James Clarke is a British filmmaker best known for writing, directing, and producing Sunray: Fallen Soldier (2024). Born in Cheshire and raised in Knutsford, James originally pursued a career in video game artistry, attending Teesside University in 2010. However, after graduating in 2013, he pivoted toward a new path and joined the Royal Marines Commandos.
During his five years of service with the Royal Marines, James trained extensively across the globe and deployed on humanitarian missions, including Operation Ruman in 2017. Following his military career, James transitioned to a creative role as a full-time photographer and filmmaker for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.
Beyond his work in military media, James is a versatile storyteller, excelling as a writer, director, producer, and editor in both narrative and commercial filmmaking. His passion for crafting compelling visual stories continues to define his dynamic career.
