“Viduthalai Part 2 Is Intolerably Messy & Disjointed” – A Subhash K Jha Review
Image
A great director and a great actor that are Vetrimaaran and Vijay Sethupathi are capable of making a mess together.

The fault really doesn’t lie with the Star. How is Sethupathi to blame if director Vetrimaaran, in all his wisdom, decided to split Viduthalai into two parts due to the inordinate length of the original content?

Director Vetrimaaran is to Tamil cinema what Anurag Kashyap tries to be for Hindi cinema. His hard-hitting, raw, and blunt indictment of a corrupt and insensitive establishment has often labelled Vetrimaaran a rebel with a cause.

With Vidhuthalai Part 2 now streaming on Amazon, I really feel it’s time for a pause. We have seen enough police brutality and social inequality in Vetrimaaran’s cinema. In Vidhuthalai, a lot of it appears redundant, not in the social but in the cinematic context. In how many ways can the director show tribals being showered...

Viduthalai Part 1 (2023) Movie Ending Explained: What Happens to Perumal?
Viduthalai Partie 1 (2023)
Sometimes people join something bigger to make a difference and help others, but along the way, things make them question their choices. That’s exactly what happens to Kumaresan, the protagonist of Vetrimaran’s “Viduthalai Part 1” (2023). Kumaresan signs up for the police force and is assigned to a task force hunting down a local activist. But as the investigation takes flight, he starts having second thoughts. Watching the brutal side of the system that involves police beating and even killing villagers in the name of interrogations shakes his faith in his profession. He finds himself at a tough moral crossroads that forces him to rethink everything.

Viduthalai Part 1 (2023) Plot Summary & Movie Synopsis: What is the Tamil People’s Army, and Why is the Government After Them?

“Viduthalai Part I” explores the clash between the Tamil People’s Army and the State Government of Tamil Nadu. The film starts with...

‘Viduthalai’ Part 2 Ending Explained & Full Story: Are Kumaresan And Perumal Dead?
Image
Viduthalai Part 1, directed by Vetrimaran, is a force to be reckoned with. It is raw, uncomfortable, and real. Even though the story is being told from a constable’s perspective, there is a lot to unearth about police procedure, law and order, vigilantism, hero worship, and general politics. The first movie ended with Perumal, the so-called ‘terrorist,’ being arrested by the police. Caught in a very Pablo Escobar-esque fashion, this man, however, was not killed as he is wanted alive by the police, politicians, and bureaucrats. Viduthalai Part 2 explores the history of Perumal and his current state since being in police custody.

Spoilers Ahead

Where was Perumanl being sent?

Viduthalai Part 2 picked up from the end of the first film. Perumal was still under arrest and was being questioned by Dsp Sunil Menon. Perumal kept talking about his work for the people who have been oppressed for many years.

Suriya to begin work on film with Siva on Sunday
Image
Actor Suriya, who was shooting for director Vetrimaran’s ‘Vaadi Vaasal’, is likely to begin work on director Siruthai Siva’s next film on Sunday. Sources say that the pooja of the film, tentatively being referred to as #Suriya42, is scheduled to be held on August 21.

The film is expected to be a big budget project, with some even going on to call it a pan-Indian film. Suriya, sources hint, might be playing dual roles in this film, which has triggered huge expectations.

Although, no official announcements have been made in this regard, rumours doing the rounds in the industry suggest that Richard Kevin, who did a fine job editing superhits like the critically acclaimed ‘Vikram Vedha’ and the recently released webseries ‘Suzhal’, might be brought onboard this project as its editor.

The rumours also hint at Devi Sri Prasad becoming the music director of this film. More interestingly, there...
