Biography

    • Misha Manson-Smith is a director, writer and producer from Glasgow, Scotland. He has been nominated for three BAFTA Awards, including the Breakthrough Talent Award for Directing.

      In 2025, Manson-Smith directed the second season of BAFTA-winning hybrid drama The Jury for Channel 4 and released short film The Art Of The Lie.

      Manson-Smith is known for directing commercials including Aimee Lou Wood for Swarovski and numerous BAFTA and RTS Award-winning television dramas including The Feed for Amazon, Kiss Me First for Netflix, No Offence for Channel 4, Ordinary Lies for BBC One and Excluded for BBC Two.

      In film, Manson-Smith has directed shorts including Barbados, starring Michael Sheen, written by George Kay and produced by Fred Berger, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, Nine and a Half Minutes, starring David Tennant and produced by Ollie Madden, which premiered at Edinburgh and multi-Emmy-winning HBO feature documentary Death In Gaza, which premiered at Berlin.

      In comedy, Misha wrote and directed the pilot for Hoff The Record, the Emmy-winning series developed with Mickey Down and Konrad Kay starring Craig Roberts, Asim Chaudhry and Brett Goldstein. Misha also created four multi-award-winning series with long-time collaborator Marc Wootton, including cult hits My New Best Friend for Channel 4, La La Land for Showtime and Gooseberry for Comedy Central with EP Sacha Baron Cohen.
