Biography

Rudraroop Sengupta, Independent filmmaker and writer from Kolkata, India. He graduated as a Computer Engineer. However, the love and passion for cinema was always there, which compelled him to leave his job and start making films. "The White Book" which was written by him and co-directed by his childhood friend got selected in many prestigious film festivals in India and abroad. This film is also shown in the prestigious UK film channel. He studied filmmaking from one of the oldest and renowned filmmaking institute in Eastern India - "National Institute of Film and Fine Arts". He is also the founder of Axial Films. Rudraroop Sengupta has written and directed four more short films and his silent political 3 minute film "United Residency Enclave" was highly appreciated and won few awards. Right now working on International collaboration as a Writer and Editor with Austrian film "Chords from the Past" directed by Marc Berger.
