Melissa Boag heads the Kids and Family Entertainment division of Shout! Factory. She creates marketing strategy and oversees implementation on key lines including the partnerships with Hasbro on My Little Pony and Transformers; with Saban Brands on Power Rangers and Super Sentai; with Toei on Digimon Adventure tri.; with MPCA on When Calls The Heart and with GKIDS on movies from GKIDS and also select Studio Ghibli titles including perennial favorites Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, etc. She also collaborates on acquisitions and production of animated movies and bonus content and plans the marketing strategy on the slate of Shout! Factory and Shout! Kids movie releases including Boxcar Children - Surprise Island, Long Way North, Big Fish & Begonia and Maya the Bee and Maya the Bee 2.

Melissa once thought she would be a rocket scientist, but the calling toward entertainment propelled her forward instead. After graduating from the USC Engineering School, she landed her first job at an entertainment management firm. From there she worked in sales and advertising at Interscope Records, marketing and sales at indie Epitaph, and then marketing and product management at MCA Records giving her a good breadth of experience across many different disciplines. Then, at Artisan Entertainment, she translated her experience in the music business to a position in home video brand management.
