Manny Hernandez is an actor and stunt performer with roots in a small fishing village in southern Mexico, Campeche, where everyone knows your name-and probably your grandmothers Cochinita recipe.
Known for their joy, humor, and warmth, the people of his hometown shaped Mannys naturally charismatic spirit.
Technically speaking, Manny grew up in Mexican Film Royalty-his grandfather sold tickets and ran the projector at the towns most elegant movie theater in town. He would sneak young Manny in for private screenings before the doors opened to the public. That grand old cinema became Mannys sanctuary, and storytelling lit a spark in him that never went out.
He left home to become a veterinarian (yes, really), which opened his eyes to the world beyond his village. But fate had other plans. One day, while helping a neighbor on a TV set as a last-minute crafty assistant, Manny handed a director a coffee... and walked away with an extra performer gig. The next day, he was standing next to one of his childhood movie idols-and that same night, he signed up for acting classes. Since then, Mannys career has taken flight-sometimes literally. You can soon catch him singing on the series Smoke (Apple TV+), flying through the air on Reginald the Vampire (SyFy), playing a rugged bandit in The Abandons (Netflix), or being the perfect holiday husband in Coyote Creek Christmas (Hallmark).
When he is not on set, Manny is a creative home chef for his wife and kids, a questionably skilled chauffeur, and a long-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner who still thinks arm bars are less painful than bad readers for his auditions. His dream is to keep telling stories about Mexican heritage, family, identity, and all the complicated emotions men usually avoid talking about.
