Maren Whitney Ord was born Feb 28, 1981 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada,
the 8th of 10 children born into a religious Mormon family. She attended
school in Edmonton.
Maren taught herself to play the guitar and her mother taught her the piano. She was a member of her family's singing group, Ord Family Singers, until she decided to go solo. Her debut album, "Waiting," was released in 2001. She is signed with Nettwerk & Capitol Records.
