Zouk was ground zero for Los Angeles nightlife last weekend.

The new nightclub, located at 643 N. La Cienega Blvd. in the space formerly occupied by Nightingale, toasted its long awaited arrival with a three-night opening weekend celebration that kicked off Thursday with notable names like Marc Anthony and Zouk insiders. Zouk Los Angeles is a joint venture between Sam Nazarian’s sbe and Hui Lim’s Singaporean nightlife entity Zouk Group. Both were in the building on Thursday for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and preview party that featured light bites and live performances like a traditional drum ritual.

The action continued Friday with a headlining performance by DJ Politik and guests like influencer and entrepreneur David Dobrik. Jason Oppenheim and Mary Bonnet, stars of Selling Sunset as well as top agents at The Oppenheim Group, will once again host The Hollywood Reporter‘s annual L.A. Power Broker Awards.

The event — presented by luxury real estate PR firm The Society Group — will take place on Sept. 17 at Hotel Bel-Air and toast the powerhouse sellers on THR‘s Top 35 List, followed by an awards presentation. The honors are sponsored by Fleetwood Windows & Doors and interior design and home styling company Vesta Home.

Oppenheim and Bonnet previously hosted the event, now in its fourth year, in 2022; Mauricio Umansky emceed in 2023. Nominees for six categories are presented below, with the pair announcing the winners at the dinner. Aaron Kirman of Akg Christie’s International Real Estate is also the winner of THR‘s L.A. Mauricio Umansky, the co-founder of real-estate brokerage The Agency — who also stars on Netflix’s Buying Beverly Hills and is a contestant on the new season of Dancing with the Stars premiering on Tuesday — is set to follow up his dancing debut by hosting The Hollywood Reporter‘s annual L.A. It’s a wrap for Buying Beverly Hills Season 2 filming. The Netflix occu-series has concluded filming for the second season of the show that follows agents and clients within Mauricio Umansky’s real estate company The Agency in Beverly Hills.

Umansky’s daughter Alexia Umansky shared a post on Instagram Stories confirming the cast had finished the principal filming of the series.

Buying Beverly Hills Season 1 premiered on November 4, 2022, with Netflix dropping all eight episodes all at once. Umansky leads the show working alongside his daughters Farrah and Alexia, who is dipping her toes in the family business proving she’s got the abilities to be the next realtor star.

Buying Beverly Hills is returning for a second season. Netflix has renewed the real estate reality series, which launched on the streaming service in November, per Deadline.

Held last year for the first time in New York and celebrating its second year in September in L.A., THR‘s signature real estate event, the Power Broker Awards, is making its Florida debut. The inaugural Miami | Palm Beach Power Broker Awards — presented by high-end property PR firm The Society Group and sponsored by staging and interior design company Vesta and real estate social app Real Messenger — take place Jan. 17 at Faena Theater.

The evening includes a dinner for the agents on THR‘s Top 25 Miami and Palm Beach list, followed by an awards presentation. Emceeing the event will be Fredrik Eklund, co-founder of Douglas Elliman’s Eklund | Gomes Group and former star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing.

A quartet of top-selling L.A. luxury real estate agents, all known for reality TV appearances, are joining forces. Former Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles stars James Harris and David Parnes of The Agency are linking up with Jon Grauman and Adam Rosenfeld (both seen on the new Netflix show Buying Beverly Hills) to form the new team Bond Collective.

At first, real estate agent Farrah Brittany was unsure if she wanted to do the new Netflix series Buying Beverly Hills, which charts the inner workings of The Agency, founded by her stepfather Mauricio Umansky.

“I definitely had qualms. Because, obviously, we’re making a show about our profession,” she said at the November premiere party for the new Netflix series, held at Wheelhouse LA. “Everything you do, you’re looking through the lens of, ‘How is this going to be received by our clients, by viewers?’ We want to look professional. So, I was definitely nervous.”

However, Brittany was heartened by the fact that Buying Beverly Hills — the latest in a slew of real-estate-focused reality shows including Oppenheim Group’s Selling Sunset, Million Dollar Listing, and the new Selling the Oc — actually features the intricacies of luxury real estate deals and transactions.

Netflix's reality-tv real-estate repertoire is growing. On June 23, the streaming giant announced its slate of both new and returning shows - including official season six and seven renewals for Emmy-nominated series "Selling Sunset" - that are set to deliver even more exciting home-renovation and real-estate programming for our viewing pleasure!

In 2015, Vice Media mogul Shane Smith and his wife Tamyka paid $23 million to purchase Santa Monica’s Villa Ruchello estate from filmmaker Henry Jaglom and his ex-wife, actress-director Victoria Foyt. Now, the Smiths have officially sold the stunning 3.35-acre spread — featured in the film Beverly Hills Cop and comedy series Entourage — for $48.67 million.
