time to the 18th century, where she falls in love with Highland warrior Jaime Fraser (Sam Heughan). The show follows Claire and Jamie’s relationship as they navigate the real-life Jacobite rising and other historical events of the era, before more time travel shenanigans cause them to hop freely throughout history.

Graham McTavish addresses whether his character Harrold Westerling could return in House of the Dragon season 2 following his final appearance in season 1, episode 9. McTavish portrayed the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard in the court of Paddy Considine's King Viserys I and bodyguard to his daughter, Rhaenyra (Portrayed by both Millie Alcock and Emma D'Arcy.). House of the Dragon season 1 saw Harrold remain loyal to Rhaenyra throughout her life, upholding his duty with honor and chivalry, before later resigning in protest from the Kingsguard following the Hightower's and Small Council's attempts to usurp the throne from Rhaenyra following Viserys' death.
In an interview with TVLine, McTavish opened up about Harrold's decision to leave the Kingsguard following the Green faction's attempt to claim the throne, emphasizing how despite his sense of duty, his decision to leave his Kingsguard position was made without hesitation due to his loyalty to Rhaenyra and the Targaryens.

As far as House of the Dragon goes, no knight news is good knight news.
So the fact that Ser Harrold Westerling was last seen denouncing Aegon Targaryen’s ascension to the Iron Throne, and then was not referenced at all in the Season 1 finale, just might bode well for Graham McTavish‘s upright character… or maybe he’ll be dragon toast as soon as Season 2 premieres.

With a successful first season in the books, HBO has once again struck gold with its House of the Dragon series. Striking gold is something that the cast is very familiar with, and many of their biggest projects have grossed a veritable bounty at the box office.
From successful comic book franchises like The Amazing Spider-Man to nostalgia-based blockbusters like Ready Player One, the main cast of House of the Dragon has proven that they are legitimate box office draws. Though nearly every cast member has been in hit films, Box Office Mojo reports that some projects soared to new heights of ticket sales.

This post contains spoilers for "House of the Dragon" episode nine.
If I didn't know any better, I might think "House of the Dragon" is suggesting monarchies are bad.
But seriously, folks, the shoe finally dropped in the ninth and penultimate episode of the show's first season. The body of the late King Viserys I (Paddy Considine) is still piping hot when the Green Council meets to discuss the matter of his successor. And by "discuss," I mean confirm most of them have been plotting to usurp Viserys' named heir, Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy), this whole time. But it's okay, they assure a pearl-clutching Queen Alicent (Olivia Cooke), for it turns out this was actually Viserys' dying wish (or so Alicent has convinced herself). They remind me of Calvin telling Susie in the "Calvin and Hobbes" comics it doesn't really matter he threw a snowball at her. "Besides, I missed,...

Graham McTavish is no stranger to trotting around in less-than-ideal riding costumes — in his two seasons on Outlander, he traversed the Scottish Highlands in many a kilt — but Game of Thrones‘ upcoming prequel House of the Dragon requires him to sit a steed in plate armor as he gallops through Westeros.
