Sherwin Reyes Castillo (also known as "Fatherlily") is a remarkably humble Filipino film composer, songwriter, arranger, and keyboardist. Over more than 46 projects across over two decades, his music has shaped Philippine cinema's emotional landscapes with poignant restraint and heartfelt depth.
He began his career working on films like Bitay! Lethal Injection (1999), Waray (2000), Marital Rape (2001), and Kalabit (2003), contributing not just music but also lyrics and arrangements. In Tarima (2010), he composed the award-winning song "Napapagod Din Ang Puso", earning him the Digital Movie Musical Scorer of the Year at the PMPC Star Awards-an honor he accepted with quiet pride. His emotionally stirring score for Filemon Mamon (2015) earned Best Musical Score at the World Premieres Film Festival Philippines.
In the Metro Manila Film Festival of 2020, Sherwin arranged "Yakapin mo ako" for Suarez: The Healing Priest, reinforcing his reputation for emotional nuance. He continued shaping notable films like Yorme: The Isko Domagoso Story (2021), Katok (2022), Huling Lamay (2022), Loyalista: The Untold Story of Imelda Papin (2023), and Kabayo (2023).
Beyond screen scoring, he crafted songs that have found their way into Filipino hearts. He wrote the intimate "I Never Knew Love", rendered by Lovi Poe, and both composed and wrote "Ba't Di Ko Ba Nasabi," performed by Myrus in the Single Sa Edsa collection-demonstrating his wide-ranging songwriting capabilities.
Through every achievement, Sherwin remains grounded by an artist's humility. He places story over acclaim, melody over ego, and strives always to serve emotion-making him not just a creator of music, but a quiet guardian of cinematic soul.
