Keith Knotek is a retired American law enforcement official and writer who served as a police commander and sheriff's sergeant in California before retiring in January 2015. He is known for writing the book From Sorrow To Amazing Grace-One Cop's Journey (2020), in which he later co-wrote the screenplay for One Cop's Journey (2021).
Knotek grew up in Huntington Beach, California, where he graduated from Marina High School. He later received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership, and is a graduate of the 2003 session of the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association Regional Command College; the California Police Executive Development Course; and the California Supervisory Leadership Institute.
Keith is open about his struggle with post-traumatic stress and alcohol, and how he overcame them through his Christian faith and a holistic approach to resilience. He works with veteran and first-responder organizations to help those who suffer from post-traumatic stress.
