Michelangelo Sosnowitz (Mike) grew up in Westport, CT and began taking piano lessons at the age of six. As a High School teenager he won the Connecticut Songwriting Competition. At NYU he studied theory, composition and film scoring, and began scoring plays and dance projects by performing live along side of the performers. From there he began scoring films and Off-Broadway shows, winning two Best Score Awards at the First Run Film Festival and Best Score Award at the Midtown International Theater Festival.
Michelangelo wrote many national commercials you may have unknowingly heard, including Mercedes Benz, Philips Norelco, Animal Planet, Garnier Fructis, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, SK Energy Drink, CNBC, Acuvue and many more, including several commercials for NYU Langone Hospital and Winthrop University Hospital (that ran constantly on local channels).
Michelangelo created music themes (or Sonic Logos) and loads of background music for Deadline Hollywood, ENTV, PMC Studios, BlackTree Media, Hollywood Life and BGR. He wrote music for Concacaf (the North American, Central American and Caribbean division of FIFA World Cup Soccer) creating their Champions League theme and Gold Cup theme as well as many stingers and promos.
As a songwriter, Sosnowitz has written and produced albums for himself and select artists across different genres of music. He has placed songs high on the CMJ charts as well as Satellite, FM and all major streaming platforms.
