Priyanka Chopra is the first actress to win Filmfare Awards in five dissimilar categories.

The first film, she ever signed, was titled "Good Night Princess" (2000), directed by actor/director Atlee Brar. She shot the film for a month, before becoming Miss World. After she became Miss World, she continued to shoot for the film. It was based on the life of Priyanka Gandhi and it was a Hindi/English film. Her co-stars were Pooja Batra and Rahul Dev. The film was finally shelved on account of the producers not having any funds to complete the film.

Her father Ashok Chopra, who also manages her career, was diagnosed with a tumor in his liver. He had to undergo a complicated emergency surgery and died from cancer on June 10, 2013.
