Josh Gad, the Broadway actor, narrowly missed the opportunity to star in James Cameron’s sci-fi masterpiece. In his recently released memoir, Gad recalled the moment he almost landed a major role in Avatar as Jake Sully’s best friend.
Known for voicing the iconic animated character Olaf of Disney’s Frozen, he was ready to seize the chance, but luck wasn’t in his favor. He said he apparently looked like a “tall overweight Smurf.”

Antisemitism is sadly on the rise. And while this fast-growing discrimination and prejudice against Jews has been a troubling issue worldwide, it is now plaguing the entertainment industry as well. Where diversity and inclusivity should thrive, Antisemitism has been raising concerns. This led influential voices to speak up and bring much-needed attention to these serious issues.
Now, instead of succumbing to the shackles of antisemitism, several Hollywood stars came forward to take a stand, using their platforms to call out this societal evil and push for change. From Kim Kardashian to Adrien Brody, and even Friends star David Schwimmer, a number of Hollywood personalities openly addressed antisemitism and called for stronger action.

Jim Carrey is set to play 2 different Robotnik characters in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, and his role in another movie released in 2004 proves he's more than up for it. The third movie in the Sonic franchise sees Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles facing off against a new foe, Shadow the Hedgehog, who vows to get revenge on humanity. Their attempts to stop Shadow are thwarted by the return of Doctor Robotnik and his grandfather, Gerald Robotnik. Sonic 3's trailer shows Shadow's dark origins and sees Carrey take on the dual roles of both Robotniks.
Although he initially considered retirement in 2022, Jim Carrey ultimately decided to return for Sonic 3 and reprise his role as Doctor Robotnik. Robotnik's return in Sonic 3 is a career first for Carrey, as it is the first time that he has ever played the same character three times in different movies. One of the main features of Disney Dreamlight Valley, and ultimately one of the reasons why the game is so popular, is its extensive focus on decorating. The world of Disney Dreamlight Valley is endlessly customizable, with an abundance of materials and furniture items to collect. The game is constantly improving, and its latest free release, the "Sew Delightful" update, has implemented a revolutionary new decorating mechanic where players can now rotate objects up to 16 times, making decorating in Disney Dreamlight Valley easier than ever.
The "Sew Delightful" update also introduced Floating Islands, which provide a blank space for more creative freedom. With each biome in Disney Dreamlight Valley offering different themes and items to decorate with, there is one biome in particular that is arguably the most difficult area in the game to decorate: The Frosted Heights. As a landscape of snow and ice with little definition between its areas,...

Even years later, Animal Crossing: New Horizons just keeps surprising its players with some of the most interesting situations ever imagined. Whether it's from people discovering new uses for interactive items, making beautiful custom designs, or simply coming across a silly piece of dialogue from a villager, it seems that Acnh is the game that just keeps giving. The relaxing island getaway has offered players a safe and cozy virtual home throughout the pandemic and countless personal trials in the lives of its players. On some rare occasions, however, it isn't quite the idyllic vacation that it is designed to be.
For Reddit user, Lord-Mankey, this cozy island experience quickly became a dark and grisly murder scene thanks to a glitch in the game that caused the poor rabbit villager, O'Hare, to become impaled on a beach umbrella.

The newest Disney Dreamlight Valley expansion, Storybook Vale, has brought some new faces to the valley, but it's also brought a few new glitches. Among the newest arrivals to the game is Princess Merida, a beloved character from the Disney movie Brave, known for her bright orange curls and Scottish brogue.

The massive success of a few Disney films has led to their characters and storylines being further explored in fan-favorite TV shows. The latest film to earn a series inspired by its characters is Pixar's Inside Out, with the miniseries Dream Productions premiering later this year. Though the act of rebooting or producing sequel films and series based on acclaimed films feels like a habit established in recent years, Disney has been transforming their films into series for decades.
Shows like Lilo & Stitch: The Series, Timon & Pumbaa, and Aladdin aired on TV in the late '90s and early 2000s, and are still enjoyed by audiences to this day. When audiences connect with certain characters right away, like Baymax or Olaf, it only makes sense to produce a follow-up series that explores entertaining adventures outside the main narrative of their originating films. Warning! This post contains Spoilers for Red One
While Red One is about saving a kidnapped Santa Claus in time for Christmas, it also features Krampus, a far darker figure from winter and Christmas mythology. As Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Callum Drift and Chris Evans' Jack O'Malley work together to locate and rescue Santa, one of their biggest leads is Krampus himself, Santa's mythological darker half. However, the monstrously horned Krampus is also perfectly cast in this new Christmas action movie.
In Red One, Krampus is introduced as the adopted brother and former partner of Santa Claus, inspired by German folklore where Krampus would punish all the naughty children (and even drag them to hell), while St. Nicholas gave gifts to those who'd been good. While Red One confirms the brothers had a falling out, Krampus was the originator of the naughty list and becomes a key lead for...

The president of Italy has told Elon Musk to get lost.
President Sergio Mattarella of Italy reacted with evident anger on Wednesday after Elon Musk jumped with both feet into a highly controversial domestic debate about the far-right government’s migrant policies.
Musk tweeted an attack on Italian judges on Monday, saying that they were wrong to challenge Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s plans to spend an estimated $850 million to ship migrants from Italy to newly built detention camps in neighboring Albania. “These judges need to go,” declared Musk, in a comment on X.
Since Italian right-wing politicians have also been attacking the judges, Musk’s intervention was like rubbing salt in the wound.
The normally mild-mannered President Mattarella, who is 83 years old and serves as Italy’s widely respected head of state, issued an unusually sharp rebuke of Musk. Mattarella didn’t cite Musk by name but — in an...

Spaceballs 2, the sequel to Mel Brooks' 1987 satirical space opera, was announced earlier this year and, from the sounds of it, things are getting closer and closer to the starting point thanks to writer Josh Gad, who recently provided fans with one heck of a galaxy-sized update. Gad famous for voicing the character of Olaf in Disneys Frozen franchise is penning the script along with Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez (Detective Pikachu), and will also star in and produce the long-awaited follow-up, which also has Brooks on board as a producer, and Josh Greenbaum (Strays) sitting in the director's chair.

In 1987, comedy legend Mel Brooks released Spaceballs, a parody of Star Wars that pit space rogue Lone Star (Bill Pullman) and his furry companion Barf (John Candy) against the vile Darth Helmet (Rick Moranis). Star Wars mania had by no means abated by that point — Return of the Jedi had come out four years before — but Spaceballs didn't get its own cult of fans until it came out on home video, which is how watched it when I was a tiny baby in the 1990s. I actually think I watched Spaceballs before I watched Star Wars, and it's still probably first in my heart.
Brooks made a couple of attempts over the years to get a sequel to Spaceballs made, but nothing took; according to Forbes, Moranis once pitched him on a movie called Spaceballs III: The Search for Spaceballs II, but it never came together. And so a couple...

Frozen's popularity has been raging on for over ten years, ever since the first movie captivated viewers with ice magic and heartwarming relationships. Characters such as Olaf, Kristoff, Elsa and Anna are loved by many, even though five years have passed since the release of Frozen II. Today, Frozen is still Disney's most lucrative franchise.
Since Frozen II hit theaters, the talk about a third and a potential fourth movie has excited fans. Unlike other follow-up movies by Disney, the sequel didn't flop. It explores the origin of Elsa's ice magic and sees her reconnecting to her ancestry. Some even favor Frozen II over the original movie. Frozen II ends on a satisfying note with Anna and Kristoff tying the knot and Queen Elsa becoming more powerful than ever. It seems to be a good place to end their story. If Disney decides to ever make a live-action Frozen movie, Kristen Bell knows who should play Anna. The actor, who voices the Disney princess in the animated Frozen movies, recently shared who she thinks would be perfect for the role in a live-action remake of the original 2013 movie.
While sitting down with Elle to promote her latest project, Nobody Wants This, with co-star Adam Brody, Bell was asked who she'd want to see play Anna in a live-action Frozen remake. "In the live-action?" Bell pondered, taking a moment to think about all the age-appropriate actors currently working in Hollywood. Eventually, she landed on one name, "Joey King," who is perhaps best known for leading Netflix's The Kissing Booth film trilogy. Her acting credits also include The Dark Knight Rises (2012), The Conjuring (2013), Independence Day: Resurgence (2016), Bullet Train (2022), and, most recently, A Family Affair (2024) and Despicable Me 4 (2024).

Frozen became a hit for Disney with critically acclaimed songs, with the film taking an arguably unconventional approach to the cast members who actually sing the movies' tracks. Following the first movie's release in 2013, Frozen and Frozen II broke box office records and garnered various awards wins and nominations for their compelling narratives and original music a trend that Disney's Frozen 3 is expected to continue. Still renowned for its catchy soundtrack a decade later, the release of Frozen saw its number-one song, Let It Go!, skyrocket on the charts as well.
Let It Go! won both an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 2014 and a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media. Tthe Frozen soundtrack won an Academy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media and had a second nomination. It was not just the music that made Frozen so beloved, but its killer cast and the dynamic characters they played.

Frozen star Kristen Bell shares her top choice for a potential live-action Anna. Released in 2013, Frozen follows Bell's Anna as she partners with Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and a talking snowman named Olaf (Josh Gad) to find her magical missing sister, Elsa (Idina Menzel), after Elsa accidentally uses her powers to trap the kingdom of Arendelle in a permanent winter. The animated film was a massive success, and a sequel was released in 2019, with Frozen 3 confirmed to be on the way.
In a recent interview with Elle, Bell is asked who she thinks should play Anna if a live-action Frozen remake were to happen. After considering the question for a moment, Bell chooses actor Joey King. Bell doesn't explain why she chooses King, but the younger actor is best known for movies like Bullet Train (2022), The Kissing Booth (2018), and most recently appeared in Uglies (2024).

Nordic animation makers need to embrace “compassion, equality and inclusion,” Kool Produktion’s Frank Mosvold told Variety.
“As a gay producer, I’m alarmed by the growing negative attitude and harmful portrayals of the queer and trans communities in Europe, which is why I am developing ‘The Legend of Magnus the Good,’” he added, teasing the animated feature about “acceptance, regardless of gender and identity.”
In the film, Magnus’ father is the famous Viking king Olaf. When his uncle decides to steal the crown, the boy has to flee. He travels in time, landing in the middle of a drag show in Norway.
“It’s important to make something that’s important to you,” Mosvold said later, during Ffa’s panel Nordic Animation: How to Make New Classics. A son of a “very successful businessman,” he also had to deal with high expectations.

Disneys Frozen 2 received mixed reviews, but the box office results were enough reason for Disney to add Frozen 3 to their slate of upcoming movies. For Frozen 2, screenwriter Jennifer Lee once again co-directed with Chris Buck, using the sequel to open up the characters' horizons to lands beyond Arendelle. This change in the narrative structure was somewhat surprising for a high-profile Disney sequel, but proved the studio wasn't above taking risks despite pumping out so many "safe" sequels.
While Frozen 2 doesnt feature a traditional villain like Frozen's loathsome Prince Hanz, it does build to a conclusion that provides spiritual clarity for both the people of Arendelle and the Northuldra tribe. Unlike Frozen's declarative anthem Let It Go, the sequels theme song,...

Teen Wolf actor Dylan O'Brien was up for a possible role in Disney and Pixar's Frozen 2, but the casting wasn't meant to be. Though he utterly bombed his audition, O'Brien wasn't exactly surprised, as he went into it feeling like he wasn't going to get the role.
"I knew that I probably wasnt going to get it," O'Brien said during a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, per THR. "Theyre looking for multitalented, multi-hyphenate people who can act and sing. And I didnt check, to be honest, probably either.

James Dashner's The Maze Runner series has a new adaptation in the works.
O'Brien didn't name the role he was auditioning for in particular, though he noted it would involve singing. Unfortunately, that alone was pretty much a dealbreaker, as O'Brien is, by admission, someone who "can't sing.

When Josh Gad joined the voice cast of Disney's animated movie "Frozen," which came out in 2013, he probably didn't think that he was about to become part of one of the biggest pop culture juggernauts in recent history. Both the original and its 2019 sequel, "Frozen II," made buckets of money at the box office, while the first movie also scored an Academy Award for best original song (thanks to the inescapable earworm "Let It Go"). Plus, Gad's character Olaf, a living snowman who wants to experience summer, became a breakout success on his own. So does Gad have any regrets about his "Frozen" experience? Yes, actually. He wishes he'd changed his voice a little more for the character.
"If I could do it all over again, I would not have lent that snowman my voice. I would've created a different voice," Gad said while participating in an interview at Fan Expo Canada,...

Disney Animation has a new Chief Creative Officer. Jennifer Lee has stepped down from the role after six years and will be succeeded by filmmaker Jared Bush, whose Disney credits include Encanto, Zootopia, and Moana.
Per IndieWire, Lee has departed the position so that she could exclusively focus on directing the next two installments in Disney's Frozen franchise: Frozen 3 and Frozen 4. She is currently writing and directing Frozen 3, which is set for theatrical release on Nov. 24, 2027. She is also co-writing Frozen 4 with Marc Smith. No release date for the fourth Frozen movie has been announced yet, although since it's already been announced, it's unlikely that fans should expect another 8-year gap between 3 and 4 like they experienced with Frozen II and 3.

Given all the love Frozen has received since the first film dropped in 2013, its hard to imagine Josh Gad having anything to feel sorry about where portraying the kindly Olaf is concerned. However, Gad does have one regret when it comes to embodying the Disney character: The actor would not have used his regular voice to bring the lovable snowman to life on-screen. Yes, if the 43-year-old could have another crack at it, Gad would have played around until he found another voice for Olaf. Gad elaborated in an interview while appearing at Fan Expo Canada:
"If I could do it all over again, I would not have lent that snowman my voice. I wouldve created a different voice. Its very weird being in a supermarket and having a little child go like this [tilts and turns his head, emulating a kids astonishment]. That was my first big mistake. But, you know, people tell me I have a very unique voice.

It's been over a decade since Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff warmed our frozen hearts as Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff in the animated film Frozen. The 2013 animated film was followed by the 2019 sequel, which, until this year, was the highest-grossing animated movie, making the actor's voices wildly popular.
Speaking at Fan Expo Canada, Josh Gad revealed that voicing a popular character like Olaf came with its challenges, and explained that he regrets using his own voice for the beloved character. Olaf is easily one of the most adorable Disney characters of all time, as his expressive face and one-liners serve as the best part of the films. He has a lovable personality, and his voice is clearly distinguishable.

The Frozen franchise has seen so much success that Disney is now developing two sequels at once. After Frozen (2013) earned $1.28 billion and Frozen II (2019) earned an even larger share with $1.45 billion at the box office, the musical franchise has become a multimedia hit that has seen its characters in TV shows, musicals, video games, and more. Get ready to “Let It Go” again as Disney has announced that not one but two big Frozen projects are coming! Find out what and when!
Over a decade after it premiered, Frozen has gone from another Disney animated hit into a full-fledged phenomenon. The original was the highest-grossing animated film ever before Inside Out 2 and Disney has made literally billions off the merchandising. A 2019 sequel only added to that power.
The franchise has since blossomed in so many ways from an Epcot ride to the characters used in the Once Upon a Time TV series to a Broadway musical. So it’s little shock that Disney is planning a third film, which was believed to be coming out in 2026.

Following D23, Disney has officially set release dates for the highly anticipated Frozen III as well as the latest Pixar film, Hoppers. While 2024 is barely over and 2025 is just on the horizon, Disney is staking claim to release dates for two films over two years in advance. Disney is letting family audiences know to mark their calendars for Frozen III, as the third entry in the multi-billion dollar animated franchise is coming to theaters in 2027.
Per Deadline, Disney has set Frozen III for release on November 24, 2027, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Frozen and Frozen II opened close to the Thanksgiving holiday and went on to gross $1 billion at the worldwide box office, so this is a smart move for Disney. Meanwhile, the studio has set Pixar's latest original film, Hoppers, for a March 6, 2026 release date. Announced at D23, Hoppers is about a young girl who can "hop" her consciousness into a robotic animal.

Frozen is one of Disney's most popular animated franchises ever. It's also incredibly bankable, as it grossed $2.76 billion at the worldwide box office, and won two Academy Awards. The first film premiered in 2013 with its sequel following six years later, in 2019, becoming the highest-grossing animation of all time, with $1.45 billion. That record was broken this year with Inside Out 2, but luckily Disney confirmed Frozen III is happening, giving it a chance to win back its title. On top of that, it's keeping fans invested as it revealed the concept art for the upcoming threequel at D23.

Disney has confirmed that its $2 billion-plus Frozen IP will get a three-quel in 2027. Disney exec Jennifer Lee, who is also one of the directors of Frozen and Frozen II, released a concept art of the film at the ongoing D23 event. The film was inspired by Christian Andersen’s old fairy tale The Snow Queen. The two films grossed a total of $2.76 billion at the box office.

Lee also hinted at a potential fourth film in the franchise, which obviously draws a comparison to Pixar’s seminal four-part film franchise, Toy Story. From the numbers and the success of Inside Out 2 & Despicable Me 4, the Frozen franchise is likely to surpass the $3 billion-grossing franchise.

Disney fans can return to Arendelle, because Frozen 3 is at D23. Disney revealed some concept art from the threequel, and then surprised everyone by half-announcing yet another sequel, Frozen 4. According to Deadline, Frozen filmmaker Jennifer Lee said, "'There were a lot of questions coming out of Frozen 2it will take two films to answer them.' She did this without saying on the nose that there will be a Frozen 4. Nor was a logo for Frozen 4 flashed up on the screen. She did say Frozen 3 would hit screens in 2027." According to Deadline:
The art was of Elsa and Anna separately on horses heading toward a summery horizon. Olaf was on the back of Annas horse.
The Frozen franchise has been one of the most recognizable in modern Disney history since the release of the first movie back in 2013. Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, the first Frozen...

Do you want to build a snowman? Are you still avoiding capes? After the gargantuan success of both "Frozen" and its sequel at Walt Disney Animation and "Incredibles 2" at Pixar Animation, it should come as no surprise that both franchises are being given more sequels, as announced officially at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California today.
/Film's Jacob Hall was in attendance during the studio's big panel presentation at D23, where the studios revealed "Frozen 3" will arrive in 2027, and "The Incredibles 3" is currently in development at Pixar. Since neither "Frozen II" nor "Incredibles 2" had specific titles for the sequels, it doesn't seem like the three-quels will have any sort of subtitle either.
So, what do we know about both of these sequels after the big announcement at D23?
