  • Trivia
According to the coroner, Ross took about fifteen sleeping pills, leaving a note for a daily maid that she wasn't to be disturbed. The coroner gave an open verdict. Husband Dickie Henderson had not seen Dixie in two weeks and returned home to hear that she had died on the way to the hospital. He later stated in his unfinished autobiography that the two were on a trial separation at the time and that he was actually returning home to discuss a reconciliation.
