Ryan Coogler’s latest feature, Sinners, starring Michael B Jordan,is hands down the horror film of the year, for its thrilling supernatural plot, performances, and brilliant cinematography. In a new interview, when Coogler and Jordan were asked about a possible prequel set in Chicago, they had a surprising reaction.

Ryan Coogler's critically-acclaimed vampire drama, Sinners, is now in theaters, and if you want to know how the movie ends, you'll find a full breakdown of the last act along with a pair of post-credits scenes below.

Before any supernatural elements are introduced, Sinners focuses on identical twins Smoke and Stack (Michael B. Jordan) as they prepare for the opening of a new juke joint they purchased from the clearly shady Hogwood (David Maldonado). After enlisting their talented musician cousin Sammie (Miles Caton) to perform, the brothers split up, with Smoke reconnecting with his estranged wife Annie (Wunmi Mosaku), and Stack running into former lover Mary (Hailee Steinfeld).

The night starts off well, but Sammie's exceptional singing/guitar playing - a truly incredible, audacious sequence that we're not going to spoil - soon draws the attention of a trio of vampires, and it's not long before all hell breaks loose.

The twins, who’ve made some cash working in Chicago for Al Capone, buy an old sawmill from a condescending white man named Hogwood (David Maldonado), who promises the KKK is no longer around these parts, so they won’t be bothered.

With just four movies under his belt, Ryan Coogler has emerged as one of the recent generation’s most promising and consistent filmmakers. Besides, he successfully transcended from the gritty biographical drama Fruitvale Station to taking over the Rocky franchise with the successful spinoff, Creed. He even made it bigger in the superhero movie territory in Black Panther and its sequel, Wakanda Forever. His latest movie, Sinners is something that it doesn’t cross my mind that he will end up exploring the horror genre. A vampire genre, to be exact but if you watch his past filmography, it’s obvious that Coogler isn’t settling down for a straightforward genre fare.

The Max movie Caddo Lake was a unique experience for actor Dylan O'Brien, who stars in the supernatural thriller as Paris. To say any more of that would risk spoiling the film, which combines family drama with some fantastic plot developments. But making the project was nowhere near as complicated, thanks to co-directors and co-writers Celine Held and Logan George.

O'Brien spoke to Cbr about what attracted him to Caddo Lake after he'd already well explored the supernatural genre as Stiles Stilinski in the MTV series Teen Wolf -- but not the revival movie -- and as the star of the Maze Runner movies. Despite the mixed directorial career he's had over the decades, I've always considered myself a fan of M. Night Shyamalan. Some of my favorite movies have been created by the filmmaker, such as 2002's Signs, while I've also enjoyed a number of his projects the majority of moviegoers haven't. The latest project he's attached to is Caddo Lake, a Max original that serves as his third producer credit for a movie he did not direct. Regardless, his name being attached was an anticipatory moment leading up to watching the movie.

After abruptly pulling the George Nolfi-directed The Banker on the eve of its closing-night berth at AFI Fest last year and indefinitely postponing the December 6 release that was to mark Apple’s debut as a theatrical distributor, Apple has finally come forward and dated the period film for a March 6 theatrical release before it is placed on the Apple TV+ streaming service March 20.

Apple’s PR has steadfastly been ducking calls on this situation, which cropped up after allegations were made of sexual assault by Cynthia Garrett, who said her brother Bernard Garrett Jr molested both she and her sister when they were children.

The film tells the story of two black entrepreneurs, Bernard Garrett Sr (Anthony Mackie) and Joe Morris (Samuel L. Jackson), who after becoming millionaires through Los Angeles real estate dealings banded together to buy banks in Texas, a perilous pursuit in the Jim Crow South.

It's like a second Christmas, right down to the television specials and shopping event, and it's as important to their calendar as any other holiday might be to ours. The show opens with a children's television special discussing The Purge, and it ends with the reveal that the child watching on TV is none other than a younger version of Ben, the frat boy killer who has taken the message of The Purge to heart after a traumatic experience.

“The Banker” director George Nolfi and the movie’s cast, crew, producers, and writers signed an open letter published Monday defending the film based on the life of African American businessman Bernard Garrett. Distributor Apple delayed its release last month after Garrett’s daughter Cynthia Garrett accused her half brother Bernard Garrett Jr., one of the film’s producers, of sexual abuse and helping craft an inaccurate narrative of their father’s life. The filmmakers in their letter wrote the film was based not on the memories of the Garrett children, but from interviews with Garrett himself, and transcripts, court rulings, and media reports. In the statement, Nolfi, cast members Anthony Mackie (who protrays Garrett), Samuel L. Jackson, Nicholas Hoult, Nia Long, and others, expressed sympathy for Cynthia Garrett in light of allegations that Garrett Jr. sexually abused her as a child, but defended the film and “its positive message of empowerment.

The cast and crew of “The Banker” are rising to the defense of the film after Apple delayed its release. The technology giant had originally planned to debut “The Banker” in the height of awards season, giving it a prime release date as it moves more aggressively into the content space. Breaking: On the week that their film was supposed to open in theaters as Apple’s first theatrical release, the makers of The Banker — above and below the line — have issued a statement in solidarity and support for the message contained within a feature film that became embattled when Apple abruptly pulled it from the coveted AFI closing night slot and indefinitely postponed its theatrical release. Apple took those steps after allegations were made in social media posts by Cynthia Garrett — daughter of the film’s main character Bernard Garrett Sr — that her half brother Bernard Garrett Jr (who was listed as co-producer) molested her and her sister decades ago. Garrett Jr has denied those charges and his name immediately disappeared from the producing credits, which he said was his decision. I enjoyed The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey, the Y/A sci-fi novel that this film is based on. I thought it was interesting, entertaining and fun.
