Gabriela Medina-Toledo is a First-Generation Mexican-American who was born on April 23rd, 1998 by her Mexican parents Hector Medina, and Gabriela T. Medina, in San Juan Puerto Rico. She then moved to Mason, Ohio for her father's work at the age of 3.
Gabriela entered the entertainment industry at the age of 15, began working in local Theatres, participating in workshops, and eventually signed with a local Modeling and Acting Agency by the age of 16.
During her time at William Mason High School, she took the role of Diana Bell in Theophilus North, and she starred as Juliet in her High Schools Production of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. For her role as Diana Bell, she received my first Cappie Nomination for the best-featured actress. She trained in Acting at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music's summer Immersion program in 2015. After attending the Cincinnati Shakespeare Companies Summer Immersion program, she quickly found admiration for Shakespeare.
Gabriela studied Acting at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music for three years before transferring to Boston University. During her time in CCM, she participated in two 48 Hour Film Festivals scoring a principal role in the films "Dear Liv" and "Egos and Chill". She also got the opportunity to be an extra in the feature film "Killing of a Sacred Deer" directed by Yorgos Lanthimos starring Nichole Kidman and Collin Farrell. She's also had a principal role in the short film "Paramore" Directed by Jesse Circelli, "Me or You", Directed by Cat Kneip, and "Nighwatcher and Bolt" Directed by Francesca Marcotte Reitz. She participated in her first Cincinnati Fringe Festival in the summer of 2017 in the show Vapors at the Gate. In fall 2017 she joined the first Spanish Theater Company of Cincinnati, La Alfombra Teatro; and did her first show with them, "A Dar Voces". She performed in a student production called H2O that was presented at the International Collegiate Theatre festival 2018, in Edinburgh, Scotland.
During her time at Boston University Gabriela explored her interest in writing, producing, and directing all in addition to acting. She had the opportunity to Direct a spring production of William Shakespeares "A Midsummer Nights Dream" in 2021 and she starred in multiple shows including "Pride and Pride and Pride and" as the Playwright, Caryl Churchills "Far Away" as Joan, and participated in the first production of "Lorena: A Tabloid Epic" as Lorena.
Apart from school, Gabriela is known for her comedic Spanish translation videos on TikTok, where she serves as a micro-influencer as a member of the TikTok Creator Fund, and partners with brands such as HBO Max, HelloTalk, and more.
Gabriela plans to graduate from Boston University in May 2022 with a BFA in Theatre Arts: Performance, a Minor in Arts and Leadership, and a Concentration in Film and Television.
