Miramax set to visit 'Homeland'
Miramax Films is developing a satirical comedy Homeland Insecurity with screenwriter Robert Siegel, the former editor in chief of the Onion. Homeland will track the misadventures of two Arab-Americans who are mistaken for terrorists while on a business trip to Texas. It will be produced by David Miner and 3 Arts Entertainment, with Siegel contributing the screenplay. Siegel has co-written the script for The Untitled Onion Movie for Regency Enterprises and release by Fox Searchlight. Director of production David Greenbaum brought the project to Miramax Films and will oversee its development and production with president of production Keri Putnam and Kristin Jones, senior vp production international development and acquisitions. Michael Luisi, executive vp business affairs, and vp business affairs Rosalind Lawton negotiated on the studio's behalf. CAA and Roger Arar of Loeb & Loeb represented Siegel and John Meigs of Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Warren, & Richman negotiated on behalf of Miner and 3 Arts.
