Jamel Scott was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, in the Pink Houses projects. At the age of 11, he navigated to Staten Island, New York to escape the peer pressures of becoming a problem. His parents separated at a young age, and his Mom carried all the weight, with him, along with an older brother, and younger sister. He loves his Mom dearly for her great efforts, as a mom, and as a friend. Him and his father still have a great bond, although he wasn't in the picture for most of his life. As a teen, Jamel (3rd Rail) Scott was a live wire. Depending on his surroundings, determined his fate. So likely, he chose the better path, which consisted of positive ways, and actions. Always being told that he was interesting to listen to, and funny to watch, he decided to take his act on the road, and pursue his career of acting. Not just for friends, and family, but for the masses. Finally, entering the game of acting, and entertainment, Jamel landed his first starring role, in the feature film, Bloody Streetz, along side of Gano Grills, playing the role of Jah. He was definitely on his way. But that wasn't enough. He also had an urge to do music, and so he did. In 2004, putting forth his share of efforts, came the hit single Itty Gritty, by G-Storm & the H-Mode Fam. Not only does 3rd Digala spit on hit singles, some of you may have heard of, "Itty Gritty" and "We Ghetto We Gangsta" of H-Mode. He also produces hot tracks and owns his own production company called Dig'em Tracks Productions, and is currently working with some well known Rap, and RnB artists in the game. 3rd is planning to take this venture to the next level for real. 3rd has his foot dead in the door, of the Acting game. From Tv to Film, he has done it all, acting as a principal role in Freedomland, Starring Samuel L Jackson, & Julianne Moore, in which released at the top of 2006. You may have also seen 3rd coasting, on the west coast that is, and landing a defense and counter suit spot on the Judge Joe Brown Show, battling a former business partner over rights to music equipment, that 3rd did eventually get to keep. B.E.T also had a taste of 3rd's talent by allowing him to take part in a Black History Month P.S.A in which was banned from B.E.T 3 weeks after its debut, but won in a court case and was ordered back into rotation. You can see the commercial on B.E.T now daily. Last but not least 3rd Digala, showed his face for more than just a minute in Wu- The Story Of The Wutang Clan, in which won an award for Best Documentary in the H2O film Festival 2007 in New York City.
