Bill Skarsgrds unnamed deaf-mute protagonist in Boy Kills World expresses himself through videogame voiceover narration. Boy Kills World is a satirical tale of revenge set in a dystopian world in which people are slaughtered on live television in a show called The Culling. Skarsgrd plays Boy, a young man who was left deaf-mute after an attack in which his entire family was killed. In the years that followed, Boy became a martial arts master in his bid to seek vengeance against the people responsible in time for Boy Kills Worlds ending.
Since Boy is unable to speak, his thoughts are expressed in voiceover narration. Since he doesnt have a voice of his own, he uses a familiar voice from his favorite arcade game as his inner voice. Archer's father's identity remained a mystery throughout the series, never conclusively revealed. Candidates for Archer's father included Nikolai Jakov, Len Trexler, Savio Mascalzoni, and an unnamed agent. In the series finale, Archer's growth was shown as he chose not to learn his father's identity, prioritizing his connections with others.
The mystery surrounding Sterling Archer's father in Archer was a major question mark for much of the series. While Archer was largely focused on the adventures of Archer and the rest of his co-workers at an independent spy agency, his origins factored into several episodes across the course of the long-running series. This included the truth of his parentage, something his mother Mallory repeatedly refused to divulge despite Sterling's repeated attempts to discover the truth.

Jessica Walter's voice was used for Malory Archer in her final episodes of season 12, giving the character a fitting sendoff despite her passing. Malory Archer's final appearance involved her retiring and going into hiding, offering a touching end to the character's story in "Mission: Difficult." Archer season 12 served as a tribute to Jessica Walter's talents, showcasing her range in her last episodes as Malory.
FX's Archer season 12 saw the return of Sterling Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) alongside his eclectic colleagues and mother, Malory, but voiced by the late Jessica Walter. However, due to Walter's death midway through the production of season 12, many fans still wonder if Walter voiced Malory in the character's final episodes. With an award-winning career spanning decades, Jessica Walter enjoyed countless notable roles on stage and screens both big and small.
Despite the character's abrasive nature, Jessica Walter helped to turn Malory Archer into a beloved fan favorite.

The Archer cast has provided voices for characters for over a decade, making it one of the longest-running adult animated sitcoms. Characters like Sterling Archer and Lana Kane are inspired by popular spy figures, with hidden jokes about spy fiction throughout. With guest stars like Burt Reynolds and Kenny Loggins, the show is known for its variety of characters and humorous storylines.
The Archer cast has lent its voice talents to its characters for more than a decade, cementing the show's position as one of the longest-running adult-animated sitcoms. Revolving around secret agent Sterling Archer, the FX original deals with the inner workings of a dysfunctional intelligence agency and its global misadventures. Even though the visual environment of the show gives off a vintage noir picture, Archer's timeline is never specified. While the team's missions seem to take place in the Cold War era, their language and gadgets can be quite modern.

Moritz Mohr’s Boy Kills World is what happens when you toss The Hunger Games, Mortal Kombat, Happy!, and Crank into a blender. While that sounds rad, the slurry of upbeat action and nonsense plot tangles is much more baffling in execution. Mohr’s vision borrows heavily from button-mashy videogames and dystopian graphic novels, blending Cyberpunk futurism with real-world dictatorship commentaries. There’s a message about fascism and rebellion somewhere in Mohr’s madcap martial arts violence, but it’s lost under the piles of enemy corpses. Boy Kills World never knows the movie it wants to be past a killing spree, as the story makes one poor choice after the next, like a genre satire that becomes what it tries to parody.

Most animated shows have a general idea of what their characters are going to be when they start casting, but in the case of the Fox family sitcom "Bob's Burgers," they actually worked in reverse. The series went backwards by starting with a cast in mind and then created the Belcher family inspired by the cast and their specific talents. It's a pretty unique way to create a television show, but it worked great because the voice actors each bring so much to the table that the show actually uses a mixture of written script and improv to bring the Belchers to life, something very few animated shows would ever even attempt.
H. Jon Benjamin is perfect as the family's fumbling but loving patriarch, Bob, while John Roberts somehow manages to change his voice to the perfect pitch for Bob's wine-chugging, song-singing wife Linda. It's not super unusual for voice...

A core element of Archer is the character's contemptuous treatment of almost everyone and everything that crosses his path. No one has experienced this more than Cyril Figgis. The perpetually put-upon accountant turned agent -- played deftly for 14 years by Saturday Night Live alum Chris Parnell -- has is Sterling Archer's favorite punching bag, both verbally and physically.
But Cyril's growth has also been one of the Fxx show's most compelling arcs, making him into a surprisingly capable and committed hero despite still being made fun of on a regular basis. During an interview with Cbr, Parnell discussed Cyril's most unexpected character change, which season of the long-running animated comedy was the most challenging, and if Archer and Cyril have truly become friends by the events of the series finale, Archer: Into the Cold.

Fxx's Archer has proven to be a consistently hilarious, constantly thrilling and supremely enduring TV series since its 2009 debut. The espionage parody has transformed into one of the best workplace comedies of the 21st century, with a cast of outrageous characters all orbiting around the titular Sterling Archer -- the world's greatest (and often dumbest) secret agent. But things finally came to an end with the extra-length special Archer: Into the Cold serving as an epilogue to Archer Season 14 and the finale for the entire show.
But while Archer may have grown and changed in 14 years, it's hard to say that he has fully evolved -- and according to the man behind the performance, that was always by design. During an interview with Cbr, H. Jon Benjamin reflected on how the series was always more of a tragedy than anyone realized, the important effect becoming a father had on Archer,...

The feature-length installment Archer: Into the Cold proved to be an action-packed ending for the series. But Lana's voice actor Aisha Tyler explained that Archer's finale also has emotional heft to it.
During an interview with Cbr, Criminal Minds: Evolution star Tyler teased the scope of the extra-length finale and reflected on the emotional layers she got to explore in the long-running espionage parody. She also discussed the surprising evolution of Lana's relationship with Sterling Archer, which remained a key part of the series until its very end.

Much like “Wonka” held back its ace in the hole for a majority of the movie, “Archer: Into the Cold” — the long-awaited series finale of Adam Reed’s long-running satiric espionage sitcom — saves one of its best-ever creations for last.
Actually, I’m a little mad about it. How dare we get only a precious few minutes with Tiny Barry™, the ideal form of so many forms taken by Archer’s one-time rival agent, turned villainous cyborg, turned computerized consciousness who was living inside the office refrigerator to start the series finale? How dare he not get a full season to stretch out those tiny little legs, with a special episode told from Tiny Barry’s doll-sized point of view? How dare Krieger (Lucky Yates) keep a “sentient robot in defiance of god” under wraps all these years, when it’s this teensy and this adorable and has...

He’d just sold his stake in the production company he co-founded, 70/30 Productions — responsible for his animated series Sealab 2021 and Frisky Dingo — and fled to Europe, to embark on what he calls a “pilgrimage.” One day during his expedition, he was idling at a café in Salamanca, Spain, and observed a group of stunning women. Mike Flanagan’s creative partnership with Netflix has produced several memorable pieces of art over the last several years. His latest project for the streaming service, the gothic horror series “The Fall of the House of Usher,” is yet another that will have viewers talking.
The eight-episode drama skillfully blends the work and imagery of Edgar Allen Poe with a timely narrative about the Usher family, a privileged group who own a pharmaceutical company that is largely responsible for the current opioid crisis. Bruce Greenwood leads the cast as Roderick Usher, the patriarch who must confront his past in the wake of the violent deaths of all of his children. Joining Greenwood are several actors who’ve starred in Flanagan’s previous Netflix series, including Carla Gugino, Kate Siegel, Rahul Kohli, Henry Thomas and Zach Gilford, and new additions like Mary McDonnell and Mark Hamill, who turn in fantastic performances in the gripping tale.

Just days after the final episode capping 14 seasons of FX’s Emmy-winning adult animated comedy Archer, the series will officially wrap with a special Finale Event. Archer: Into the Cold was announced today at New York Comic Con.

After 14 seasons of bawdy spy hi-jinks, Archer is calling it quits — but the Fxx comedy managed to deliver one final twist on the way out.
If you haven’t watched in a while, here’s a quick update: Lana is running the spy agency now after the departure of Malory (voiced by the late Jessica Walter), and the agency has a sassy new British spy, Zara Khan, played by Natalie Dew. Other than that, it’s pretty much business as usual in Thursday’s series finale, with Archer and his pals springing into action when a fleet of killer drones start murdering ex-iia employees.

I first heard about FX’s “Archer” in the ready room of Vaq-135, a navy squadron who were serving an interminable deployment aboard an aircraft carrier somewhere near Midway Island. (This sounds very much like a humblebrag that Sterling Archer would obnoxiously drop into conversation). It was 2010, and the pilots had lost whatever idealism they’d once had during an endless deployment that had them flying 12-hour missions from the Persian Gulf to Afghanistan. I started hearing the officers stage-whisper “danger zone” whenever one of them got called in to see the commanding officer over some minor fuck-up or summoned to the flight deck in the pitch black of an ocean night.
Now, famously, “Danger Zone” is a Kenny Loggins song that plays a significant role in the homoerotic original recipe “Top Gun,” the urtext of naval aviators. But the way the pilots were saying it suggested they were taking the piss.

When Spectrum and Disney reached a deal after the recent blackout, subscribers of the former ended up losing out on several networks, including Freeform, Fxx, Disney Junior, Disney Xd, Fxm, Baby TV, Nat Geo Wild, and Nat Geo Mundo. But now there’s good news for Archer fans. The availability of the 14th and final season of the Emmy-winning animated comedy has expanded, with episodes now going up on VOD systems for the FX and Fxx linear channels (in addition to streaming the next day on Hulu) after they premiere. That means that while Spectrum customers may not have access to Fxx, it’s through FX, which they do have; they’ll be able to watch Archer. Archer follows Sterling Archer (H. There is a new way for fans of Archer who have Spectrum cable but not Hulu to watch the Fxx animated series’ 14th and final season. The Emmy-winning comedy has expanded the availability of its current 14th season by making episodes available post-premiere on VOD systems for the FX and Fxx linear channels.
The issue arose after the new agreement between Disney and Spectrum parent Charter, which came together after 10 days of interrupted carriage, included the drop of eight Disney ad-supported cable networks, including Fxx and Fxm, from Spectrum platforms. As Deadline reported last week, FX brass were looking for solutions on Archer, which was seriously impacted as its final season had just premiered when the Disney networks went dark on Spectrum systems on Aug. 31.

Sterling Archer's longtime nemesis Barry Dylan are back for what could be the last time on this week's Archer. However, the cyborg agent has been reduced to life as an "artifridgeal intelligence". As seen on the FX animated series' official Twitter account, Archer's cybernetic rival survived his seemingly fiery demise in Season 12's finale "Mission: Difficult", but his consciousness is now trapped in a "smart fridge." Now freed of his increasingly deranged alter ego, Other Barry, Barry is here to warn Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) and company of Other Barry's imminent return — but they mostly find his predicament hilarious, especially Cheryl (Judy Greer), who dubs him an "artifridgeal intelligence". Meanwhile, new agent Zara Khan (Natalie Dew), who joined at the beginning of this season and has experienced little of the series' past sci-fi craziness, is in awe of the seeming impossibility of Barry's existence.

Not every TV show features older characters that a specific audience can relate to, but there are many cases in which these characters prove age doesn’t matter, and they do it in different ways. While the main purpose of TV shows is to entertain, not all of them feature relatable characters for viewers of all ages, often forgetting either children or elderly people. In the case of the latter, TV shows more often than not fall into the cliché of mentally unstable or always grumpy characters, but there are many others that have featured some truly cool older characters that don’t care about age.
Although they don’t happen often, there have been a couple of TV shows in which their main focus is elderly characters, while in most TV shows they are often recurring characters. Elderly characters don’t need to be grumpy and boring, and many...

FX's hilarious animated series Archer has been on the air for over a decade and isn't slowing down any time soon — here are the best Archer episodes. The show has been a consistently funny network staple for a litany of reasons. The animation is beautiful, the writing is witty, the voice acting is outstanding, and Archer manages to reinvent itself every few seasons. American adult animated sitcom follows special ops agent Sterling Archer (H. Jon Benjamin) and seven of his oddball colleagues as they go on special missions. The series mainly acts as a parody of the espionage genre and has even won a few awards.
Archer and the gang have done it all during the show's long run. They've had adventures in space, on a blimp, and on a submarine. They battled pirates, drug dealers, and cyborgs. Not only that, but Archer has had themed seasons, such as Archer Vice or Archer Dreamland,...

After a period of unconfirmed rumors, Fxx has announced the fourteenth and final season for Archer, the animated spy parody that has reached the end of its very successful run. No reason was given for the cancelation, but with well over a decade of episodes under its belt -- along with ten Emmy nominations and four wins -- they could simply be out of good stories to tell. Not many shows have enough gas in their tank to get nearly as far as it did.
Regardless of the actual reasons, however, the time has come. Though brilliant in its heyday, Archer has declined for several seasons. It was acknowledged as much some time ago, and the recent loss of an indispensable cast member only heightened the issue. It probably should have been put out to pasture at least two seasons ago.

FX's Archer originally premiered in 2009, and after more than a decade of hilarious espionage action, it's finally time to say goodbye. Created by Adult Swim alumni Adam Reed, who was previously responsible for co-creating Sealab 2021 and Frisky Dingo, Archer's consistent success is nothing short of amazing. Through a unique animation style, a consistently funny cast, and irreverent writing, it has become one of the increasingly-few animated series to not only last for years on end but to leave behind a significant cultural impact while doing so. At the very least, it introduced a whole new generation to the wonderful discography of Kenny Loggins.
After 14 years, three dream seasons, and countless martinis, the uncomfortable question has to be asked: how on Earth do you wrap things up? Archer isn't exactly a series known for its sentimental endings and tearful goodbyes, as it sometimes goes out of its way to purposefully subvert those tropes.
