Pit Bull & Parolees is ending its time on Animal Planet, and the 19th and final season will premiere next Saturday night. The series debuted 13 years ago this month, and 194 episodes and 51 specials have aired thus far. The final season will find Tia Maria Torres and her team at Villalobos Rescue Center facing Hurricane Ida and trying to keep the dogs and crew safe.

Pit Bulls & Parolees is returning for an18th season, but after 17 seasons on Animal Planet, the reality series is moving to Discovery Channel. The show about the largest Pit Bull rescue in the country will also air on Discovery+.

Pit Bulls and Parolees star Tia Torres has thanked fans for raising thousands of dollars to help rescue dogs through the show’s “You Watch. We Give” initiative last week. The annual event sees Animal Planet paying out donations based on how many people view the special episode. Tia, the founder of the Villalobos Rescue Center near New Orleans, which helps hundred of dogs and also aids parolees by taking them in as workers at the center, said it would not be able to run without the fans. A rescue dog receives a shocking diagnosis on this week’s Pit Bulls & Parolees — after being found in swampland with an extremely swollen belly. The dog, which is named Gun, has a stomach so big that it makes her look like she is either pregnant of has a belly full of fluid.
