THR reports that Kevin Smith is bringing the View Askewniverse to Archie Comics. The Clerks writer/director is writing a double-sized crossover comic titled Kevin Smith Presents: Archie Meets Jay & Silent Bob.
The comic will be set after the events of Clerks III, which ended with a significant death, but Smith says, “Archie plays a role in the healing” when the iconic character gets a summer job at the Quick Shop and befriends Randal Graves. “Not only is this my stab at a classic American franchise that existed long before me that I read as a kid … It’s a midlife crisis project about death and learning to deal,” Smith explained.
Smith has long been a fan of Archie comics, and he wrote the first draft for the comic just one day after Archie creative executive Jesse Goldwater pitched him the idea. “Kevin has always been one of my creative heroes,...

Riverdale is colliding with the View Askewniverse.
Filmmaker Kevin Smith is writing a double-sized crossover comic in which the wholesome Archie Comics characters meet the edgy protagonists of his film oeuvre. This mature title takes place in the continuity of Smith’s filmography, with the book set after the events of 2022’s Clerks III, which (spoiler alert), included the death of Dante (Brian O’Halloran).
“Archie plays a role in the healing,” Smith tells The Hollywood Reporter of the story, which features Archie landing a summer job at the Clerks Quick Shop and striking up a friendship with co-worker Randal Graves.

As fans of the Marvel Rivals video game are enjoying the release of Sue Storm as a playable character, there has been a massive surge in interest in the character’s dark persona - Malice. After an encounter with a villain left the Invisible Woman’s mind in pieces, a twisted alternate identity emerged, throwing away any self-restraint the hero had prior. No longer held back by morality, Malice was free to dominate.
While she is often overlooked as a superheroic powerhouse compared to her male compatriots, the Invisible Woman is arguably the most powerful of the team. Reed Richards surmises that her powers stem from vibrational energy that emanates from the higher plane of existence the Celestials reside in.
In fear of her own limits, Sue has always held herself back, unwilling to discover how powerful she really is. However, introduced in Fantastic Four #280 (1985) - by John Byrne and...

The Infinity Stones are by far some of the most powerful items in the Marvel Universe. They have the ability to rewrite reality and grant the user near unlimited power. As such, there have been plenty of attempts to hide these stones due to how dangerous they are, but they're always found again. The stones have been scattered across the universe and held by Earth's mightiest heroes, but no matter where they are, someone always finds them.
The Infinity Stones were originally part of the first being in existence, who is known as Nemesis. After her death, the stones were scattered across the universe and eventually found by the elders of the universe. The majority of the elders were unaware of the Infinity Stones' true purpose or power, and it was Thanos who first tried to gather them in Avengers Annual #7 by Jim Starlin and Josef Rubinstein.

Of all the powerful items in the Marvel Universe, the most dangerous has always been the Infinity Stones. These items are often gathered and used by Thanos in one of his many attempts to end all life in the universe. While the stones are well known in the Marvel Universe, their actual history isn't as well known among comic readers.
The stones have been around for a long time and have gone through a lot of changes. Originally called the Infinity Gems or the Soul Gems, they were eventually changed into the Infinity Stones, and the way they worked was changed as well. Marvel also expanded their lore, adding more stones than the original six. This has led to their history being just a bit confusing, but these are the biggest events that defined the history and legacy of the Infinity Stones.

In the story Superman: True Brit co-authored by John Cleese Superman's decision to reveal his identity removed his enemy's power over him, a tactic Peter Parker could've used to negate J. Jonah Jameson's years of printing libel against Spider-Man By unveiling his secret, Superman won public support, showing how for Spider-Man, transparency could have changed his relationship with Jonah. Despite Jonah's anti-Spidey stance throughout much of his character history, he has proven supportive when aware of Spider-Man's identity in continuity, suggesting a missed opportunity for Spider-Man to convert an enemy into an ally by trusting Jonah and disclosing the man under the mask.
As many sinister villains as Spider-Man has faced over the years, one of his most consistent headaches has come in the form of the spurious reporting done by J. Jonah Jameson a problem that, surprisingly, one niche Superman story showed the perfect way to handle. Jonah...

Invincible artist Ryan Ottley draws Thanos with a puckered face, having accidentally warped his body with the Infinity Gauntlet. Ottley labels the result 'Thanus,' with fans comparing the drawing to Preacher character Arseface. The art calls to mind Thanos' wildest uses of the Gauntlet - including turning Wolverine's bones to rubber - but far more grotesque.
A tyrant, murderer and zealot, the Mad Titan Thanos is one of Marvel's most despicable villains, but even he may not deserve how he's being treated by Invincible artist Ryan Ottley. Joining writer Robert Kirkman on Invincible #8, Ottley drew over 100 issues of the iconic series, and has worked on other properties including Hulk and Amazing Spider-Man. However, fans may wish he'd stopped there when they see his recent roast of Thanos.

Well, look at that, we’re up to my lucky number thirteenth Archie’s House of Horrors. And I can’t imagine a better title to celebrate that milestone than Archie Comics: Judgment Day. After all, who doesn’t love talking about the end of the world?
It’s no mystery why apocalyptic settings are, ironically, a fertile playground for horror stories. The stories basically write themselves, as whether we consciously admit it or not, we’re always consumed by the fear of the end of the world. We’re constantly reminded of the doomsday clock and its hands shifting ever closer to midnight. Every day the world throws a new curveball at us and gives us stark reminders that life on planet Earth is not infinite.
That’s why, perhaps, there’s some fun in creating fiction about the end of the world. It gives us the control to...

Superman accidentally creates "Bat-Man" after a cricket game mishap. Batman seeks revenge on Superman by exposing his true identity. John Cleese's humorous take on Batman vs. Superman is a refreshing twist.
From a dark God who watches over Gotham to a vigilante in Victorian England, there have been countless interpretations of Batman over the years. But his most hilarious re-invention came when famous comedian John Cleese changed Batman's origin to make him a victim of Superman's super-strength after a disastrous cricket game.
Superman: True Brit by Kim Johnson and John Cleese set out to answer the timeless question of "What if Superman were British?" This experiment naturally had hilarious results, as Superman was encouraged to never use his powers (for fear of what the neighbors would think). This led Superman to repress any memory of his powers, including his super strength.

Wonder Woman's lack of weaknesses and immense strength make her formidable — except she keeps getting possessed by dark forces. Diana's multiple possessions have posed serious threats to the Justice League. It's crucial for Wonder Woman to develop mental defenses to prevent future possession threats.
There's no denying that Wonder Woman is one of the most powerful heroes in the Justice League. This is partly because she has functionally no weaknesses and is nearly as strong as Superman. So it's all the more concerning that she keeps getting possessed. Several times a powerful villain has taken over Diana's body and used it for evil.
One of the major times Diana got possessed was during Jla: Scary Monsters #5 by Chris Claremont, Joshua Hood, Sean Parsons, Jack Morelli, and Guy Major. After the Justice League came under attack by demonic forces while on vacation, Wonder Woman was infected. This resulted in her...

Superman's invulnerability can be bypassed by certain attacks. When injured, doctors can't help Superman due to his invulnerable skin. Being invulnerable makes it hard for Superman to heal with help from others, leading to a lot of pain.
One of the hardest superpowers to deal with is invulnerability. Superman really can't be harmed through any conventional means, with only magic or kryptonite being able to damage him. This sounds great, but the major downside to invulnerability is that when Superman does get hurt, there's nothing that can help him.

One of the hardest superpowers to deal with is invulnerability. Superman really can't be harmed through any conventional means, with only magic or kryptonite being able to damage him. The Flash can unleash thousands of light-speed projectiles, making him one of the most dangerous heroes alive. Flash's offensive capabilities are often hidden, but he can use his speed to turn into a human gun. Wally West's specialized powers make him incredibly destructive, but he rarely uses this ability to its full potential, sparing his enemies.
It’s long since been proven that the Flash is one of DC’s most versatile characters. With a unique connection to the Speed Force and a lifetime of superheroic experience, there’s very little that Wally West can’t do as the Fastest Man Alive. With his incredible powers, the Scarlet Speedster has little need for weapons, but it’s those same powers that make the Flash more dangerous than any man-made gun.
Jla: Scary Monsters #4 by Chris Claremont and Joshua Hood pits the Justice League against a host of horrific eldritch beasts.

Cyclops' strategic genius outshines Captain America's in Infinity Gauntlet #4, showcasing his ability to outmaneuver even cosmic villains like Thanos. Scott Summers has an unparalleled tactical mind; while Captain America may have fought in wars before, Scott has been a soldier nearly his entire life. Scott Summers' commitment to keeping his people alive drives his exceptional strategic thinking, making him Marvel's ultimate tactician.
Marvel's Cyclops has many critical skills that make him an incredibly effective team leader, but as one iconic crossover showed, his tactical genius surpasses that of even Captain America. During a battle with Thanos, it was Scott Summers' strategic thinking, rather than brute force, that proved nearly enough to take down the cosmic villain.

Let’s talk about sci-fi, baby.
Sci-fi as a genre is one that’s often eluded me. I feel like more of an interloper than a tried-and-true fan. Science was never my forte growing up, and from my earliest forays into reading sci-fi, I couldn’t get past that aspect. Even if the science is fictitious, having to learn the “rules” was enough to dissuade me from engaging further. I loved reading, but I hated doing homework—which, to me, was akin to homework—the antithesis of reading for pleasure.
But the older I get, the more I understand the appeal.

Moon Knight's long-forgotten team the Night Shift need to make a return to Marvel Comics - and perhaps the MCU too! While perhaps one of Marvel's least-known groups, the Night Shift are a unique group of heroes, and their foremost members - Moon Knight and the Werewolf by Night - have recently increased their profile in both the comics and movies. At the same time, the Night Shift can give Marvel its own version of a successful DC property.
Solo Avengers #3's 'Tower of Shadows' was released in 1987 from Roger Stern, Bob Hall, Stan Drake, Paul Becton, and Jack Morelli. In the story, Moon Knight is tracking Cornelius Van Lunt, who has been making life miserable for the Avengers. Working on a tip from Jack Russell's Werewolf by Night, Moon Knight visits an abandoned fortress. Upon entering, he is attacked by the Shroud, an antihero who uses darkness as a weapon.

Sharon Carter has gone from an interesting supporting character in the Captain America movies to the subject of considerable controversy among Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. The events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier revealed her as the franchise's version of The Power Broker: a surprise twist that created a number of thorny logistical and character issues in its wake. Fans continue to debate the implications -- and to be sure, Carter clearly has a big role yet to play in the franchise -- but the reveal is still considered a misstep.
Redeeming it depends very much on what happens next, and if the MCU is preparing a rabbit to pull out of its hat with Carter, then all will be forgiven. The ways it could conceivably do so are limitless, but recent casting rumors have raised an intriguing possibility. The Power Broker could be a way to introduce...

Christmas is a terrifying time.
And no, I don’t mean it in the commercialist and capitalistic sense, but the roots of Christmas are actually pretty gosh darn spooky. The Christmas we know of today (both sacred and secular) stemmed from a winter solstice celebration filled with revelry and debauchery. It was a time of transition, warding away evil spirits and witches, telling spooky stories by candlelight, and by going door-to-door, not to sing jovial carols, but to play tricks and wear costumes.
Sound familiar?...

Created by Harry Shorten and Irv Novick, Bob Phantom was in reality gossip columnist Walt Whitney. In addition to writing a column spoofing law enforcement, Walt was also the caped vigilante Bob Phantom. Bob became the cornerstone of Archie Comics' (then known as Mlj Publications) superhero universe,...

It's not often that Thanos admits to his biggest mistakes, but when the supervillain created a clone of himself that took on the form of Galactus, the Mad Titan revealed that doing so wasn't his best idea. In Infinity Abyss #6 from Marvel Comics, Thanos worked alongside the greatest heroes on Earth to stop his Omega clone, who ended up taking on a combined form of the villain and Galactus, as its incredible powers nearly destroyed the Marvel Universe.
One of the more bizarre stories starring the Mad Titan occurred during the Infinity Abyss miniseries, which featured clones called the Thanosi that Thanos had created to test his strength and powers against different heroes, ultimately leading to the villain being forced to battle his own creations. The clones combined the powers of Thanos with the abilities of heroes, including Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Gladiator, and Professor X. However, the clone that...

There have been some creative takes on Archie and his gang before, but their next adventure may be the most outrageous yet. Archie Comics has provided an exclusive look at Archie vs. The World, a new one-shot that puts everyone's favorite teen characters in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Archie Comics is one of the oldest comic brands in the game, and for the better part of a century, the titular character and other residents of Riverdale have delighted readers of all ages. While there's been a never-ending supply of material featuring the standard versions of the All-American teenagers, Archie Comics has made some bold choices with its alternative, non-canonical stories. Whether it's the grim, terrifying worlds found in the Archie Horror line of comics or crossovers with bizarre entities such as the Predator or sharknados, the modern Archie Comics isn't afraid to break the mold and try something completely new.
