One Punch Man Director on His New Method to Bridge 2D & 3D Animation in Season 3: “The team is giving it our all…”
Image
Any news about One Punch Man Season 3 has been relatively quiet until Shinpei Nagai, the director, explained the new animation method he’s attempting for the series, breaking the silence and offering an explanation. The upcoming season will mix 2D and 3D animation styles, and once he was selected, he implemented a new workflow to maximize production quality.

Nagai’s selection, however, was met with lots of controversy from One Punch Man fans, who expected an established director and a different studio, which led him to respond and apologize on his X account. His response proves how much effort and thought he’s put into bringing Season 3 to life.

I Was Today Years Old to Know Saiki K Has a Live Action Movie: Should You Watch It?
Image
We live in a world that believes live-action adaptations are necessary for every animated series. More and more adaptations are coming up, despite how impossible it is to bring them to life.

I never thought any director would try to take on making The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. into live-action, but I was very wrong. In 2017, Yuichi Fukuda took on the challenge and made a movie out of it, with Kento Yamazaki as the titular protagonist. He’s an actor known for playing manga characters in live-action, but did he do justice to Saiki?

That isn’t all. Saiki K is most prominently known for its vibrant world where people have different hair colors, and the ridiculous and chaotic comedy. Did the live-action movie nail any aspect?

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. live-action movie has a few highs, but too many lows

I might be biased when talking...

5 Funniest Moments in ‘Saiki K’ That Makes It the Greatest Anime No One Has Seen
Image
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. is hailed as one of the most chaotic and funniest anime to come out in recent years. It would be an understatement to call it comedic brilliance because its humor transcends anything we have ever seen. Despite this, it’s not as popular as it should be.

When we say The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. deserves more attention, we mean it. It balances the odd humor with a great story of friendship as the protagonist navigates how to be a normal teenager.

Here are 5 of the funniest moments in the anime adaptation, but mind you, there’s so much more.

To give some context, Kusuo Saiki, the titular protagonist, is an all-powerful human being with various powers. In the anime, he can canonically destroy Earth and erase our existence.

I Know Why ‘Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End’ Is the Best Anime to Rewatch
Image
There are just some anime we can’t help but rewatch. They are often short and sweet series, some with rich lore, while others are just comforting. For me, it’s Bungo Stray Dogs, Haikyuu!!, and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. I often revisit various arcs in One Piece, too, to catch new details. Although I knew the events, I couldn’t stop my tears.

There’s another anime series that gives the same effect without being 1000+ episodes, and it’s Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. One season is longer than the average season, with 28 episodes, but each is worth your undivided attention. Fans will always find Frieren’s journey an emotional rollercoaster, no matter how many times they watch it.

What makes Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End the perfect anime to rewatch, aside from having a short number of episodes? It’s a rare series that makes us tear up from the start,...

Naruto Anime Movie Gets New Official Trailer
Image
Thanks to a partnership between TV Tokyo, Reliance Entertainment and Happening 365 Synergies, the Naruto series is making a strong push into a new entertainment market, with the first major step bringing Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow to Indian theaters for the first time.

Per Variety, the film will be released in three languages -- Japanese, English and Hindi -- across more than 200 screens nationwide on June 27. To celebrate the beginning of what is intended to be a theatrical run that sees all 11 Naruto movies playing in theaters, Reliance Entertainment has uploaded a new trailer for the 21-year-old movie to its YouTube account. In addition to the newly dubbed Hindi trailer, matching trailers for both the English and Japanese versions of the movie have likewise been released. Hiroaki Saiki, head of global distribution for TV Tokyo, said, "We are proud to announce the launch of a...

There’s Only 1 Anime Hero Who Can Beat Goku Decisively and It’s Not Naruto or Saitama
Image
The Dragon Ball franchise is extensive, with several strong characters that rival the powers of Son Goku, but the protagonist always comes out on top. Within and outside his universe, fans believe he might be the strongest Shonen character to ever be created. His power upgrades make this almost a fact if it weren’t for this one anime character.

Shonen fans are always debating who could beat Goku, with the top candidate being One Punch Man’s Saitama. However, they need to expand their pool and consider other genres.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. might be a slice-of-life comedy series, but the titular protagonist’s powers have the potential to beat every other Shonen hero in history. Son Goku might upgrade in strength with each fight, but it won’t be enough to beat this high schooler. Who will prevail between these two?

Goku might have trained his whole life,...

Netflix Did the Lord’s Work With ‘Saiki K.’ but Here’s Why You Should Never Watch Its Dubbed Version Ever
Image
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. is one of the funniest anime series to exist, with dry and witty humor that cannot be replicated and is only rivaled by the likes of Gintama and Grand Blue. Despite how ridiculous Saiki K gets, you also become invested in the characters and the plot.

The credit goes to the voice actors who make Saiki K so brilliantly funny. From the protagonist’s deadpan delivery to Nendo’s stupidity, it’s all owed to their talent, and even the English voice actors do an amazing job. However, the second and third seasons did not receive dubs, and the replacements in Reawakened didn’t hit the mark.

While the original Japanese voice actors reprised their roles, the quality of the English dubbed version noticeably dropped. It didn’t carry the tone and humor of the Japanese version and the previous voice actors. It ruined...

10 Best Anime If You're Craving Another Spy x Family
Image
Spy x Family is one of the most popular shonen anime series in the last few years. Audiences love it because of its clever and exciting adventure storytelling, its lovable characters, and its slow-burn romantic subplot. Shonen anime doesn't always have the most nuanced romances, as Loid and Yor's marriage incorporates many amazing romance tropes popular in shojo anime.

Excellent and diverse tropes and storytelling give Spy x Family added cross-demographic appeal. Bingeing through available episodes and movies, then waiting on tenterhooks for new installments is an experience most anime fans can relate to. Thankfully, there are several anime titles, older and new, which can scratch the itch for Spy x Family fans.

Saiki K is The Funniest Anime You've Never Seen, And Here's 10 Moments That Prove it
Image
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K masterfully blends comedy with deeper messages about friendship and selflessness, even amid its most absurd moments. Kusuo, despite his reluctance to be involved in anyone’s shenanigans, continuously finds himself aiding his classmates’ ridiculous antics, whether he’s dodging social situations or using his powers to fix their problems. This dynamic is a core part of the show’s charm: Kusuo doesn’t want to help, but he does it anyway, often because he cares more than he’d like to admit. The humor arises from his efforts to maintain his aloof persona while still, somehow, being the unsung hero for his eccentric friends.

The comedy in Saiki K doesn’t just highlight the silliness of each situation but also reflects the warmth beneath the chaos. Kusuo’s interactions with his peers showcase how, despite their quirks, he values them deeply, even when they annoy him.

“Daddy drew that!”: The Disastrous Life of Saiki K Mangaka Lied About Drawing Luffy but You Can’t Get Mad at Him
Image
Something big happened when the 2025 Jump news came out. A mangaka claimed that it was him that had drawn the character of ‘Luffy’ the protagonist of One Piece. But there has been no backlash against him, and the internet understands.

Why is this so? The one who made the claim was Shūichi Asō, the creator of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, and he recently delivered one of the funniest parenting moments that instantly won over fans. The Jump Festa 2025 is an event celebrating Japan’s biggest manga and anime titles; Asō shared a photo of the Jump featuring One Piece‘s iconic protagonist, Luffy, in the middle.

The funniest thing was he pointed at the center of the photo and told his son something ridiculous that left the fans and anime otakus reeling with laughter.

Asō just wanted his son to...

The Black Dahlia Murder: "Anime Has Always Been Cool"
Image
In the world of melodic death metal, there are not many bands with a stronger legacy than The Black Dahlia Murder. As one of the titans of the genre, they have a catalog filled with devastating riffs coupled with fantastical lyrics that paint numerous pictures of destruction, fantasy, and power. Where did that creative spark come from? In part, from anime of course! I had the amazing opportunity to sit down with drummer Alan Cassidy and bassist Max Lavelle to talk about all things anime and music. Would you mind introducing yourselves? Alan : I am Alan Cassidy and I play the drums in The Black Dahlia Murder. Max : I am Max Lavelle and I play bass. So when did you both start with anime? Alan : So when I was growing up as a kid in Southern California, I don't know if it just happened to be the TV station or what,...

Band-maid and The Warning Drop New Collaborative Song “Show Them”: Stream
Image
Japan’s Band-maid and Mexico’s The Warning have teamed up for cross-continental collab with their new song “Show Them.”

The upbeat hard rock tune sees Band-maid’s Saiki Atsumi and The Warning’s Daniela Villarreal trading off on vocals and duetting the soaring choruses. Band-maid bring a power-pop sensibility that melds well with The Warning’s harder edge, making for a seamless collab between the like-minded acts.

The collab came about after the two bands shared the bill at the Aftershock Festival back in 2022. Dany and her sisters/bandmates, drummer Paulina and bassist Alejandra, had been eager to meet Band-aid that day, and the groups hit it off.

“Japanese rock and the rock you hear in the US and Mexico are the same genre but they sound completely different,” Daniela said in a joint interview with the bands via Billboard. “That’s the main...
