Related to scheduling problems, Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers have left The [...]

The Story Of Bonnie And Clyde Casts Sean Faris As The Lead
Cypress Moon Studios. indie production The Story of Bonnie and Clyde now has its Clyde. Actor and model Sean Faris is set to star opposite Lindsay Pulsipher in the Tonya S. Holly directed film. According to Variety, Faris has signed on to play the role of Clyde Barrow in the film, which .aims to explore many aspects of the lives of the Depression-era bank robbers that have never been seen on the big screen before.. Warren Beatty played the role of Clyde in the 1967 film. Faris turns thirty next year (just five days before Beatty celebrates his 75th birthday), which puts the actor at about the same age as Beatty was when he took on the role. Back in September we shared the news that Pulsipher was set to take over the role of Bonnie, which had recently been vacated by Hilary Duff, whose pregnancy interfered with the production schedule.

Some Guy Named Sean Faris Is Your New Clyde In 'Bonnie & Clyde' Remake
While we'll have to leave it to our dreams as to what the original cast of Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers would have done to "The Story Of Bonnie & Clyde," producers are still pushing on with their remake -- that they insist is not a remake -- and have now landed a young, relatively unknown actor to try and fill the shoes of Warren Beatty. Can't say the kid lacks ambition. Sean Faris, who did a brief stint on "The Vampire Diaries" and starred in the short lived shows "Reunion" and "Life As You Know It" will now star opposite the previously cast Lindsay Pulispher, with the duo making up Bonnie and Clyde. Producer/writer/director Tonya S. Holly is plowing ahead with the project, which will not be based on Arthur Penn's classic but instead on news clippings that Holly found in an abandoned house on her family’s property.

Hilary Duff Out, a True Blood for Bonnie and Clyde
Hilary Duff Out, a True Blood for Bonnie and Clyde

You may have caught the buzz surrounding Hilary Duff‘s supposed upcoming television acting gig. The thing is, she has just been replaced. What a meaty role it would have been for her, too. The former Lizzie McGuire star was gearing up to portray Bonnie in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, a History Channel miniseries. Now the female lead for the project is True Blood actress, Lindsay Pulsipher, instead.

The Salt Lake City native is new to Season 3 of HBO’s sultry paranormal drama, True Blood, and her character is Crystal Norris. The blue-eyed starlet enjoyed a long recurring stretch on the A&E series, The Beast.

History is shaping up to be a lucky influence in the actress’s life. Not only will she play in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, but THR reports Pulsipher is working...

Lindsay Pulsipher is "Bonnie Parker"
Cypress Moon Studios reports that actress Lindsay Pulsipher ("True Blood") will play 'Bonnie Parker' in the upcoming feature "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde".

"Lindsay will undoubtedly bring many layers to this critical role," said Cypress Moon producer Tonya S. Holly, who will direct from her own screenplay. "This is a gripping story about two of the most legendary fugitives in history."

Filming is scheduled to start in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Missouri :

"...in a small Texas town in the 1930’s Depression, 'Bonnie Parker' had dreams of becoming an actress or perhaps a poet. She knew more than anything that she wanted out – out of poverty, away from Texas, and she wanted a love story that would never end.

"'Clyde Barrow' grew up poor. He loved guns, cars, and getting noticed. It was his love for the finer things that would cost him his freedom.

Casting Bits: Meg Foster in Rob Zombie’s ‘Lords of Salem;’ Lindsay Pulispher in ‘Bonnie & Clyde;’ Robert Knepper in ‘R.I.P.D.’
Lindsay Pulsipher
Rob Zombie is moving forward on The Lords of Salem, his upcoming horror film [1] that involves witchcraft and terror in Salem, Ma. He's announced the first bit of casting: Meg Foster will play "Margaret Morgan, the leader of a secret coven of witches in Salem." Fans of John Carpenter's They Live will recognize Foster immediately; nice to see Zombie continuing his practice of hiring actors from some of his favorite films. The writer/director also provided the image above. [Facebook [2]] After the break, True Blood's Lindsay Pulsipher gets one of the controversial lead roles in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, and R.I.P.D. gets a new actor. The Story of Bonnie and Clyde became infamous [3] over two years ago when Hilary Duff was set to play Bonnie, the role made famous by Faye Dunaway in Arthur Penn's 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde. Hilary Duff Replaced by ‘True Blood’ Actress in ‘The Story of Bonnie and Clyde’
A new Bonnie and Clyde movie from writer/director Tonya S. Holly has been in the works for a while now. It seemed like smooth sailing for the project, because not only does it have a strong Hollywood legacy to build off of because of 1967’s Bonnie & Clyde starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty, it also had a known star attached with Hilary Duff signed on to play Bonnie Parker. A remake and a famous face? That’s as good as gold in executive eyes. But these days things don’t seem to be so sure. Joining Duff as Clyde Barrow was going to be Gossip Girl and Air Bud: Seventh Inning Fetch actor Kevin Zegers, but due to scheduling conflicts, both Duff and Zegers have had to drop out of the film. Okay, so maybe the loss of Duff hurts a bit more, but you get the point. This movie has gone from a surefire hit...

True Blood Star To Replace Hilary Duff In Bonnie And Clyde
Blonde swap! It seems that instead of Hilary Duff, Lindsay Pulsipher will star in The Story of Bonnie And Clyde, the biopic of famed bank robbers Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Appearing across from as-yet uncast Clyde, Pulsipher is most well-known for playing werepanther Crystal Norris on True Blood, a sentence that just convinced us that we have to start watching True Blood.

Considering that Hilary Duff’s pregnancy might have the actress craving some free time (and, um, she made $100,000 to do nothing), we doubt Hilary is too peeved about the casting decision. “We are thrilled to welcome Lindsay Pulsipher as Bonnie Parker in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde,” the film’s producter Tonya S. Holly told Us Magazine. “Lindsay will undoubtedly bring many layers to this critical role. This is a gripping story about two of the most legendary fugitives in history.” And if the producers want...

Lindsay Pulsipher
Replaced!
Lindsay Pulsipher
Before she was able to perform in the role that would sure take her from teen-queen to actress with a capital A, fate intervened: Hilary Duff announced she was pregnant.

Leaving the minds behind "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" with a few decisions, which they made, however gracelessly.

And after much speculation, The Hollywood Reporter has now confirmed Duff's replacement: Lindsay Pulsipher.

You might recognize the blonde from season three of "True Blood" where she played Crystal Norris or the History Channel miniseries "The Hatfields and McCoys" with Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton, (probably not the latter).

“We are thrilled to welcome Lindsay Pulsipher as Bonnie Parker in 'The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.' Lindsay will undoubtedly bring many layers to this critical role,” says producer Tonya S. Holly of Cypress Moon Productions. “This is a gripping story about two of the most legendary fugitives in history."

‘True Blood’ Star Lindsay Pulsipher Replacing Hilary Duff In Bonnie & Clyde Pic
THR reports that True Blood‘s Lindsay Pulsipher will replace Hilary Duff in the role of legendary outlaw Bonnie Parker in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.

Cypress Moon Studios producer Tonya S. Holly – who will be writing and directing the picture – had these comments:

“We are thrilled to welcome Lindsay Pulsipher as Bonnie Parker in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde. Lindsay will undoubtedly bring many layers to this critical role,” says producer Tonya S. Holly of Cypress Moon Productions in a statement. “This is a gripping story about two of the most legendary fugitives in history.”

And they would like to stress that it has absolutely nothing to do with Duff’s recent announcement that she and hockey player husband Mike Comrie are expecting their first child. Scheduling conflicts have gotten in the way.

This may be yet one more completely unnecessary remake of a pretty much perfect film,...

Pulsipher Replacing Duff In Bonnie & Clyde
Anna Paquin, Ryan Kwanten, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Nelsan Ellis, and Rutina Wesley in True Blood (2008)
True Blood star Lindsay Pulsipher has landed the leading lady role in the upcoming Bonnie & Clyde movie following Hilary Duff's much-publicised departure.

Duff was first picked to play notorious bank robber Bonnie Parker in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, but she was dropped from the reboot in August after announcing she is expecting a child with husband Mike Comrie.

After paying Duff $100,000 (£62,500) as part of a severance deal, movie bosses have announced they are moving forward with Pulsipher as the outlaw.

Producer Tonya S. Holly says in a statement, "We are thrilled to welcome Lindsay Pulsipher as Bonnie Parker in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde. Lindsay will undoubtedly bring many layers to this critical role. This is a gripping story about two of the most legendary fugitives in history."

An actor is yet to be cast for the role of Clyde Barrow after Kevin Zegers bowed out due to scheduling conflicts, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

True Blood’s Lindsay Pulsipher to Replace Hilary Duff in The Story Of Bonnie And Clyde
Despite protests from some cinephiles, a new Bonnie and Clyde movie is on its way.  So far, though, the road has been bumpy.  Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers were initially set to play Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, the two lovebird bank robbers who rose to fame during the Great Depression.  However, scheduling conflicts will prevent Duff and Zegers from assuming the roles. So writer/director Tonya S. Holly must look elsewhere to fill out the cast in time to shoot The Story of Bonnie and Clyde later this year in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Missouri.  Holly and producer Tom Rogers have found their new Bonnie, at least, in Lindsay Pulsipher (True Blood).  Because, as Holly told THR, "Lindsay will undoubtedly bring many layers to this critical role."  Undoubtedly. Pulsipher is currently filming the History Channel miniseries The Hatfields and the McCoys. The actress has two independent features in the...

'True Blood' Star Will Tell 'The Story of Bonnie and Clyde'
Lindsay Pulsipher is ready for a life of crime.

The "True Blood" star is set to die young and leave a good-looking (albeit bullet-ridden) corpse as she joins "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Pulsipher will be playing the better half of the criminal duo, Bonnie Parker, a role to which Hilary Duff was originally attached. Meanwhile, the manhunt is once again on for someone to play Clyde Barrow now that Kevin Zegers ("Gossip Girl") has dropped out due to scheduling issues.

Bonnie and Clyde's story was previously told in director Arthur Penn's now-classic 1967 drama, "Bonnie and Clyde," which starred Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty in the title roles. Theirs are some pretty big shoes to fill (or guns to load, as it were), so much that not too many other (serious, anyway) cinematic takes on the legend of the doomed bank robberies have since been attempted.

Hilary Duff Paid $100,000 To Walk Away From Bonnie And Clyde Remake
Somewhere in the middle of the 2005 rom-com The Perfect Man, which was the last Hilary Duff film I dared to sit through, I distinctly remember thinking, .They should actually pay this poor girl to stop acting.. As it turns out, that.s what has finally happened. Duff reportedly claimed $100,000 after being dumped from the cast of Tonya S. Holly.s The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, TMZ reports. The actress allegedly was let go because of her recent pregnancy, with husband Mike Comrie. But thanks to her pay-or-play contract, Duff still collected six figures for doing absolutely nothing. And they say our country.s financial industries are broken beyond repair. As Katey suggests in her initial report of Duff.s departure, the .scheduling conflict. created by the actress.s pregnancy seems like an excuse to let her go, as the film has wallowed in development for years and the idea...

Hillary Duff's Bonnie And Clyde Movie Uses Her Pregnancy As An Excuse To Drop Her
It's been nearly two years since we heard anything about The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, the new take on the famous bank robbers that was set to star Hillary Duff and Kevin Zegers. In November 2009 director Tonya S. Holly beefed up the supporting cast, but since there wasn't a peep from the production after that-- and casting Duff in a role immortalized by Faye Dunaway started to seem more and more ridiculous--- it seemed safe to assume the whole bad idea had been cancelled. Now the production has popped back up, at TMZ of all places, and it's hard to sort the gossip from the actual industry news. According to this report Duff has been "dumped" from the production thanks to her newly announced pregnancy, with the excuse that shooting is scheduled for the fall and Duff won't be available until June. But given that production has been planned...

This Day in Terrible Idea History: Remaking Not One, but Two Bonnie and Clyde Movies for Generation Lol
Back in 2009, there were reports of an unofficial remake of Bonnie and Clye, which was more akin to a reboot: Same characters, different story. At the time, Hilary Duff was attached to play Bonnie, while Kevin Zegers -- from Air Bud 3 -- was attached to the Warren Beaty role.

I don't know what happened to that project. It's apparently still happening, as it's been fully cast with the likes of Chloris Leachman, Taryn Manning, and Thora Birch, and it's written and directed by Tonya S. Holly. I suspect it's straight-to-dvd material. This is what Duff looks like in the movie:

But now comes Neil Burger, the director behind Limitless and The Illusionist, who is also attached to direct Uncharted: Drake's Fortunre. Now, he's going to direct another version of Bonnie and Clyde, based on the book, Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde. The novel apparently "deromanticizes " the couple,...

Hilary Duff in New ‘Bonnie and Clyde’
Hilary Duff is set to star in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde along with Kevin Zegers.

Tonya S. Holly is directing from her own script, which claims to be a different take rather than a redo of the 1967 classic starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. Duff will play Bonnie Parker and Zegers has agreed to play Clyde Barrow.

Most other blogs have been making a big deal about Hilary Duff in an almost remake somehow tarnishing their memories of a classic film. But what seems to be ignored is her co-star in the new indie film, Kevin Zegers. He is the star of four movies in the Air Bud series, where a dog is capable of shooting free throws, catching passes, kicking a soccer ball, and hitting a baseball.

Now I’m not saying you should completely ignore Hilary “Lizzie McGuire” Duff. But when you’re dealing with an...

Hilary Duff's Role in 'Ghost Whisperer' Unveiled
More details are emerging regarding Hilary Duff's acting gig in "Ghost Whisperer". CBS announce that she will play a character named Morgan Jefferies who is described as "a beautiful woman of mystery" who may be involved in the death of a man who fell victim, literally, to a freak accident. Her episode will air on Friday, April 10 at 8/7c.

Apart from her guest starring roles, Hilary had been the main cast of Disney Channel's "Lizzie Maguire". She is due to appear in her first primetime series role "Barely Legal" on NBC as the youngest person to pass the notoriously difficult California bar exam to be an attorney.

On another news, Duff is also in negotiations to play in another version of 1967 classic "Bonnie and Clyde" alongside Kevin Zegers. Director Tonya S. Holly insists that "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" will not be a remake but rather a...

Duff Takes On Bonnie And Clyde
Hilary Duff
Singer/actress Hilary Duff has landed her most challenging acting job to date - she is to take over the role made famous by Faye Dunaway in a new version of Bonnie And Clyde. Duff will take on the role of Bonnie in a new adaptation of the legendary story and will be starring opposite Air Bud actor Kevin Zegers.

The new movie, titled The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, will be directed by Tonya S. Holly, who has stressed it will be an entirely new movie, rather than a remake of the 1967 classic, which also starred Warren Beatty.

Duff shot to fame in Disney TV series Lizzie Maguire, which was taken to the big screen in 2003. Her most recent movie roles include last year's War, Inc alongside John Cusack.

The star has also landed the lead in upcoming sitcom Barely Legal.

Bonnie & Clyde Remake Starring… Hilary Duff?
I think everyone can agree that there are movies that never need to be remade under any circumstances. Too bad most of Hollywood seems to have missed this memo, because currently looming in this territory is the remake of the 1967 film Bonnie & Clyde.

The classic film is the story of star-crossed lovers Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow who went on a spree of bank robberies during the Great Depression.

In case you’ve got it in your head that there are parts of the Bonnie & Clyde saga that deserve further examination, you are apparently not alone - Hollywood agrees with you.

Sadly, they also agree that actors Hilary Duff & Kevin Zegers would be the perfect updated Bonnie and Clyde, as they’re in talks to star in the project.

The Hollywood Reporter says:

Tonya S. Holly is directing “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” and producing the indie drama with...

Hilary Duff & Kevin Zegers Sign On for 'Bonnie and Clyde'
If you ever wanted to see more of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow's life on the big screen, and thought that the Oscar-winning Bonnie and Clyde wasn't enough, your wishes are about to be granted, although maybe not as you expected.

Variety reports that Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers have signed onto Tonya S. Holly's indie feature, The Story of Bonnie and Clyde. But this won't be a remake. It seems that Holly became intrigued by the story because the infamous gangster duo had been in a abandoned house on her family's property. The film will follow the adventures we've come to know, plus "times in their lives that have never before been seen on the big screen." According to the film's MySpace page (beware, it's busy and hard-to-read), the indie will follow their youth and love, as it morphed from a wanna-be actress or poet and poor gun-lover,...

Bonnie and Clyde is getting a re-telling and the powers that be hope that no comparison is made to the 1967 classic film starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. To get things started, Cypress Moon Studios has picked up Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers to co-star.

'Lizzie Maguire' and 'Airbud' Star are the New Bonnie and Clyde
Tonya S. Holly wrote and will direct The Story of Bonnie and Clyde for Cypress Moon Studios with Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers set to star as the title characters. The film is being described as an indie feature and is said to be a new adaptation of the Bonnie and Clyde story and not a remake of the 1967 classic film that starred Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty and was nominated for 10 Oscars and ended up winning two for Best Supporting Actress (Estelle Parsons) and Best Cinematography (Burnett Guffey). Holly began working on the project after reading old newspaper articles about the gangster pair in an abandoned house on her family's property. The picture is set to film in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Natalie Canerday and Rance Howard will also star. I am not an unabashed lover of Bonnie and Clyde, but I like it and don't really know what to make of this.

Ugh: Hilary Duff Confirmed for 'Bonnie and Clyde'
Here's a staggering bit of news, softened only by the fact that the rumor's about a month old: Hilary Duff will remake Bonnie and Clyde.

Ok, Ok, so the filmmakers want us to pump our brakes on all the remake talk; this is just another telling of the Bonnie and Clyde story that shares nothing of cinematic substance with the 1967 Arthur Penn film, a pivotal moment in American cinema.

But just so we're all on the same page: The Duff is playing the Faye Dunaway role and Kevin Zegers (Transamerica) is the new Warren Beatty.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Tonya S. Holly is "promising to showcase times in the couple's lives not seen onscreen before," like the years when Bonnie dated Joel Madden and got embarrassing veneers, for example. The filming will take place later this year in the Deep South - Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi.

You'd have...

New 'Bonnie and Clyde' has duo circling
Hilary Duff
The story of Bonnie and Clyde is getting a retelling, with Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers in negotiations to play the infamous 1930s bank robbers.

Tonya S. Holly is directing "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" and producing the indie drama with Tom Rogers via her Cypress Moon Studios.

Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were Depression-era lovers and outlaws whose exploits captured the public's imagination. Their story has hit the big screen several times, with 1967's "Bonnie and Clyde," starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway, considered a classic.

The makers are stressing that the new film is not a remake and are promising to showcase times in the couple's lives not seen onscreen before. Holly first became interested in the story of the fugitive lovers after finding old newspaper articles about their exploits in an abandoned house on her family's property.

Holly most recently wrote, produced and directed the family...

Someone Please Tell These People You Can't Do Bonnie And Clyde -- Because a 'non-remake' starring Hilary Duff makes you look stupid
You cannot make a movie about "Bonnie and Clyde" after 1967. Yes, it was loosely based on the lives of Depression-era criminals Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, but Alan Parker's classic film starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway is the legacy of those two criminals. Any other telling of their story is a disservice. That's not to romanticize them or put them up on a pedestal, but their story has been told better than anyone else can possibly tell it. Some folks may like to call "The Dark Knight" a cinematic revolution, but "Bonnie and Clyde" was a real cinematic revolution. You know how I know: it's on the cover of a book called Pictures At A Revolution*. But that's not going to stop Tonya S. Holly from directing "The Story of Bonnie and Clyde" starring Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers. I don't know about Zegers but I do know...

Hilary Duff in New Bonnie and Clyde Film
The latest issue of Production Weekly is reporting that Hilary Duff will star in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, a new film about the notorious gangster couple from director Tonya S. Holly. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow were notorious outlaws, robbers, and criminals who traveled the Central United States during the Great Depression. Their exploits were known nationwide. They captured the attention of the American press and its readership during what is sometimes referred to as the "public enemy era" between 1931 and 1935. Though the gang was notorious for their bank robberies, Barrow preferred to rob small stores or gas stations. The gang was believed to have killed at least nine police officers, among several other murders. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway famously portrayed the two in the 1967 film directed by Arthur Penn. It won two Oscars, Best Supporting Actress for Estelle Parsons and Best Cinematography. Duff even recreated a...

Hilary Duff Remaking 'Bonnie and Clyde'?
Production Weekly has missed the mark in glorious fashion before - saying Paul Greengrass would replace Spielberg to direct The Trial of the Chicago Seven and putting the third Batman movie in front of cameras this spring - so we won't hold our breath that this is confirmed. However, the trade publication is reporting that Hilary Duff will take on the Faye Dunaway role in a remake of Bonnie and Clyde.

Curiously enough, The Duff posed for a photo shoot recreating the classic 1960s film, which along with The Graduate and a couple other films around that time, kind of ushered in a new era of American filmmaking.

Cinema Blend says that Pw mentions Tonya S. Holly in the director's chair for the remake, which would also star Kevin Zegers, Natalie Canerday, and Rance Howard. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this movie gets remade this year or ten years from now.

Hilary Duff Takes On Bonnie And Clyde Remake
About a year ago, Hilary Duff posed for Allure magazine dressed like Faye Dunaway in Bonnie and Clyde. Who knew that would be a hint? Apparently Duff is now preparing to work on The Story of Bonnie and Clyde, another movie about the famed gangsters that will presumably feature Duff in the female title role. This week's Production Weekly says that production will begin in April in the Deep South, with Tonya S. Holly (When I Find the Ocean) directing Duff, Kevin Zegers, Natalie Canerday and Rance Howard. The plot description offers up nothing but the details of Bonnie and Clyde's lives, but how much do you want to bet this won't be trying to approximate the groundbreaking filmmaking that the original Bonnie and Clyde represented back in 1967? I'm not willing to call this a remake, and I think it's probably just another movie based on the same real-life story.
