So from time to time, the editors have decided to let me out of the “cage” of that regular column, in a feature we’re calling Monkey Uncaged!

Q: What, in your opinion, is the worst gay film ever made? Why? – A.R.

A: A couple of months ago, I wrote a list of what I considered to be the ten most “important” gay male films – not what I felt were the “best,” mind you, but the ones that I felt had had the most impact either on the Glbt community or society at large.

Variety reports that Tori Spelling has joined the cast of C. Jay Cox's independent romantic comedy Kiss the Bride. Here Films will exec produce and handle worldwide distribution for the Ty Lieberman-penned project, which centers on a guy trying to stop his former boyfriend from getting hitched to a girl. Joanna Cassidy, Tess Harper, Philipp Karner and James O'Shea round out the cast. Filming is currently underway in Los Angeles. Spelling is also in pre-production with a new reality series for Oxygen, which revolves aroung her and her husband's exploits as proprietors of a bed and breakfast in California's wine country.

Here! Films, the theatrical distribution and worldwide sales division of gay-oriented Here! Networks, has come on board director C. Jay Cox's Kiss the Bride to executive produce the film and oversee its worldwide distribution. Written by Ty Lieberman, the comedy stars Tori Spelling and James O'Shea as a couple about to get married when the prospective bridegroom's high school boyfriend, played by Philipp Karner, enters the picture. It will premiere next year in theaters and on Here!
