Carol Decker
Carol formed the pop/rock band, T'Pau, in 1986 with guitarist/co-songwriter Ron Rogers. Their debut album "Bridge of Spies", released in 1987, spawned six hit singles (including the #1 smash "China In Your Hand") and sold over 1.2 million copies in the UK alone, going quadruple platinum. Two more albums - "Rage" and "The Promise" followed before the band split up in 1991. Carol dropped out of the music scene for a few years, only occasionally guesting on other artist's albums. During this period (around 1993), she met her husband to be, Richard Coates. Then in 1997, she decided to resurrect T'Pau with a new lineup. They toured in the summer of that year and encouraged by the response, started recording a new album. In June 1998, Carol gave birth to her first child. Ever the trooper, she managed to reappear just three weeks later to perform at the Princess Diana Tribute Concert. Then in September '98, she released the band's latest album, "Red" on her own Gnatfish record label. Carol has kept a steady touring schedule with the band since then. Carol tragically suffered a miscarriage in 2001. She eventually fell pregnant again, but there were complications towards the end of her third trimester. In August 2002, after an emergency caesarian, her second child was born. Carol needed four blood transfusions, but thankfully came through it. Most recently, Carol has performed on the "Here & Now" 80s revival tour. T'Pau's first official live album went on sale on 20th December 2003.
