Marla trained with the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA) and Screenwise in Sydney, and the AMAW Masterclass in London, as well as over two decades in local theatre in her hometown of Perth. She also studied film and television production in Australia at Edith Cowan University, The Film & Television Institute and Metro Screen, for the times she jumps to the other side of the camera.
