Gustavo's passion for storytelling was ignited in Caracas, where he first explored the world of mass communications. He later honed his craft at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, earning a Master's degree in Film Directing. Driven by a desire to create cinema that both captivates and challenges audiences, Gustavo wrote and directed "The Mexican Dream", a short film that resonated with international audiences and garnered 13 prestigious film festival awards across the U.S., Mexico, Chile, and Spain.
Humbled by recognition from the industry, Gustavo received the AFI Franklin J. Schaffner Fellowship Award for Best Director of the Year and was named Best Latino Director at the 2003 DGA Student Film Awards. His work also earned a National Finalist spot at the 2003 Student Academy Awards and was acquired by HBO and HBO/Cinemax Latin America for a two-year programming rotation.
With his feature film debut, "Presumption of Death", Gustavo aims to continue pushing the boundaries of innovative storytelling and vision, while remaining true to his core passion for authentic and engaging cinema.
