Mark R Black

Mark R Black is a Canadian born actor and former pro Ice hockey player. He spent his career as an enforcer. Mark was born in Edmonton AB Canada, and is of Iroquois and mixed European descent. Mark's first love was movies and films, as a way of escaping into himself. Mark was always involved in sports, but becoming a pro hockey player was the only goal. He also excelled at Boxing, Lacrosse, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and Judo. Mark relocated from Canada to New Zealand. Where he started acting classes in 2020. Fully immersing himself into training himself to learn the craft he found a new love, Acting. As a 6'5" (195cm) actor he was urged by a Casting Director to add that he should highly consider training in Stunts to give himself an edge as a tall actor. Mark dove headfirst into the stunt training world. Having trained with many top industry Stunt Coordinators and Fight Choreographers. He has developed quite a toolbox of skills in order to be able to add value to any production as either an Actor, Stunt Actor, or Stunt performer. Mark has had success in New Zealand with commercials although not having a kiwi accent. He has spent a lot of time of set of TV shows developing proper behaviors and etiquette early on as a Featured Extra, and Action Extra. Taking these experiences as learning experiences. Since being in New Zealand, Mark has studied with many of the best Acting Coaches has to offer on a consistent basis. Mark has utilized his sports background as the blueprint for success within Acting. He is a versatile, loyal and extremely competitive person, who also works to improve himself for the betterment of the team. These qualities, along with his internal drive and work ethic are what he brings to any production.
