Born in the picturesque province of Saskatchewan, Canada, Duff is an actor, singer, creator, writer and producer who has made his mark across various platforms in the entertainment industry. Coming from a large Scottish family of seven, he initially pursued a career in music, earning a full scholarship to Dickinson State College in North Dakota to study opera. However, after realizing that the opera world wasn't his true calling, he made the bold decision to relocate to Vancouver.
Over his impressive 30+ year career, Duff has showcased his talents on stages and screens across Canada, the United States, and internationally. His journey in film and television began in Vancouver, following two transformative years with the Original Canadian Company of *Les Misérables* (1989) in Toronto. Supplementing his artistic growth, he studied acting independently with notable mentors from the Gastown Actor's Studio, including June Whittaker and Linda Darlow, among others.
You may recognize Duff from a variety of commercials, such as those for Boston Pizza (where he portrayed the Professional Sports Trophy Model), Nutrfol (U.S National), Molson's, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and McDonald's. He also enjoyed a three-year role as "Ronny," the TV and radio spokesperson for Ultramar Gasoline. Additionally, Duff brings extensive experience in animation, radio, ADR, and voice-over work, showcasing his broad range of talents. Currently, he has a recurring role as Mr. Barnaby on the critically claimed PBS Kids animated series Carl the Collector.
As a gifted singer-songwriter, Duff released his debut solo album, "Roots," in February 2011, followed by "Naked," which premiered in 2017. Both albums are available on popular platforms like iTunes and Spotify, reflecting his continued evolution as an artist. Duff's multifaceted career is a testament to his passion and dedication to his craft, captivating audiences wherever he performs.
