Close to Midnight (2008)
Cooper began acting in Chicago with Jeff Award nominated Actor's Workshop Theatre. He starred in the company's staging of Arthur Miller's "Broken Glass," in a performance heralded by legendary critic Richard Christensen of the Chicago Tribune and called one of the best performances of 2001 by The Windy City Times.

He has performed in dozens of plays in Chicago and New York including off-off Broadway in New World Theatre's "Book of Days" and "The Crackwalker," as well as Spiral Inc.'s "The Deluxe Illustrated Body."

In Cooper's feature film debut he portrayed a nasty cop in Michael Sorenson's Converging With Angels, one of the top films of 2003's Montreal Film Festival. He continued with work on HBO's "Mind of the Married Man," and co-starring roles in 2002's Jigsaw and 2008's Dozers, as well as 2007's acclaimed drama Close to Midnight, named "Best of the Fest" at the 2008 ReelHeART Film Festival.

Born in Hawaii to a U.S. Marine father and a mother who worked in the medical field, Cooper lived in Toledo, Ohio until 1978 before relocating to the warmer climes of Phoenix. He then planted roots in Chicago and New York City.
