Children's TV can be easy nostalgia bait for adults reminiscing about the joyful days of childhood. Many children's shows appeal to kids and adults, creating lasting enjoyment for each generation, but some shows aren't so positively reflected upon. Whether harboring an overwhelmingly childish aesthetic, annoying characters, or a particularly juvenile sense of humor, some shows are unlikely to be liked by parents watching with their kids.
Many of these shows have problematic connotations, whether due to outdated storylines or behind-the-scenes drama. There are bound to be a few episodes, especially from older shows that may not have aged well, but some shows consistently portray topics and themes with poor execution, leaving an impact on their legacy and their audience.

Ariana Grande has been the talk of Hollywood lately thanks to her standout performance as Glinda the Good in last year's Wicked. This awards season, she's up for multiple trophies, including Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards, where she'll compete against the likes of Zoe Saldaña and Isabella Rossellini, to name a couple. Her stock has risen so much that now the former Nickelodeon star is apparently being offered a slew of roles, including one in the upcoming Spaceballs 2.
According to a new in-depth profile on Grande published by The Hollywood Reporter, the actress and singer is so hot right now following the success of Wicked that she's been approached about numerous follow-up roles. These include, the profile says, "a disaster wedding comedy, a female detective romp set in a Housewives-style reality show, and a Spaceballs sequel." However, Grande, now 31, isn't too eager to just accept anything that comes her way.

The Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious is getting a spinoff series featuring one original star. The news comes after the original show ended its run on Nickelodeon 12 years ago.
Originally, Victorious ran for four seasons between 2010 and 2013. Per Deadline, it now has a second spinoff in development with Daniella Monet set to reprise her role as Trina Vega. The project is in development under the working title Hollywood Arts, which could end up changing. Casting is now said to be underway to find co-stars for Monet, and as of now, no other cast members from Victorious are reported as being involved. It would seem that special appearances are not out of the question, but nothing is confirmed.

A new “Victorious” spinoff is in the works at Nickelodeon, TheWrap has learned.
The network is in the midst of developing a series centered on Trina Vega (Daniella Monet), the older sister of “Victorious” lead Tori (Victoria Justice). Its working title, “Hollywood Arts,” is a reference to the fictitious performing arts high school featured in “Victorious.”
If it receives an official greenlight from Nickelodeon, the comedy will follow Monet’s Trina as she returns to Hollywood Arts High School as a teacher. In addition to leading the series, Monet is also attached as an executive producer alongside writers Samantha Martin and Jake Farrow, the latter of whom previously worked as a writer and producer on both “Victorious” and its first spinoff “Sam & Cat.”
Monet and fellow “Victorious” co-star Avan Jogia posted about “Hollywood Arts” on their respective Instagram Stories on Thursday. Jogia wrote that he “could not be happier” for Monet,...

Exclusive: The Victorious universe is eying further expansion with a second spinoff series, Hollywood Arts (working title). Starring Daniella Monet, who will reprise her role as Trina Vega, the multi-camera comedy is in fast-track development at Nickelodeon, with early casting getting underway, sources tell Deadline.
Produced by Nickelodeon, Hollywood Arts follows Trina returning to her old stomping grounds as the newest teacher at Hollywood’s most elite performing arts school.
Monet serves as an executive producer alongside writers/executive producers Jake Farrow — who was a writer-producer on both Victorious and offshoot Sam & Cat and also voiced Robbie’s puppet Rex Powers on Victorious — and Samantha Martin (Nick’s Henry Danger and The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder).
Victorious creator Dan Schneider, who parted ways with Nickelodeon in 2018, has no involvement in the spinoff. His Nick tenure has been under scrutiny, including in the docuseries Quiet On Set whose producers he is suing for defamation.

A number of early 21st century cable stars put the latest notch on their increas- ingly crowded on their résumés Dec. 9 when the 2025 Golden Globe nominations were announced. Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus and Zendaya all received nods for their work on some of the year’s biggest awards contenders. It was a full-circle moment for the Disney Channel vets (Gomez and Cyrus) and Nickelodeon alum (Grande), all three of whom became pop stars after their small-screen breakouts. And while we may not always think of her this way, Zendaya (Challengers) got her screen start on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up and has written and recorded music as well.
“Surreal,” said Grande, shortly after learning about the honor.
The performer, who rose to fame after starring as Cat Valentine on Nickelodeon’s Victorious, received a best supporting actress nomination for her role as Glinda in Jon M. Chu’s adaptation of Wicked.

Ariana Grande really wants to get to know Selena Gomez more.
So much so that she asked to sit with the “Emilia Pérez” star at the Academy Women’s Luncheon on Tuesday at the Academy Museum.
“I respect her so much, and I’ve always adored her,” the “Wicked” star told me. “I was really happy for her to see us on that list together. It was very special.”
That list is the Golden Globe list of nominees for best performance by a female actor in a supporting role in any motion picture. Grande and Gomez were nominated alongside Felicity Jones (“The Brutalist”), Margaret Qualley (“The Substance”), Isabella Rossellini (“Conclave”) and Zoe Saldaña (“Emilia Pérez”).

With the massive success of Wicked in her bag, Ariana Grande is now being cast as a Disney princess, although by fans. What is even more fascinating is Paul Mescal being cast opposite her. Grande’s musical fantasy movie is currently dominating the theaters worldwide after smashing all predictions for a lukewarm welcome. Mescal’s Gladiator II has also been raking in a good number of audiences at the movies.

As such, after witnessing them at the screens in such challenging roles, many people who were initially wary about their casting are getting eager to witness more such performances from them. The solution for that predicament they have come up with is fan-casting both of them opposite each other in Disney’s upcoming live-action Hercules movie.

Wicked star Ariana Grande made an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Thursday (December 5), and the singer was moved to tears when she was presented with an unexpected showbiz artifact.
It's common knowledge that host Drew Barrymore is the definition of Hollywood royalty, and that her childhood as a very young star in the spotlight was far from easy:
"Not only is she the goddaughter of Sophia Loren and godmother to Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s child, but she was also born into two acting dynasties that date back two centuries: the Barrymores and the Drews.
"Her grandfather, John Barrymore, and his siblings Lionel and Ethel, were leading lights of the stage and screen."

Miranda Cosgrove has assured fans that iCarly won't be ending on a cliffhanger. Despite reviving the Nickelodeon series in 2020, Paramount+ canceled the show after just three seasons - right after hinting at a reveal of Carly's mother.
The original show ran for 6 seasons between 2007 and 2012, and followed the antics of Carly Shay (Cosgrove), Freddie Benson (Nathan Cress) and Sam Puckett (Jennette McCurdy) as they hosted a popular web show. The reboot takes place 10 years after the original series, catering to iCarly's now-grown audience by exploring more mature themes and incorporating less of a slapstick-driven sense of humor. The revival followed Carly as she reunited with Freddie and her brother, Spencer (Jerry Trainor), to relaunch their web show.

It sounds like Ariana Grande is ready to start the next phase of her career. Grande, who is earning rave reviews for her turn in the movie adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked, has been primarily known as a popstar who has sold millions of records and has had a steady flow of hits. Before her music career, she began her professional journey on Broadway, later becoming a popular actress on Nickelodeon, and now she's ready to put music aside for a bit to focus on becoming a movie star.
During a chat on the Las Culturistas podcast, Grande revealed that participating in Wicked has reignited her desire to be an actress. For the last ten years, she has put pretty much all of her focus on her music career, but now she is intent on conquering movies in the same way she has taken over the world of pop music.

Pop sensation Ariana Grande went on the Sentimental Men podcast this week where she talked all things “Wicked.” She even addressed the concerns of some fans about her being cast as Glinda the Good Witch in the big budget adaptation of the popular Broadway musical. For the record, not everybody feels this way, as she has a growing filmography that includes many other notable and respectable projects.
When she was originally cast in the role, she admittedly “felt a little bit of the initial nervousness” and the “preconceived notions about what I might be able to deliver or not deliver, or why I would be wrong,” Grande said on the podcast at the 33-minute mark. “It’s been a great secret. The big-screen adaptation of “Wicked,” starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande as the famed young witches Elphaba and Glinda, is filled with all sorts of easter eggs and nods to the hit Broadway musical as well as “The Wizard of Oz.” But one detail of the film caught the eye of Grande’s fanbase in particular.
The Universal movie, directed by Jon M. Chu, began screening for press, critics and influencers last month, and as audience members shared their rave reviews and first reactions on social media, fans quickly noticed that Grande is billed “Ariana Grande-Butera” in the film’s end credits.

Ariana Grande understands why some “Wicked” fans have reservations about her playing Glinda in the film adaptation of the Tony-winning musical.
During a recent interview with the “Sentimental Men” podcast, Grande was asked what scared her the most after she was offered the part in Universal’s movie musical.
“I felt a little bit of the initial nervousness or the sort of preconceived notions about what I might be able to deliver or not deliver, or why I would be wrong or whatever,” Grande responded. She later noted how fans of the musical might’ve only recognized her from her pop songs when her casting was announced, saying, “Going off of ‘Side to Side,’ I probably would’ve said the same thing. Even though they were heartwarming on the show, according to some outlets, that isn’t the case in real life. A simple online search yields tons of videos and articles claiming there’s bad blood between the two from their Victorious days. Dan Schneider ruled the 90s and early 2000s television; producing and directing one hit show after another. Schneider’s shows like, The Amanda Show, together with sitcoms Kenan & Kel, Drake & Josh, Zoey 101, iCarly, and Victorious gave the industry some of its biggest names.
However, Schneider’s golden era went downhill very quickly when many stars stepped out during the MeToo moment. It is not lost on the masses that many have stayed tight-lipped on the matter. The most prominent name on that list is Ariana Grande’s.

Hence, her silence on the matter has always been strange. Fans have all sorts of theories and guesses for why she might have stayed mum.
