After the heroes of the Sailor Moon franchise are able to defeat the villains of the Dark Kingdom, they soon come across a brand-new threat, which is the devious Black Moon Clan. Just like their previous foes, the members of the Black Moon Clan all had minions to help them in their conquest. However, the Droids proved to be quite different from the many Youma that worked for the Dark Kingdom.
The Droids are presented in different ways depending on the medium they are featured in. Sometimes a Droid looks similar to another Droid, while in other pieces of media, each Droid is unique. No matter what, however, one must be prepared when encountering a Droid, as their powers are not something to scoff at.

Modern anime titles appeal to a wide variety of demographics, including older anime community members. For those who have been following anime since the 80s and 90s, there are still plenty of popular titles that appeal to older audiences. There may seem to be no shortage of titles that appeal to younger audiences. However, that doesn't mean that some of those same series can cultivate a following among older fans too.
Often, series that are successful with older audiences might have a more mature tone and themes. Conversely, they might offer a new twist on established anime tropes. Series like Dragon Ball can appeal to just about anyone, but sometimes that universal appeal can only go so far to interesting fans who have seen hundreds of similar action anime. That's what sets these examples apart from ones with universal appeal.

Sailor Moon is not just one of the most popular magical girl anime in existence, but one of the most famous anime ever. The storyline follows the adventures of Usagi Tsukino, who initially believes that she is an average teenager. A chance meeting with a cosmic cat named Luna informs the student that she is actually anything but, and is destined to fight several powerful foes in order to find a missing princess from the moon.
Thanks to its narrative, designs, and unforgettable cast of characters, Sailor Moon has remained a staple of the anime industry to this day. However, there is a key theme in the storyline that can be rather confusing at times, that being the element of time travel. Time itself, according to the Sailor Moon narrative, is not something that should be manipulated, and yet the Sailor Guardians are often able to do so without trouble — most of the time.

Delicious in Dungeon is an anime that hosts a wide array of strong and powerful characters. Some, like Marcille, boast powerful spells capable of destroying anything in her path. Others, like Shuro, are very powerful with respect to their fighting abilities, able to defeat powerful monsters with a single strike. Rarely do characters within the anime shine on their lonesome, though certain ones do stand out due to their sheer power.
Most characters within Delicious in Dungeon can be either more or less powerful due to the context of the situation they are in. For example, Chilchuck is generally useless in an open fight, though he is a lifesaver within the chaotic confines of a dungeon. The scale of the most powerful characters is weighed heavily by their circumstances, environment, and preparation. While the Delicious in Dungeon manga has concluded, fans can still look forward to the second season. As of today,...

In the '90s Sailor Moon anime, Usagi Tsukino transforms into the Pretty Guardian of Love and Justice, fighting to keep the world save from all forces of evil. One of the first villains she encounters on her adventures is Queen Beryl, a sorceress and commander of the Dark Kingdom.
Working for Queen Beryl were the four Shitennou, Jadeite, Nephrite, Zoisite, and Kunzite. While they are ultimately no match for Sailor Moon and the rest of the Sailor Guardians, the Shitennou have some of the most tragic fates in the series. Over different versions of the story, from the anime, manga and the Sailor Moon Crystal adaptation, the Shitennou's roles and final outcome vary significantly, making it hard to tell what truly happened to them after they crossed paths with Sailor Moon.

Sailor Moonis one of the most beloved and instantly recognizable anime and manga series ever created. Naturally, like any popular anime or manga franchise, fans have spent hours debating which of the Sailor Scouts is the most powerful. Due to her status as the lead and title character, traditional logic would suggest that Sailor Moon is the strongest Sailor Scout. However, when the Scouts are put beside each other, it quickly becomes apparent that Sailor Saturn, one of the franchise's most overlooked fighters, far dwarfs Usagi's power.
Sailor Saturn's civilian persona, Hotaru Tomoe, makes her debut in "Act 27 Infinity 1 Premonition," the manga's 27th chapter, and "The Grail's Divine Power! Moon's Double Transformation," the 111th episode of the original anime. However, unlike the other Sailor Senshi, who often transformed within a few episodes of their original debut, fans had to wait a while to see Hotaru unlock her Sailor Scout form,...

Sailor Moon, at its core, is a narrative about love in all of its forms. Usagi Tsukino, for instance, is fueled by the love she has for her fellow Sailor Guardians, as well as her family and lover, Mamoru Chiba. It is this loyalty she holds toward them that grants her the strength needed to defeat even the toughest of enemies, whether they are the Death Busters or even Chaos itself.
However, another being possesses the same selfless nature that Usagi has, that person being Queen Serenity. Sailor Moon is the reincarnation of Queen Serenity's long-lost daughter, as well as the heir to the Moon Kingdom. Though Queen Serenity's role is not as major compared to her daughter's, the queen's own narrative remains an especially important key to the Sailor Senshi's rebirth.

Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moonis one of the most iconic and beloved manga and anime series of the 1990s and one of the most instantly recognizable franchises in media history, even to people with little knowledge of the anime or manga mediums. One of Sailor Moon's most fascinating elements is its lore. While the series' later arcs massively flesh out the universe and give fans a deeper insight into the nature and history of the Sailor Scouts, some questions have never been answered satisfactorily. One such question concerns the existence of Sailor Earth, as it still causes intense fan debates today.

Sailor Moon primarily follows the adventures of Usagi Tsukino, the young school girl who transforms into the eponymous character and fights alongside her friends to keep the world safe from terrifying forces of evil. As she learns more about her powers as Sailor Moon, Usagi makes new friends — and enemies — along the way. One of the most memorable of Usagi's allies is Sailor Saturn, the Messiah of Silence.
Sailor Saturn has a complicated story throughout Sailor Moon's timeline, with the character appearing to die and be reincarnated a few times along the way. Hotaru's journey is a unique one, and by the end of the anime, her ultimate fate is filled with uncertainty. Different versions of Sailor Moon adaptations also handle Hotaru's ending slightly differently, making her true, canonical ending even more confusing to some fans.

The Supernatural Sisters (also called the Spectre Sisters or the Ayakashi Sisters) are often considered Sailor Moon's most iconic and memorable villains. Consisting of Koan, Berthier, Calaveras, and Petz, this group debuted in the Black Moon Arc. The Spectre Sisters are fascinating because the 1990s anime and the original manga handled them differently.
While the manga (and thus Sailor Moon Crystal) gave them surprisingly little screen time, the original anime expanded their roles dramatically, giving the sisters individual character arcs. Because of this, the Spectre Sisters feature in some of Sailor Moon's most memorable battle sequences, using their unique powers to push the Sailor Scouts to their limits.

Part of what makes Sailor Moon so iconic and enduring in the hearts of fans is its epic romance arc. Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion have a kind of Romeo and Juliet story, meeting a tragic end at the downfall of the Moon Kingdom. However, they are given a second chance when they're reborn on Earth as Usagi and Mamoru, destined to always find each other.
Though this is Sailor Moon's central romance, the franchise wouldn't be what it is without its well-developed side characters. These characters often have romances of their own, to greater and lesser degrees. Even the pairings that don't have as many scenes together form relationships that are still beautifully crafted and compelling, captivating audiences across Sailor Moon's many adaptations.

At its heart, Sailor Moon is a story about not just the superheroines who save their universe time and again, but the relationships they forge with each other. Focusing primarily on Usagi Tsukino, a student who discovers she is the reincarnation of a long-lost princess from the moon, the narrative follows Sailor Moon as she learns to hone her powers. Along the way, she meets several other young women who also possess powers of their own, and together they team up to save their city.
However, not all is simple when it comes to making new allies. Upon encountering Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune, Sailor Moon and her friends find that the other two Sailor Guardians are not at all interested in teaming up. In reality, forging an alliance with Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus may prove to be easier compared to gaining the trust of Sailor Saturn.

Sailor Moon is all about young Usagi Tsukino's magical adventures to save the world from total annihilation. In the name of the moon, she leads the group of Sailor Guardians, keeping Earth and the entire Galaxy safe from terrifying cosmic forces of evil. With her talking cat Luna by her side, Usagi's journey often sees her taking on terrifying villains, but she rarely makes much time for training.

Sailor Moon's Outer Sailor Guardians possess the Talismans, some of the most intriguing weapons in the series. These powerful objects are a key source of the Guardians' strength. Except for Sailor Saturn, all the Guardians had access to one Talisman each. These weapons enhance each of their Guardians' abilities and make them even more powerful than before.
Sailors Uranus, Pluto, and Neptune all use these artifacts to the fullest. Unlike other weapons in the series, the three Guardians don't just use them in battle. All three weapons do have special abilities if used separately. Together, though, their combined power is truly formidable. While they can have the power to work miracles, their usage could also spell the end of the universe in more ways than one.

The Sailor Moon series of the 90s was well known for breaking barriers and empowering its characters, and while its impact remains strong, certain aspects of the franchise haven’t aged quite as well as others.
The societal lens of the 90s made room for storytelling decisions that now raise eyebrows for being tone-deaf, outdated, and even problematic. The cultural norms of the era gave Sailor Moon room to explore bold ideas, but they also left blind spots that modern audiences can’t ignore.

Studio Trigger's anime adaptation of Delicious in Dungeon utterly captivated audiences earlier this year with its lovable cast, intricate world-building, and eccentric yet appetizing meals. That said, one aspect of Delicious in Dungeon that especially caught the eye of fans was the series' unique approach to fan service, wherein Senshi is often the object of it instead of any of the female cast, and the reason why is just as bizarre as fans would expect.
In an interview at Anime Expo 2024, Delicious in Dungeon's creator Ryoko Kui revealed that the fan service involving Senshi was not intentional. Rather, Senshi was actually inspired by an old man Kui knew as a child who would nonchalantly hang around in his underwear. As such, though fans often point out Senshi's sex appeal, his character was never inherently sexual, with the panty shots being just another innocent aspect of his character rather than fan service.

Rather, Senshi was actually inspired by an old man Kui knew as a child who would nonchalantly hang around in his underwear. As such, though fans often point out Senshi's sex appeal, his character was never inherently sexual, with the panty shots being just another innocent aspect of his character rather than fan service.

To accompany the Sailor Moon anime, both the original and the Crystal version, several movies were made for the franchise as a whole. Some movies were direct adaptations of storylines from the manga, yet some were brand-new, original stories. Each film has a unique premise, focusing on not only Sailor Moon but also other characters alongside her. For example, Usagi's lover, Mamoru Chiba, had a primary role in Sailor Moon R: The Movie.
While the Sailor Moon franchise is usually family-friendly, there are several moments and themes that are better suited for an older audience. Death is a common trend in the series, for both the villains and even the Sailor Guardians themselves. The movies can also provide some especially dark themes, ranging in intensity yet all the while being noticeably somber compared to the lighter episodes of the series. Still, the main Sailor Moon storyline itself can be quite sorrowful,...

Over the course of Sailor Moon, each character goes through great character development. While changes can be noticed in terms of demeanor or relationships with other people, Sailor Senshi and otherwise, greater changes lie within their combat expertise. With every battle, the Sailor Guardians learn to better hone their skills and grow wiser come the next fight.
As each Sailor Guardian is unique in terms of both personality and power type, they will also vary in their growth and increased skills. Sailor Moon, for example, starts out with few attacks, yet grows over time and learns several powerful attacks to both heal the galaxy and fight against those who wish to harm it. Meanwhile, Sailor Saturn, the stoic Outer Senshi, has only a few seen attacks, yet each demonstration of her signature attacks appear to grow all the more powerful.

Amidst monsters and mayhem, Delicious in Dungeon offers a fresh take on the adventure genre. From its visuals to storyline, it’s anything but a bog-standard series. This holds true with the compelling storyline and light-hearted themes. What’s interesting is that the manga doesn’t try hard to be extraordinary. Even the author vouches for this in terms of the characters.

In an interview, Ryoko Kui revealed the ordinary nature of the protagonist. While most readers speculate their theories regarding his behaviour, it is quite opposite. In her revelation she also highlights the importance of food as an underlying theme in the series.

Delicious in Dungeon may instantly remind readers of Dungeons and Dragons due to the obvious name. It, however, isn’t the case with this series because of its fresh storyline.

One of the most beloved aspects of the entire Sailor Moon franchise is the main characters of the storyline, namely the Sailor Senshi themselves. Consisting of both Inner Senshi and Outer Senshi members, the former group of heroes consists of the girls that work side-by-side with the titular protagonist, Sailor Moon. The girls, over the course of the series, must learn to trust each other and themselves as they grow into formidable fighters and legendary cosmic warriors. Aside from battling, the girls also find close friends within the others, forming a sort of sisterhood among the Sailor Guardians. No matter what foes the group may face, their loyalty to one another stands the test of time and even the most difficult battles.
In the group's ranks are two Sailor Senshi who have a similar sense of justice: Sailor Mars and Sailor Venus, also known as Rei Hino and Minako Aino.

The Sailor Moon manga series began in the early 1990s from the creative genius of Naoko Takeuchi. Over the years, it grew into a worldwide phenomenon spanning anime, movies, and musicals. Now, nearly 30 years later, the Cosmos movies bring Usagi Tsukino’s epic tale to its conclusion.
For those unfamiliar, Sailor Moon follows a group of magical girls tasked with protecting Earth from evil forces. Usagi heads the team as the pretty guardian Sailor Moon. Across numerous story arcs, they’ve battled threats lurking in the shadows of their high school lives.
The Cosmos movies cover the final story section from the original manga, known as the “Stars” arc. In it, Usagi and friends enter their first year of high school. But dark times are ahead as a new foe appears, the powerful Sailor Galaxia. She aims to collect mystical items called Sailor Crystals, possessing untold power. Even more shocking,...

From Sailor Galaxia to Mistress 9, the Sailor Moon franchise holds intense storylines with powerful foes that the Sailor Guardians must face. Some battles can be rather simple and vanquished in the span of a single episode, while other villains are a much tougher fight and can only be defeated at the end of an arc. Regardless, the might of the Sailor Senshi prevails and allows the team to conquer evil for the sake of the galaxy.
Alongside the main foes of an arc are the supporting enemies that hold great significance of their own. Depending on the character, a certain opponent can hold great stakes for the cast or simply be a source of comedy. Whatever their role may be, there are several enemy characters in the franchise that remain well-known among fans today.

The cast of Sailor Moon have fought many battles, some relatively simple, some more complicated than others. In special cases, the Sailor Guardians have faced enemies more powerful than expected, resulting in incredible showdowns at the end of each arc. In several cases, the group is able to stick together throughout the end, though there are indeed times when Sailor Moon must stand without her fellow Guardians.
Sailor Moon faces the universe's greatest threat alone in the form of Sailor Galaxia, the most powerful and destructive opponent she has met. Able to destroy worlds with a flick of her hand, she is the most unpredictable and violent of the Sailor Senshi of the universe. Even when compared to the actions of other foes the team faces, no enemy's power can be matched by Sailor Galaxia's lust for power and her unshakable determination to conquer the universe, especially when her backstory is taken into account.

The fantasy genre of anime has gotten into a kind of slump with the popularity of isekai–which were novel when they were conceived, but have devolved into male fantasies where the protagonists enter a magic world, slay monsters, and get a harem of women. While fans have started getting sick of isekai stories, fantasy as a genre is finding a return to form with recent properties like “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End”, and Studio Trigger’s recent adaptation of the fantastic “Dungeon Meshi” or “Delicious in Dungeon” by author Ryoko Kui.
The anime has successfully adapted multiple arcs of the manga, and a second season is already underway. For fans who can’t wait though, they’ve turned to the original manga to further explore the fate of Laios, Marcille, and the rest of the Touden Party.

Eternal cycles of life and death act as a thematic heartbeat for both Sailor Moon and the Sailor Senshi themselves. Led by Usagi Tsukino, their past lives and future destinies are perpetually, intimately linked with their present selves. Each reborn in a new era to fight evil and protect the universe, Sailor Senshi's long-spanning, millennia-old legacy steeps the show in rich, unending lore. The series expertly deploys reincarnation to underscore the timeless nature of their struggle and the recurring battle between light and darkness, deepening the emotional resonance of Sailor Moon's journeys and relationships.

Sailor Moon is one of anime's most popular and instantly recognizable franchises. The adventures of Usagi Tsukino and her friends have delighted audiences ever since the manga debuted in the pages of Nakayoshi magazine in 1991. As is the norm for popular manga series, it wouldn't be long until the franchise jumped to anime, with Toei Animation launching its adaptation the following year.
This anime made the franchise even more popular. As is the norm for the industry, Sailor Moon's popularity led to Usagi and her friends making their way to the silver screen several times during the show's run. Today, seven different Sailor Moon movies exist. These films cover everything from high-budget manga adaptions to bonus side stories. But what do new fans need to know about them?

The Sailor Moon franchise has several iconic and major villains, with these foes appearing across several timelines. The threat of antagonists such as Queen Beryl and Metalia is an ancient one, with the initial arc seeing the two reborn in the modern day. Conversely, one somewhat tragic enemy hailed from the future and sought to change it by interacting with the past.

The third season of the original Sailor Moon anime, also known as Sailor Moon S, is commonly referred to as the Infinity arc as well. There, the five Inner Senshi cross paths with the Outer Senshi for the first time, starting with couple Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune, who have seemingly troublesome ideals compared to their fellow Sailor Scouts.
After the arrival of the second-to-last Outer Senshi, the wise Sailor Pluto, a threat within the order of the Senshi is revealed with the arrival of Chibiusa's new friend Hotaru. In any other circumstance, Sailor Saturn's arrival may have been a cause to celebrate; tragically, dark forces have corrupted her, threatening to use her abilities for destruction without Hotaru's control. The third season of Sailor Moon is arguably one of the darkest arcs, thanks to the narrative of a possessed Sailor Senshi, one who has no clue about the origin of her abilities.

Creative cuisine shines in Delicious in Dungeon, showcasing unique recipes using ingredients from the dungeon depths.
